It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, a loving mother, and a cherished grandmother, sister, and friend, Farida Reyes Udasco. She departed this world on Saturday, December 16th, 2023. Farida leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and enduring grace. Born to Conrado and Loretta Reyes on December 7, 1939 in Cagayan, Phillippines, Farida lived a life marked by compassion, kindness, and devotion to her family. Her demure spirit touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
Farida’s journey on this earth was beautifully intertwined with a remarkable 59-year marriage to her devoted husband, Hetty Navarro Udasco. Their union was a testament to enduring love, unwavering commitment, and shared joys. They loved traveling, cruising, and gardening together over the years.
Farida graduated from Baguio General Hospital Nursing School in 1964. Her career was committed to caring for others. She was a registered nurse in New York, Charleston, Norfolk, and Pensacola. She retired from Sacred Heart Hospital in 2001. May her memory continue to inspire a legacy of kindness and selfless service.
Farida enjoyed simple pleasures like gardening, sewing, and baking. She loved tending to her garden, creating thoughtful gifts through sewing, and baking delicious treats for her grandkids. These hobbies were expressions of her caring and creative spirit, leaving a lasting legacy of warmth and love.
As we mourn the loss of Farida, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she led and the impact she had on all who were fortunate to know and love her. May her spirit of love, kindness, and resilience be a source of inspiration for us all. Rest in peace, your love will live on in our hearts and your memory will forever be a blessing to us.
She is survived by her husband, Hetty, and her daughters Catherine, JoAnn, and Yvonne. She is also survived by seven grandchildren that she loved so much: Crystal, Ashley, Morgan, Kiana, Macy, Rocco, and Maddox. Farida also leaves behind four siblings and their families in the Philippines: Henriquetta, Gregorio, Norberto, and Independencia.
Pallbearers will be Peter Kelly, Kiana Kohut, Macy Kelly, Rocco Kelly, Maddox Kohut, and Jimmy Serrano.
Memorial services to honor Farida: Faith Chapel South, 100 Beverly Pkwy, Pensacola, FL 32505. Visitation & Rosary: Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 5pm-7pm. Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 9:30am with Burial at Barrancas National Cemetery to follow at 11:00am Reception to follow.
William E “Billy” Johnson

was a native Pensacola resident who gracefully passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, due to an acute illness.
After serving his country in the Air Force, he returned to Pensacola where he and Wonda Johnson married and established Johnson’s Septic Tank. Together they provided more than 50 years of service to Pensacola, FL and surrounding areas. He quickly became a pillar in his community through his passion of providing to others; whether it was a professional service, coaching tee ball, or introducing new youth to the great outdoors. His charismatic personality led him to spread his everlasting imprint outside the community of Pensacola where he and his three sons together found his momentous passion, Kansas whitetail hunting. This discovery, fueled by his passion for the outdoors, led to more than just hunting. It evolved into a lifetime of memories created year after year, creating a family foundation that would soon become the pinnacle of Billy’s life. This passion will not only survive, but will continue to flourish for years to come commemorating Billy…always.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents William “Rat” and Sadie Johnson, as well as his brother David Johnson and sister, Pam Holland. He is survived by his sons, William Ernie Johnson, wife Heather, Walter Erin Johnson, and Wesley Evan Johnson, companion Ellen Penton; sister, Tina Johnson; grandchildren, Landon Johnson, Braelynn Johnson, Allie Penton, and Evan Penton. Billy’s last two years were graced by the unwavering companionship of Cindy Summers. Her selfless devotion and sacrifice enabled Billy to live his last years completely fulfilled with love, compassion, grace, and overflowing joy. Her love and dedication will survive alongside his memory as we celebrate his eternal life.

Sherry Lorelle Milstid

Sherry Lorelle Milstid, 67, of Pensacola, Florida, went Home to the Lord on December 11, 2023 following a long battle with an illness. She was born on April 17, 1956 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late D.L. and Lorelle Roland.
Sherry moved to Pensacola with her family when she was young and graduated from J.M. Tate High School. She married Donald Milstid and went on to have a son, David Milstid.
Sherry loved God and was a selfless and loving mother. She enjoyed her precious dogs and riding horses.
Sherry is predeceased by her parents, D.L. and Lorelle Roland. She is survived by her former spouse, Donald Milstid, her son, David Milstid, and her grandson, Brendan Milstid; her sisters, Tina Covan and Rita Heist; and her friend, John Wilson.
A Burial Ceremony will be held at Noon on Tuesday, December 19, at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Rosa King Mobley

Rosa King Mobley, 101, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on December 15, 2023. She was born in Molino, Florida on August 24, 1922 to Joseph (Jim) and Carrie King. She lived in Escambia County her entire life and married Berlie M. Mobley. She worked at K-Mart for 22 years and was a long term member of Pine Forest Pentecostal Church. She was mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Berlie Marvin Mobley; sons, Jerry Nall and Richard (Dickie) Mobley; daughter, Hazel Mobley; parents, Jim and Carrie King; many brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Marvin Claude Mobley; daughters, Deborah Mobley and Linda (Martin) Posey.
Pallbearers will be Jason Mobley, Richard Mobley Jr., D.J. Brewton, Ryan Cope, Ricky Mobley, Robert Schneider and Bruce Godwin. Honorary pallbearer will be Martin Posey.
Visitation services will be Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 11:00am at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. Burial and eulogy will follow at Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery at 12:30pm.

“Just a closer walk with Thee, Grant it, Jesus, is my plea…” This was the heart cry of John Douglas McMurphy. He was called to his Heavenly Home on December 13, 2023 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. To walk with Jesus leads to a
lifestyle of service. John was born December 11, 1944, in Atmore, Alabama where he resided his entire life.
John served his country in the Army National Guard, he served as a deacon, and he served his family by providing for them and leading them. He served his friends by offering them time. Whether they were sitting around talking
about classic cars, farming, enjoying good food and Alabama Football, or just taking an afternoon drive, John excelled in relationships. He invested in his family starting with his siblings and his children to his grandchildren. He
loved well and was very well-loved.
John was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph McMurphy, Jr., and Annie Lois Glass McMurphy and his brother, William Joseph “Bill” McMurphy, IV.
He is survived by his daughters, Heather (Brian) Deason of Tuscaloosa, AL and Holly (Steven) Brewer of Tuscaloosa, AL; his brother, William Joseph “Joe” (Toni) McMurphy, III of Atmore, AL; his grandchildren, Hannah
McMurphy, McKenzie Brewer and Anna Lois McMurphy, nephews and nieces.
The family will receive visitors at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., with a graveside service following at 3:00 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, Alabama. Pastor Randy Beard will
preside over the service.
Active pallbearers will be Steven Brewer, Brian Deason, Chad McMurphy, Justin McMurphy, Turner McMurphy and Paul Thomas.

Marvin M. “Doodle” Creamer

Marvin M. “Doodle” Creamer, age 94, of Century, FL passed away on December 9, 2023. He was born on August 27, 1929 in Wawbeek, FL to Thomas and Lena Godwin Creamer. He worked in construction most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ernest Earl Creamer, Sr.; his sister, Georgia Ann Walker and his brother, Hose M. Creamer.
He is survived by his grandchildren: Jennifer Wilson, Junior Creamer, Jeffery Creamer and Joseph Creamer and six great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Bowman Cemetery in Wawbeek, AL with Bro. Faron Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Bowman Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for funeral expenses.

Mr. Thomas Clayton Ward Jr. age 80 passed away at his residence in Century FL. Wednesday December 13, 2023.
Mr. Ward was a life-long resident of Century FL. and was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired owner/operator of Thomas Ward Trucking, and retired Veteran of The United States Army where he served during the Vietnam era, serving alongside his late brother James L. “Booter” Ward.
In his spare time, Mr. Ward enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren which his love was unsurpassed.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years Kathy Ward of Century FL; stepson Scotty Hagan of Pensacola FL; daughters Debbie (Dennis) Finegan of Green Cove Springs, FL. Karen (Andy) Layton of Milton FL; brother Bennie (Jenny) Ward of Cantonment FL; Sisters Delois Brown of Bratt FL. Joyce Burkett of Byrneville FL. Barbara (Dennis) Kilcrease of Byrneville FL; grandchildren that were the light of his life Andrew (Taylor Hendrieth) Howell, Christina Finegan, Wesley (Brooke) Layton, Ashley Finegan, Delaney Hagan, Ian Hagan; several nieces and nephews, and a friend like family Jeff (Junia) Fisher of Flomaton, AL.
Mr. Ward is preceded in death by his father and mother Thomas Clayton Ward Sr. and Ruby Flowers Muse; first wife Margeret Ann Ward: brothers Byron “Bit” Martin, James L. “Booter” Ward.

Myra Jean Dole Steadham

Myra Jean Dole Steadham, 85, of Century, Florida passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023.
She grew up in Century, Florida where she worked at the county courthouse for 43 years. Living most of her life in Century and residing in Atmore, Alabama later in life.
She lived her life serving God and we take comfort in knowing she has finally reached her destination in Heaven and is now rejoicing with loved ones and friends who have gone before her. Just Imagine that reunion!
Myra always had a very affectionate smile who also took the time to see about family. She was choir director for many years at Beulah Chapel. She enjoyed her outdoor walks and also traveling to the mountains. She enjoyed her flowers, scrap booking, reading and studying the bible.
Myra was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. & Eva Dole; three brothers, Dickie, Billy and Edwin Dole; daughter, Donna Green; and her infant daughter.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Steadham of Atmore, Alabama; sons Eric (Sherry) Steadham of Jay, Florida, Dale (Susie) Steadham of Century, Florida, and Eddie (Debbie) Steadham of Eufaula, Alabama; daughters Sherry Diamond of Jay, Florida, and Shelia (James) Stinson of Eufaula, Alabama; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 6 sisters-in-laws & numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Tim Floyd officiating.
Burial will follow at Beulah Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Stephen John “Johnny” Gibbs

Stephen John “Johnny” Gibbs, 82 of Atmore, AL. passed away December 12, 2023 in Atmore. He was born to the late Buford A. and Evelyn Moring Gibbs on June 4, 1941 in Atmore.
He is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, his sisters Marcia Chambers, Sherry Morris, and Brenda Wade.
An Atmore Native, and graduate of the Escambia County High School Class of 1960, everyone knew and adored Johnny Gibbs. He was a friend and inspiration to all, and someone everyone knew they could count on. One of the hardest working men, dubbed the nickname “John Henry,” if anyone needed something done, help with a project, or just honest advice, they knew who to look to. In his early days, he was the owner and operator of Gibbs Timber Company, Inc. Thereafter, everyone knew they could find him helping his wife Julia at Buster’s Restaurant. Hardworking, honest, inspirational, and strong, he was a steadfast friend and confidant to everyone who knew him. Whether it be at Buster’s giving out suckers, coaching his grandchildren’s little league games, “fooling with the horses,” or helping a stranger change their tire, you could always count on Johnny to be there with a smile on his face, helping hand, and joke in mind. No matter the circumstances, he was someone to rely on and someone people looked forward to seeing and talking to. He also was a Scout Master for many years. An Army veteran, he served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard for many years, and was also a member of the Carney Masonic Lodge #549 in Atmore, AL and Abba Shrine in Mobile, AL., a Master Mason and member of The Scottish Rite of Freemasonry (32nd°). While he was very involved in his community and passionate about his many different endeavors throughout his life, his greatest love was his family, friends, and community. For him, it was an honor to be a person so many turned to for comfort, and a joy to be such a beloved member of his community. Whether it was “Dad” “Coach” “Friend” “Brother” “Sir” “Papa Johnny” and “Johnny,” he was always there with a listening ear, helping hand, and smile.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Julia Gibbs of Atmore, AL; son Steven J. (Sandy) Gibbs of Spanish Fort, AL. Two daughters, Stephanie (Ashley) Boothe of Fairhope, AL; Sarah Frances Thompson of Atmore, AL and his sister Girdielene
(Shine) Snyder of Mexia, AL. Grandchildren Jacob Gibbs, Jared Gibbs, Thomas(Allison Harris) Boothe, Ann-Margaret Boothe, Buster Thompson, Julia-Katheryn Thompson and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services and military honors will be held on Saturday December 16, 2023 at 11:00 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Debora Bishop and Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Wells, Jacob Gibbs, Jared Gibbs, Thomas Boothe, and Buster Thompson.
Visitation will be held at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home on December 16 from 10:00 – 11:00.

Herbert Eugene “Gene” Bailey

Herbert Eugene “Gene” Bailey, 78, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on December 8, 2023.
Gene was born on July 4, 1945 in Fort Walton Beach, FL to Dorothy and Hubert “Bill” Bailey. He recently retired after 27 years of combined military service.
Gene worked as a butcher, provided meals for his fellow veterans, and operated many concessions throughout the city. He was known as “Mean Gene,” and he took pride in his famous “Mean Gene” burgers. Gene rooted for the Florida State Seminoles and the Kansas City Chiefs, enjoyed traveling with his wife of 54 years, and spending time with his daughters and animals.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Steven Bailey and Allen Bailey; sister Rosetta Blauser.
Survivors include his loving wife Sherry Bailey; daughters Jennifer Trawick (partner Alicia Trawick) and Jamie Bailey-White (Ricky White); sister Carol Palmer; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 1 pm until a memorial service at 2 pm Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home on Beverly Parkway.
A committal service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 1:30 pm. Anyone in attendance is requested to arrive at Faith Chapel at 12:30 pm to join the funeral procession.
