Mr. Michael Ryan Fox, age 32, passed away, Tuesday, August 16, 2023, in Atmore, AL.
Mr. Fox enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed the holidays. He enjoyed going hunting with his dad and granddad. He always enjoyed playing some good video games.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael (Janet Hartner) Fox.
He is survived by his two daughters, one sister, Felicia M. Fox, of Cantonment, FL; grandparents, Elizabeth (Ronnie) Faulk, of Walnut Hill, FL; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday August 24, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Sister, Shelia Enfinger officiating.

Clinton Douglas Eugene Radford, age 29, of Atmore, AL passed away on August 20, 2023.
He was born on May 24, 1994 in Brewton, AL to Douglas and JoAnne Caraway Radford.
He cherished his time with his family. He enjoyed four-wheeler riding, hunting, fishing and trips to Bailey’s Creek. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Virginia Dare Radford, Clinton Bruce Radford, Dorothy Anne Caraway and James “Cobb” Caraway, and his sister, Virginia Anne Radford.
He is survived by his wife, Kylie Morgan Radford; his parents, Douglas and JoAnne Radford of Huxford, AL; his sisters, Patricia Dare Radford of Huxford, AL and Pamela Darline (Leslie) Cruit of Huxford, AL along with his niece and nephews, William, Michael, Gracie, Elliott and Kyle.

Edward Eugene “Billy” Bush answered the call of the Master of Breath on Thursday, August 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family as he went Home. Billy is preceded in death by his father Willis Bush, mother Edna Marie Godwin, sisters Margaret Beasley, Sybil Phelps, Louise Smith, Diane Little, and brothers Charles Bush and Hiram Bush. He is survived by wife of 68 years Addie Ruth Beasley Bush, sons Ken (Sharon) Bush, Byron (Sally) Bush, and daughter Cindy (Dan) Helms, grandchildren Curtis (Lisa) Bush, Kyna (Lalo) Magaña, Cely (Marvin) Morales, Leron (Tori) Bush, Cheryl Bush, Trina (Mark) Sizemore, and Kevin Augustine, great grandchildren Mikayla Bush, Chase and Tatyana Hulsey, Audrey Bush, Dustin Mitchell, Curtis Bush, Jr., Ethan and Miley Magaña, Cydney Sizemore, Skyler and Wyatt Morales, Emmy Dee and Theo Bush, expectant great-great grandchildren Addie Ruth Bush and Xander Andrew Mitchell, brothers Joe and Wayne Bush, sisters Rose Hutchinson, Alice Toohill, and Vivian Douglass, and a great many nieces and nephews. Billy was born in Covington County, Alabama where he helped his parents provide for their large family by farming alongside his father. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War before moving to Pensacola, Florida where he worked as a Mechanic Supervisor at Monsanto Textile Company for 32 years. After retiring from Monsanto, he worked as Warehouse Supervisor at Gulf Coast Marine and several part-time jobs for several years before fully retiring to devote full time to work on his “Honey Do” list. Billy was a member of Stokes Lodge F&AM Grand Lodge of Alabama for 68 years, the Scottish Rite Valley of Pensacola, Union No. 7 York Rite, R&SM, No. 6 Mount Horeb RAM, Coeur De Lion Commandry #1 Knights Templar, San Carlos Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, Spirit of Truth Tabernacle LXXI Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar, and Order of the Eastern Star No. 244 for 55 years. He was also a Beloved Elder of the Santa Rosa Band of the Lower Muscogee Indian tribe. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Billy was a beacon of strength, love, and wisdom for his family and the community. He and his Wife Ruth together built a life full of memories, love, and laughter. As the patriarch of the Bush family, Billy exemplified hard work, dedication, and unwavering love. Family always remained his top priority. He was a cornerstone, always there to offer advice, share a story, or lend a helping hand. Billy loved to laugh and have fun with his family and friends. He enjoyed working outdoors and he could figure out how to fix anything. He also loved good food and was known to carry a fork in his shirt pocket just in case. Billy’s legacy of love, tenacity, and kindness will forever be etched in the memories of all who knew him. He was not just the patriarch of the Bush family but also a stalwart pillar of the community. He will be sorely missed but his teachings and values will live on for generations to come.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30AM on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Dr. Dale Patterson and Rev. Ronald Beasley officiating. Interment will be in Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Rose Marie McGhee, age 68, of Poarch, AL passed away on August 22, 2023 in Poarch, AL.
She was born on March 6, 1955 in Florence, AL to Otis and Clara Butler McGhee. Rose was a member of Poarch Baptist Church and the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. During her career, she worked for a Cookie Factory in Chicago, IL, and later with Vanity Fair Corporation and as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Teresa Lee Jay; her brother, Harold McGhee; her grandson, Patrick Jay and her granddaughter, Rebecca.
She is survived by her son, James Ivy of TN; her daughter, Jessica Ivy of Poarch, AL; her brothers, Otis McGhee, Jr. of Brewton, AL and Christopher (Denise) Johnson of Cherokee, AL; her sister, Renee (Pernell) Blackwell of Leesburg, AL; special cousins, Sandra Steverson, Willie Faye Thomas, Connie Vickery and Patricia Wessel; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; numerous family and friends. She was loved by the Poarch Community.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Poarch Baptist Church with Speaker Eric Steverson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill

Fred Frank Hicks resident of McDavid, Florida passed away on August 21, 2023 at the age of 94. Mr. Hicks was born in Barth, Florida on March 4, 1929 to the late Frank Hicks and Edna Bush Hicks. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and worked at St. Regis Paper Mill for 34 years.
He was a member of Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Kathryn Abramovich Hicks.
He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda H. (Brian) Bruley; son, Edward J. (Valerie) Hicks; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and his last living sibling, Linda H. Perry.
Funeral Services will be Friday, September 1, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church, McDavid, FL. Visitation will be one hour prior at 10 a.m.. Interment will follow in Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Willie Edward Holland

Willie Edward Holland, known to all as “Sonny,” passed away August 16, 2023. He was born September 23, 1941 in Muscogee, Florida. As a youngster, he spent summers working with his uncle Jim in Orange Beach, AL. Uncle Jim owned Hudson Marina where Sonny developed his love for commercial fishing.
At 16 years of age, Sonny joined the United States Army and served for 4 years. He served one tour of duty in Viet Nam. After being out of the Army for a few months, Sonny joined the United States Air Force and served 3 more years for a total of 8 years in the service of our great country.
Sonny started Long Haul Trucking after his time in service. While working in the trucking business, he met his true love, Gloria Medley and they married in 1970. Sonny retired in 2011 from Seminole Express, and he and Gloria enjoyed retirement life for the last 12 years.
Sonny is preceded in death by his father, Richard Holland, and mother, Annie Mae Hardy Holland; his brother, Hubert Holland and his sister, Jean Holland; 2 grandchildren, Brian Grist and Stacy Grist.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gloria; his daughter Anna Marie Grist; his grandson, Matthew Grist and one great granddaughter, Arwen Wood. He is also survived by his sister, Yvonne Hendrix (Bill); his aunts, Elsie Manning, Margie Kennedy, and Helen Allen; along with many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.
To know Sonny was to love him. He was an honest man who was loyal to his wife, his family, and his friends. He will be missed, but he is in Heaven, and we will be with him again.
Family visitation begins at 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North (1000 Hwy 29 South, Cantonment, Florida 32533). Memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. There will be no public viewing.
Sonny will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery at a time and date that has not been set.

Una Annette “Ann” Godwin Miller, age 90, of Ringgold, GA passed away on August 16, 2023 in Dalton, GA. She was born on November 1, 1932 in Oak Grove, FL to Lawrence Floyd Godwin and Annie Leona Greer Godwin. She cherished trips with her husband to the mountains. She also loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sewing. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert F. Miller, Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Miller and her siblings, Evelyn, Hazel, Janice, Windell and Louis.
She is survived by children: Robert (Tammy) Miller, Brenda (Carlos) Ferley, Eddie Miller, and Michael (Patty) Miller; twelve grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Harold Ray Brown, age 80, passed away, Thursday, August 17, 2023, at his home in Atmore, AL; surrounded by his loving family. He has resided most of his life in McDavid, FL; before moving to Atmore. He was an Elder and Pastor of Union Primitive Baptist Church.
Mr. Brown enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching and taking all the kids to all their sporting events He always enjoyed sitting down to watch a good western.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Van Daw (Maggie Hall) Brown, one son, Steven A. Brown, four brothers, Van Brown, Jr; Isaac Brown, Edward Brown, Harvey Brown, four sisters, Shirley, Effie, Ida Mae, and Dorris.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Oleta Brown, of Atmore, AL; one son, Gerald Brown, of Atmore, AL; one daughter, Cynthia (Chris) Smith, of Warner Robbins, GA; one brother, Troy (Betty) Brown, of McDavid, FL; daughter in-law, Angie Brown, of Pensacola, FL; nine grandchildren, Derek Brown, Katie Miliam, Roy Brown, Carrie Simonye, Tammie Stump, Jackson Smith, Kendal Smith, Presleigh Smith, Ella Smith, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

Osmond Charles ‘Bo’ Sharpless

Osmond Charles “Bo” Sharpless, 92, a native son of Cantonment Florida, passed away on August 13, 2023 after a brief illness.
Bo was born June 14, 1931 at his family home on the corner of Old Palafox and Diamond Dairy Road [now Burgess Road]. His parents were Osmond Sharpless of West Chester, Pennsylvania and Nannie Mae Braxton of Cottage Hill, Florida. He was raised with his two sisters, Dorothy Sharpless Kinne [now deceased], and Barbara Buckendorf. He was a 1948/1949 graduate of Tate High School, served in the US Army in Germany, and graduated from Florida State University in 1956. After marrying his wife of 58 years, Lois Dean Lewis of Florala, Alabama (who passed away earlier this year), they raised five children together; Diane Capers (Tommie), Susan Grantham, Gary Richards [now deceased] (Myrtle), Steve Richards (Cindy), and Sam Sharpless (Jennifer). To support this young family, Bo simultaneously worked full-time shiftwork at the Monsanto Nylon Plant, as part time soldier in the Florida National Guard, as a basketball referee, and as a substitute high school teacher. Bo ultimately retired from Monsanto a supervisor and from the Florida National Guard as Command Sergeant Major. During retirement, Lois and Bo enjoyed square dancing, volksmarching, and traveling together. They enjoyed their four grandchildren, Katie O’Neil, Jennifer Grantham, Stephanie Brown-Richards, and Carlson Sharpless; and his extended family including Jon Allen and Robbie Adams. Bo Sharpless had a lifelong association with the Boy Scouts of America, beginning as a “lone scout” even before the formation of Troop 20 in Cantonment. In scouting, he earned the titles of Eagle Scout, Ranger Explorer, Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, and Silver Beaver while mentoring countless young scouts in their lives and scouting careers. His lifetime of service included being a dedicated teacher, a postman, a tireless volunteer for the Red Cross, and serving in countless leadership positions at multiple churches and throughout multiple scouting organizations.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Gonzalez Methodist Church with Pastor Andy Perry officiating.
The family will receive friends at 1PM prior to services.
Burial will take place in Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 11AM.

Roy Dowling “Buddy” Godwin, age 88, of Oak Grove, FL passed away on August 11, 2023.
He was born on December 3, 1934 in Oak Grove, FL to Edgar Clayton and Bertie LeonaGodwin. Buddy was a graduate of Ernest Ward Class of 1952 and served in the United States Air Force. He was a retired electrician with Champion and a lifetime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was the overseer of Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery and the Oak Grove Community Center. Buddy was known as one of the Oak Grove Historians and was a leader of the Oak Grove 4-H Club. He enjoyed farming and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Bobbie June Ward Godwin, his son, Dwight Godwin, and his siblings, Armontine “Tina” Biggs, Julian William Godwin and his infant sister, Mary Evelyn Godwin.
He is survived by his wife Marvette Pullen Godwin; his sons: Doug (Vicki) Godwin of OakGrove, FL, Lamar (René) Godwin of Oak Grove, FL, Ryan (Crystal) Godwin of Oak Grove, FL and Mark (Lois) Dean of Oak Grove, FL; his daughter-in-law, Judy Godwin, his sisters, Joyce Fore of Robinsonville, AL and Betty Ann (Donald) Dennis of Oak Grove, FL; his eighteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
