Mr. Frank Earl Godwin, age 81 of Glover Road in Century, Florida, passed away Wednesday morning November 22, 2023, at his Century address. Mr. Godwin was a native of Brewton and lifelong resident of the Century area. He was a retired from Kimberly Clark in the Woods department, was a welder, cabinet maker, and attended the House of Prayer Holiness Church in the Appleton Community. Mr. Godwin was past president of the Blue Branch Hunting Club and was a 1959 graduate of Century High School. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford F. Godwin and Mary Frances Welch Godwin; sister, Clarice Watson; brother, Phillip Wayne Godwin.
Mr. Godwin is survived by his daughter, Angela (Tommy Lee) Johnson of Flomaton; 3 brothers, Jerry (Linda) Godwin of Century, Danny (Enola) Godwin of Scottsboro, AL, Randall (Tammy) Godwin of Scottsboro, AL; sister, Barbara (Aubrey) Carroll of Westville, FL; 3 grandchildren, Austin (Kailynne) Johnson of the Pineview Community, Shyanne Johnson of Century, Caitlyn Johnson of Century; 2 great-grandchildren, Anna Grace Johnson, Jase Johnson.
Funeral services for Mr. Frank Earl Godwin will be held Sunday November 26, 2023, at 2 P.M. from the Chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Brother Chris Carroll, Brother Nathaniel Roach and Brother Tommy Lee Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery with FLOMATON FUNERAL HOME OF FLOMATON DIRECTING.
Visitation will be held Sunday November 26, 2023, from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. service time at Flomaton Funeral Home.

, age 60, born in Limestone, ME and a resident of Stockton, AL died Saturday, November 18, 2023 at his residence. He was the owner of R&J Painting.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Penny Miller Stewart of Stockton, AL; his children, Warren M. “W.M.” Stewart of Bay Minette, AL, Jodi Marlena (Jonathan) Singleton of Perdido, AL, Jacob Allen Hattamer of Colorado, Forrest Denise Harris of Bay Minette, AL and Devin Cintheny Harris of Lillian, AL; his mother, Pricilla (George) Dunn of Cantonment, FL; one sister, Tina Lynae (Mack) Hadley of Stockton, AL; ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father, W.M. Stewart; a brother, Leonard Leroy Stewart and a grandson, Damian Stewart Singleton.
A gathering of friends and family will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.

Ada Clarice Chaney, 89 of Cantonment, Florida passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023. She was born in Mississippi on December 24, 1933 to Fletcher and Davie Lee Gilbert.
Clarice retired as a teacher for children with special needs. She was a Christian and a member of Cottage Hill United Methodist Church. She was the matriarch of her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Anita Gabriel and Hilda Clanton (Henry); and her brother, Alton Gilbert.
She is survived by her best friend and love of her life, Jim Horne; her sons, James Chaney, Jr., Timothy Chaney, and Paul Chaney (Cris); and daughter, Linda Meredith; grandchildren, Jason, Emily, Olivia, Malcolm, Crysta, and Ryan; 2 great-grandchildren, Leah and Asher; nieces, Carla Miller (Charlie), Sherry Harris (Mike); nephews, Randy Gabriel (Debbie), Lindsay Gabriel (Brenda), Scott Clanton (Maria), Chris Clanton (Magda), and David Clanton.
Visitation services for Ada Clarice Chaney will be held at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North (1000 South Highway 29, Cantonment, FL 32533) at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2023.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor David Cook officiating.
Clarice will be laid to rest at Philadelphus Presbyterian Cemetery in Waynesboro, Mississippi.

Mrs. Jacqueline Jane “Jackie” Calloway, age 75 of Century Fl passed away Thursday afternoon surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Calloway was a native of South Carolina, and a lifetime resident of Century FL. She owned and operated Calloway’s Store in Century, FL for many years. After retirement, she enjoyed spending all her time loving on her children and grandchildren. She loved to sew and crochet, along with caregiving to others. Mrs. Calloway was of the Baptist faith and attended Poplar Dell Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Floyd Calloway of Century, FL; sons, Michael (Lisa) Calloway of Century, FL, Tommy (Megan) Calloway of Century, FL, Stephen (Stacey) Calloway of Century, FL; daughter, Tammy (Glen) Reid of Century, FL; grandchildren, Samantha, Rebecca, Katelynne, Zac, Logan, Maddie, Brooke, Codie, River, Brittany, Austin, Shila, Courtney, Meagan, and Zac. great-grandchildren, Dylan, Harper, Bentley, Clayton, Lawson, Fletcher, Walker, Remi, Zaiden, Zaylee, Phoenix, King, Kash, Cason, and Sam. Along with special niece, Teresa Kleakley.
Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Elta Crow Phillips; brothers, Jim Phillips, and Johnny Phillips; sisters, Julia Dennings, and Judy Smith.

Mrs. Alene Godwin Kelly, age 80, passed away, Monday, November 20, 2023 in Pensacola, Florida. She was born on August 7, 1943 in Bay Minette, Alabama, preceding her in death, her parents Houston Marion and Lois Jones Godwin, along with 3 brothers Jesse Marion Godwin, Sonny Godwin and Stanley Godwin.
She had a passion for quilting and sewing making many different things throughout the years. Crocheting and baking cakes was also a favorite past time. She also enjoyed spending time with family.
Mrs. Godwin is survived by her husband, Curtis J Kelly of Atmore, Alabama; 2 sons, Alan Kelly of Pensacola, Florida and Chris Kelly (Victoria) of Canoe, Alabama; daughter, Janet James of Atmore, Alabama; brother, Billy Joe Godwin of Miami, Florida; 4 sisters, Bonnie Mae Wright of Bay Minette, Alabama, Hilda Godwin of Perdido, Alabama, Marie Tuberville, of Perdido, Alabama, and Betty Matthews of Bay Minette, Alabama; 6 grandchildren Derrek Gibson, Tori Gibson, Trinity Gibson, Daylin Gibson, Grace Kelly and Gabe Kelly; 3 great grandchildren, Charity, Lilly and Maggie.

Vickie A. Boyette, age 66, of Atmore, AL passed away on November 12, 2023. She was born on September 13, 1957 in Eustis, FL. She was a member of the Church of the Living God in Atmore. She was a school bus driver with the Escambia County Alabama School System for eleven years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elisha Edward Gay, Jr. and Lillian Odell Gay; her grandson, Griffin Parker Boyette and her sister, Voncile Burkett.
She is survived by her husband of over 48 years, Daniel Boyette of Atmore, AL; her son, Mitchell (Amanda) Boyette of Saraland, AL; her brother, Charles Cole of Pensacola, FL; her sisters, Kim Reents of Pensacola, FL, Lydia Fleming of Pensacola, FL and Trudy

Leonard Smith

Leonard Smith, 89, of Cantonment, Florida passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Leonard was born June 27, 1934 in Bainbridge, Georgia. He was the owner of American Air-Conditioning and Heating Company. He was a member of Olive Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and taught 2nd grade Sunday School for many years. He was also a member of Gideons International and a longtime member of the “Elders”, a Gospel Quartet that performed in area churches.
Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Emma Smith, and his brothers, Sam, Willis, Hubert, and Julian Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Lynelle Smith; daughters, Phebe A. Scully (Stanley) and Sue Hughes (Michael); son, Eddie Smith (Joy); grandchildren, Ryan Scully (Monica), Shane Scully (Melissa), Jarrett Scully (Cali); Briana Fails (Ben), Caleb Smith (Jackie), Joshua Smith; Joshua Hughes (Kathleen), Chase Hughes (Lillie); 8 great children; and his bonus family, Marcia Hite, Jim Hite, James Hite (April), Morgan Davis (Jacob), Harris Hite, and Abigail Hite.

Dan A. Currie, Jr.

Dan A. Currie, Jr., died peacefully on November 19, 2023, he was 73 years old.
The only child of the late Dan A Currie, Sr. and Audie Marie Steele Currie, he is survived by his Beloved wife Rhecy L. Currie, his daughter Sheena-Marie C. Rosenbaum, and his son Daniel A. Currie, III.
Dan was a 1969 graduate of Sewanee Military Academy and he attended Birmingham-Southern College before joining the United States Army in 1971. He served with the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment in Nurnberg and Bindlach, Germany and was honorably discharged in 1974. He lived there until 1976 when he returned to Atmore and began his 32-year career with the Atmore Fire Department. Dan continued his education at the then Faulkner State Community College before transferring to Troy State University where he received Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration and History in 1978 and 1980.
In the fall of 1980 Dan enrolled in Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham and spent the next 3 years there before graduating with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1983. Following law school, Dan returned to the Atmore Fire Department and retired as a Fire Captain in 2012. As he said, the passion of the Law did not match the excitement of Fire Service. In 1990 Dan married Rhecy L. Lebumfacil, a teacher from the Philippines, and they had two wonderful children. The oldest, Capt. Sheena-Marie C. Rosenbaum, is an Intelligence Officer with the USAF, and his son Daniel A. “Trey” Currie, III.
During his retirement he worked as an E911 Dispatcher with the Poarch Police Department and continued as the Senior Instructor of the Golden Dragons Taekwondo at the Atmore area YMCA which he founded in 2007. He was a member of the Patriot Guard and rode with both the Northwest Florida and the Southwest Alabama Chapters and the Honda ST-Owners Sport Touring Group.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 2:00 PM at St. Roberts Catholic Church with Father, Joseph Chacko officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC.

William Haywood Rowland

Mr. William Haywood Rowland, age 82 of Wagon Wheel Road in Flomaton, passed away Monday November 20, 2023, at his Flomaton residence. He was a native of Jay, Florida and a former resident of Wewahitchka, Florida before moving to Flomaton in 1978. Mr. Rowland owned and operated Rowland’s Tires in Flomaton from 1978-2006. He was a graduate of Jay High School Class of 1959 and was a member of Jay First Baptist Church. Mr. Rowland was a lifelong member of “The Romeo’s” (Real Old Men Eat Out) Motorcycle Club, Avid Alabama Crimson Tide Football Fan, and enjoyed NASCAR Racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burnice Milburn Rowland and Mary Lois Batchelor Rowland, brothers, Harold and Joe Max Rowland, great-grandson, Mason Rowland.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Shelly Rowland of Flomaton; son, Jon Malett (Julie) Rowland of Atmore; daughter, Ginya “Bunkie” (Gary) Murph of Flomaton; 3 stepsons, Jamie (Sonya) Barnes of Bluff Springs, Jeremy (Lisa) Barnes of Bluff Springs, Joshua Barnes of Lisbon, North Dakota; 15 grandchildren, Christopher (Eva) Rowland of Atmore, Jordan (Melanie) Rowland of Brewton, Devon Johnson of Opp, Savannah Fullerton of Atmore, Addison White of Atmore, Brayson White of Atmore, Cody Barnes of Mobile, Hunter Barnes of Bogia, River Barnes of Brewton, Charlie Jo Barnes of Brewton, Carson Ikner of Excel, Gracie Ikner of Excel, Keylon Ikner of Excel, Noah Ikner of Excel, Zack Ikner of Brewton; 7 great grandchildren and a special German Shepard name Rip.

Mrs. Rosemarie Brigitte Dargetz Langley, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023at her daughters’ home. She was born in Germany where she met the love of her life, Walter Leon Langley, while he was in service over there. They were married 58 years when he passed in March of 2015. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Lee Langley, her grandson, Jacob Dale Lisenby. Mrs. Langley retired from the school system after 25 years and enjoyed her home time.
Mrs. Langley loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very good cook and had a very affectionate smile. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and watching Fox News. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and going on walks in the outdoors
She is survived by her two children, Raymond (Linda) Langley, Angela (Marlin) Gunn, two grandchildren, Jeremy (Monica) Lisenby, Karl Langley, two great-grandchildren, Lane Lisenby, Jakelyn Lisenby, seven step-grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held, Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC.
Graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Rev. Rickey Tedder officiating.
