James Arnold Peterson, 76, of Pensacola, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2025.
James is survived by his daughters, Melony and Tiffany Peterson; five grandsons, James (Kayla) Thornton, River Peterson, Levi Black, Nathaniel Black, and Oaklynn Black; four great-grandchildren, James Thornton, Kendra Thornton, Kimber D’Acquisto, and Kylie D’Acquisto.
His life was a testament of his unwavering faith, commitment to family and friends, and strength of character. These values will continue to inspire his loved ones for generations to come.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in recognition of his service as a proud Vietnam veteran.
His life will be celebrated at Faith Chapel North on Saturday, May 31, at 1:00 p.m.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the profound sorrow we are experiencing as we navigate this unimaginable loss.
Mr. Kameron Austin Davis, who was 31 years old, sadly passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in Atmore, Alabama. Born in Pensacola, Florida, Kameron spent most of his life in Atmore, where he formed many friendships and connections. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him and loved him.
He loved to tinker on cars, low rider trucks, diving into paint and body work to make them shine. When he was not in the garage, you could find him drawing or enjoying some thrilling drag racing. Music filled his days, setting the perfect backdrop as he played video games. Spending time with his family, especially his little girl, is what made him happiest. Though he was laid back, he had a strong will and always ready to lend a helping hand to those around him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Felton Jones, and Ingrid McHenry.

Dora Jennifer “Jenny” Oliver, age 72, passed away on April 29, 2025. Jenny was born to Preston and Alice Nell Jackson Hall on March 14, 1953, in Atmore, AL, and lived her entire life in Perdido, Alabama. She was a faithful member of Hall’s Fork Assembly of God. Jenny was a retired medical secretary with Holman and Fountain Correctional Facility, and later was the secretary of Atmore Memorial Chapel.
Jenny is preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Nell Hall; her first husband, Anthony Hadley; her son, Jonathon Oliver; and her brother, Tommy Hall.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Ronald Oliver; her children: Angie (Jerry) Cowart of Pine Grove, AL, Tammy (Chris) Chandler of Monroeville, AL, Jimmy (Sheila) Oliver of Tulsa, OK and Shay (Jerry) Stankewitz of Poteau, OK; her brothers, Rayford Hall of Mobile, AL and Clifford Hall of Perdido, AL; her grandchildren: Jessica (Blake) Bossard of Flomaton, AL, Tonya (Marcus) Loftis of Lottie, AL, Brittany (Ian) Reach of McDavid, FL, Brianna (Josh) Brown of Atmore, AL and Brian Cowart of Pine Grove, AL; her great-grandchildren: Brayden Harrelson, Ashlyn Loftis, Kinzleigh Loftis all of Lottie, AL, Jonathan Cowart and Katie Reach of McDavid, FL, Ezra Brown of Atmore, AL, Alana and Brooklyn Bossard of Flomaton, AL along with a host of family and friends.

Alice Mae Campbell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alice Mae Campbell (Grannie), who departed this life peacefully on April 26, 2025, at the age of 94. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend, Alice leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength.
A lifelong resident of McDavid, Florida, Alice lived a full and meaningful life, marked by her unwavering dedication to family, her deep sense of compassion, and her quiet resilience. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome, whether through a warm meal at her table or a compassionate word of prayer.
Alice was the matriarch of her family for many decades, always doing for others in need. She retired from the Escambia County school system as a bus driver after 30 years of faithful service. Alice was dedicated to the Lord and her church family where she was the oldest living member of Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her spouse of 34 years, Buddy Campbell: their son – Mike Campbell and six siblings.
Mrs. Alice is survived by her brother – Joe Attaway; two daughters – Pat Spicer and Marie (Bob) Brock. She was a loving grandmother to Stephanie Morgan, Wendy (Ed) Armstrong, Mandy (Larry) Kinley, Casey Rice, Alicia McGhee, April (Daniel) White, and Katie (David) Jones. She was a great-grandmother to 28 and a great-great-grandmother to 13, all of whom carry her memory in their hearts.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the memories we will forever cherish.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Flomaton Brown Service Funeral Home in Flomaton, Alabama, with Bro. Nathan Brown officiating. Visitation will be at 10am until 11:00 am service time. Interment will follow at Ray’s Chapel Cemetery.

Maxine May Ivey

age 91, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Jay, Florida surrounded by her family and friends.
Maxine, also known as “Meme” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, was born on October 5th, 1933, in Jay, FL, during a time when the country was still recovering from the Great Depression. She was raised in a hardworking farming family, where despite the economic hardships, their lifestyle ensured the table was always full. Life on the farm shaped Maxine’s incredible work ethic and kindness, traits that she carried throughout her life. In 1951, Maxine graduated from Jay High School and married the love of her life, Grady Donald Ivey. Together, Maxine and Donald built a wonderful life in the Jay area. Though they didn’t continue farming, their rural upbringing shaped their love for the outdoors – especially Maxine’s favorite pastime: bass fishing.
Maxine became a Licensed Practical Nurse with Surgical Training and worked beside Donald, the Jay Hospital Administrator, for many years. Her nursing career was only the beginning of a lifelong commitment to helping others. After retirement from nursing, Maxine’s hard-working nature moved her into another career working for the Northwest Florida Agency for Aging, where she served as acting president. Maxine also became the Executive Director of the Northwest Florida Rural Health Network. These achievements allowed Maxine to do what she loved most, helping people and her community. Maxine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jay, Fl for 59 years and was always involved with church activities, especially with the youth and church finances. Her love of community extended further as she served as a city council member for 28 years. During those years, she was able to facilitate vital grants that benefited the Jay area.
Although Maxine was very engaged with her church and community, her biggest love was for her family. Ball games, graduations, trips, events, etc., Meme would always be present. She made sure that her family knew she was just a phone call away and her home was their home. Maxine is survived today by three devoted sons: Keith, Craig, and Michael. Her special daughters-in-law; Vicki, Deidra, Pamela and Toddie Milstead. Her nephew Gary May, wife Dixie. Her pride and joy; five grandchildren: Ashley, Ryan, Meagan, Morgan, and Jessie. She was also blessed with six sweet, special, spoiled and energetic great-grandchildren: Grayden, Grady, Kenyard or aka (Peanut), Nico, Elle and Everett. Maxine is preceded in her journey home by her father Cecil May, mother Gertrude May Sprow and her stepfather Karl Sprow. Her husband Grady Donald Ivey and son Terry Dewayne Ivey. Also, her brother Ray May, sister-in-law Jean May, their son Chris May and one grandson Scott (Chip) Wallace.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have helped celebrate Maxine’s remarkable life. Her vibrant spirit, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family and Jay community will be profoundly missed. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Smith, Debbie Hayes, the entire Jay Medical and Jay Hospital staff for the excellent care they provided Maxine. They are the best. Also, to Dr. Brett Smith at the North Florida Bone and Joint Clinic.

Mr. Alan Cole Presley, age 65, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Perdido, AL; where he has lived most of his life. Before his retirement, he was employed as an equipment operator in the construction industry.
Mr. Presley had a passion for fishing, hunting, motorcycles, tinkering with gadgets, gardening, and working with tractors. He enjoyed cruising along the roads with his friends. His affection for family and friends was immense, often filling his life with laughter and chaos. He cherished spending time with his grandkids, sitting on the porch while observing the dance of the wind and clouds.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Presley and Annie Sue Killcreas, one brother, Kent Presley, and his grandparents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Sophie Presley, of Perdido, AL; two daughters, Paige Presley, of Perdido, AL; Hillary Presley (Frankie) of Morristown, TN; three brothers, Faron (Lynn) Presley, of Bay Minette, AL; Troy Presley, of Perdido, AL; Tyson (Christy) Presley, of Perdido, AL; three sisters, Kathy Presley, of Pensacola, FL; Pam Presley, of Perdido, AL; Tonya Presley, of Daphne, AL; seven grandchildren, Aleiah, Jace, Raiah, Nova, Kyler, Orian, Estella other relatives and friends.

William “Edsol” Smith, 97, of Century, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born December 12, 1927, in Enterprise, Alabama, to John Loyd and Doris Lucille Smith, he was raised in Jay, Florida, and later became a proud and active member of the Century community.
Edsol was preceded in death by his first wife, Burtell Smith; his second wife, Josie Smith; his parents, John Loyd and McDaniel Smith; and his brothers, Harold and Clarence Smith.
He is survived by his siblings: Felton Smith, Max Ray Smith, Jimmy Smith, and Eunice Golden;
His daughter: Deborah (Garry) Dantzler of McDavid;
His grandchildren: Chris (Jerry) Croley of Molino, Bryan (April) Croley of Milton, Amy Croley of McDavid, and Stephanie (Matt) Gilmore of McDavid;
His great-grandchildren: Valorie Croley, Alexa Castro, Tyler Gilmore, Will Gilmore, Miles Croley, Parker Gilmore, Greta Croley, and Preston Croley.
A graduate of Jay High School, University of Florida and Mississippi College, Edsol carried a lifelong passion for learning—and for his beloved Florida Gators.
He devoted his life to education, serving as a visiting teacher, classroom teacher, coach, and principal. Generations of Century Blackcats were shaped by his mentorship, guidance, and leadership.
His service extended beyond the classroom. Edsol was a dedicated deacon of First Baptist Church of Century, a proud member of the Century Lion’s Club, Masonic Lodge, and Kappa Delta Pi. He gave generously to causes focused on youth wellness, missionary work, and supporting those in need.
In addition to his educational and spiritual service, Edsol was also the owner of Century Bail Bonds, which he ran with integrity and care until 2006.
Above all, Edsol was a man of great love—for his family, his community, and his Lord. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, and most deeply in the hearts of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored and inspired.
In his later years, Edsol was lovingly cared for by his daughter, Deborah. Their bond was one of deep devotion, built on years of mutual support, respect, and love. As Deborah cared for her father with tenderness and strength, he continued to be her source of wisdom and encouragement. Their relationship was a beautiful reflection of faith, family, and steadfast loyalty that carried them both through life’s seasons.

Margaret Rebecca Moring Jeter, 84, of Atmore, AL., passed away April 18, 2025 in Pensacola, FL.
Margaret was born on August 23, 1940 in Atmore, AL to Henry Moring and Ruby Langham Moring. After high school, Margaret attended Troy University where she received her Master’s Degree. Upon graduation, she became a first grade teacher at Huxford Elementary School where she taught for 25 years. Margaret was also a member at Presley Street Baptist Church.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother; H. Wayne Moring.
Margaret is survived by her husband; Rayford Earl Jeter, her sons; Tom Jeter of Atmore, AL., and Randy (Brenda) Jeter of LaGrange, GA.; her daughters; Diane (Robin) Baggett of Huxford, AL., and Linda (Gary) West of Atmore, AL. Beloved sister-in-law; Marcella Moring, and former daughter-in-law; Leeanna Jeter. Margaret is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Catherine Charlene Victor, age 53, passed away on April 17, 2025 in Pensacola, FL surrounded by her loving family.
Catherine was born on October 31, 1971 in Century, FL to Carl Starett, Sr. and Clara Belle Capers. She was a graduate of Ernest Ward High School and was a member of Beaulah Chapel Assembly of God. In her free time, Catherine enjoyed spending time with her grandbabies who were the light of her life.
Catherine is preceded in death by her mother; Clara Belle Starrett, her grandparents; George and Katie Mae Capers, her brother; Ricky Earl Rayborn, her niece; Kaitlyn Starrett, and her nephew; A.J. Smith.

Mr. Donald Lee Presley, who was 78 years old, passed away on April 17, 2025, in Century, Florida. He lived his life in Poarch, Alabama, where he was born and raised. Donald will be remembered by his family and friends for his kind spirit and the memories he created in his beloved hometown.
He was a proud member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians who enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved hunting and fishing, and often gathered with family to play cards and Monopoly. As an avid Alabama football fan, he eagerly watched games from his couch. His evenings often included classic shows like Gunsmoke and other westerns, along with a good laugh at The Price is Right. He cherished family time, especially during trips to the Smoky Mountains where he could savor delicious food and indulge in his favorite desserts. He also had a fun side, playing Santa Claus and Dracula for family gatherings, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He also loved doing jigsaw puzzles.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gillis and Myrtie McGhee Presley; daughter, Bridgette Plemmons; sister, Maurine Presley Cross Rolin; brothers, Chester Elvis Presley and Terry Woll.
