Judi Lynn McElhaney

Judi Lynn McElhaney, age 75, of Bratt, FL, passed away on January 1, 2025, in Pensacola, FL. She was born on November 23, 1949 in Atmore, AL to Buford “Bob” and Mildred Gibson Howell. She was a graduate of Escambia High School in Pensacola, FL. Judi was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and Grace Fellowship Church. Throughout her career, she was employed as a cosmetologist, teacher’s aide and dental assistant. Before retiring, she was a data clerk with PCI Enterprises. Judi loved spending time with her husband of 56 years, who she lovingly called “Mac”. She cherished her family and treasured the time she spent with her precious grandchildren. Judi was a generous person with a servant’s heart all because of her relationship with Jesus Christ.

Judi is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Jimmy Howell, Dawn Howell Davis, Phyllis Howell Miller, Ronald Howell and her grandson, Josiah Paul McElhaney.

Judi is survived by her husband, James C. McElhaney, Jr.; her son, Joshua McElhaney of Bratt, FL; her daughters, Candice McElhaney Dawe of Spanish Fort, AL and Stephani McElhaney Penn of Granite City, IL; her grandchildren, Claire, Lily, Jabe, James, Libby, Maevree, Lucy, Landry, Jesse, Marlee and along with numerous family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Atmore, AL with Rev. Corey Penn, Pastor Gene King and Pastor Glenn Weber officiating. Interment will follow in Bratt-Godwin Cemetery in Bratt, FL.

Active pallbearers will be Jabe Dawe, James McElhaney, Jesse McElhaney, Ronny Miller, Trevor Knighten, Chris McElhaney, Denver Schrock and Jake Penner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Ward, David Johnson, Ronnie Stabler, Calvin Schrock, Jim Weber, Curvin Hursh, Lester Huber, and James Helton.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Fellowship Church.

Jimmy Hayes Barnett

Jimmy Hayes Barnett, age 75, of Pensacola, Florida, left this world on December 21, 2024. He was born on October 2, 1949, in Bay Minette, Alabama, to Charlie and Hayes Barnett.

Jimmy served his country with pride for 32 years in the United States Army, from the Vietnam draft to a 2004 deployment in Iraq. He held a great sense of pride in the years and dedication he gave to his country.

He was the proud owner of Gateswood Sports Inc. from 1988 to 2008 and later served as grounds manager of ARC Gateway of Pensacola from 2010 until retiring in 2023.

Family was one of the most important things in Jimmy’s life as he helped begin a decades-long Jernigan family reunion happening every year to this day.

Jimmy was also an avid gardener and cultivator of many types of fruiting plants including pears, apples, muscadines, persimmons, figs, olives, and satsumas. His expertise was sought by many in the community. He also enjoyed spending time in the woods riding around with his brothers, feeding the deer, checking game cameras, and admiring everything nature had to offer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Barnett; his son, Patrick (Susie) Barnett; stepdaughters, Crystal and Christina Rayburn; his brothers, George (Anita) Barnett, Buddy (Vanessa) Barnett, and Joe (Glenda) Barnett; his sisters, Sue (Ed) Lane and Janie Quick; his sister-in-law, Debra Barnett; and countless adored nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie (Hayes, Mozelle) Barnett, and his brothers, Charlie (Janice) Barnett and younger brother Gene Barnett.

Ernestine M. Hudson 90 of Oak Grove, Fl. passed away December 22,2024 in Pensacola, Fl. She was born July 4, 1934 in Oak Grove, Fl. to the late Ernie and Annie Ofarrell Milstead. She was a 20 year employee at Ernest Ward High School in Walnut Hill, Fl. where her family grew expeditiously as she grew closer and closer to students and teachers alike. In retirement she loved traveling with her husband, A.J. as they wore out three motorhomes seeing the beauty of God’s creation throughout the United States and Canada. Her love of family and friends was only bested by her love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who she worshipped as a member of the Walnut Hill Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and numerous uncles and aunts.

She is survived by her three sons Paul (Merry) Hudson of Pensacola, Fl., Robert Hudson of Oak Grove, Fl., and Edward (Sharon) Hudson of Oak Grove, Fl. Grandchildren Kim (Jamie) Brown, Joshua (Deanna) Hudson. Brandy (Steven) White, Neil (Phuong) Hudson, Ashley Hudson, Ryan Hudson and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ted Bridges officiating.

Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Robert Milstead, Bob Stone, Jerry Poulsen, Jamie Brown, Neil Hudson and Michael Milstead.

Paula Jean Langford

Paula Jean Langford of Molino, Florida; beloved wife, mother, and grandmother; passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024. She was born in Pensacola on August 6, 1954, to Paul and Geraldine Houston.

In 1971 she married the love of her life Collen Langford Jr. During their 53 years together, they had the tremendous honor and opportunity to travel and serve in many duty stations throughout Collen’s Navy service. During this time Paula and Collen raised their two wonderful sons. She served for many years as a teacher’s assistant and office aide for Escambia County Schools and later she retired from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office where she worked alongside her husband.

Paula was active in her church, the Lathram Chapel United Methodist Church. Her love and light will be greatly missed by the congregation. Her family is comforted by the knowledge that Paula was at peace in her relationship with the Lord; she wanted all of her friends and family to know that as she enters the gates of heaven “I’ll be young again when I get over there. No more illness or pain. Thank you, Jesus, for saving my soul.”

She is survived by her loving husband Collen; her sons, Dennis (Christina) Langford and Collen III (Jodie) Langford; her four beautiful grandchildren, Dominick, Allison, Sadie, and Jack; sister, Sue Hill; and brothers, Patrick and Randall Houston.

A service will be held to honor Paula on December 30, 2024, at The Lathram Chapel United Methodist Church 2690 Jacks Branch Road, Cantonment, FL 32533 at 12 pm, followed immediately by a reception and celebration of her life in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Paula’s name to The Lathram Chapel.

Morgan Kelly Womack

Our precious Morgan went to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 14, 2024. She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul, we know she is completely healed and in the arms of Jesus. She loved life and was able to do so many amazing things in her 29 years. She loved music and played in the Excel Marching Band of Gold. She was a Girl Scout and graduated from Excel High School in 2014. Morgan loved animals and volunteered at the Atmore Animal Shelter after graduation and eventually started her own pet sitting business. She loved to travel with her family and was able to travel many places from the east coast to the west coast. But the thing she loved the most was her family, her church family and her precious boyfriend of 10 years, Aaron. Morgan loved her Lord and Savior with all of her heart and soul and shared that love with everyone she met. She was a prayer warrior. To know her was to love her.

Morgan is preceded in death by her grandparents, Hoover and Jenelle Hall, and J.D. Womack.

Morgan is survived by her parents, David and Janet Hall Womack of Atmore, AL; her grandmother, Ercell Womack; her sister, Shelly (Ryan) Lambert of Oak Grove, FL; her niece and nephew, Mary-Ann Lambert and John Lambert along with her loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Unity Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Long officiating.

Interment was in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Oak Grove, FL.

Active pallbearers were Ryan Lambert, Kevin Holland, Ryan James, Brandon Strawbridge, Bobby Wooten, David Lambert, Frank Williams and Dwight Griffith.

Donations can be made to a ministry organization such as Pilots for Christ in Morgan’s honor.

Mr. Frank “Butch” Lambeth

Mr. Frank “Butch” Lambeth, age 69, passed away, Monday, December 16, 2024, in Flomaton, AL; surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 12, 1955 and a native of Flomaton, AL. He was the Lumber Manager of Bondurant’s with many years of service. He attended Liberty Baptist Church.

Mr. Lambeth loved spending his time outdoors, whether it was hunting in the early morning or fishing at the river. He enjoyed playing softball with friends and relaxing while watching western movies and cheering for Alabama football. Gardening was one of his favorite hobbies; he took pride in planting vegetables and sharing his harvest with family and neighbors. Always a handy man, he loved tinkering and fixing things around the house. Family cookouts were special occasions for him, where he would fry fish and cook other delicious dishes, creating wonderful memories with loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Morrell and Willie Kate Whitfield Lambeth, one brother, Thomas Ray Lambeth, and one sister, Joyce Ann Richburg.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Teresa Lambeth, of Flomaton, AL; one son, Joshua Morrell (Brittany) Lambeth, of Flomaton, AL; one daughter, Hailey Moriah Lambeth (Nick) Linam, of McCullough, AL; two sisters, Patricia Gail Thomas, of Century, FL; Elizabeth Kay Carnley, of Flomaton, AL; four grandchildren, Conner, McKenzie, Brooks, Brody, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC. with and Rev. Andy Boutwell officiating.

Burial will follow at Lambeth- Boutwell Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC.

Mary Frances Bowles

Mary Frances Bowles, age 88, of Flomaton, Alabama, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, at a nursing home in Pensacola, Florida. Born on November 29, 1936, in Brewton, Alabama, she was a lifelong resident of Flomaton, where she devoted much of her life to her family, church, and community. She was known by those most familiar with her as Frances.

Frances was a principal owner of Flomaton Wholesale Company, a business founded by her parents, Clifford P. and Erma Hendricks, when she was just a young girl. The company, which operated from 1946 to 1996, was an integral part of the local economy and a testament to her family’s hard work and dedication. Frances worked alongside her parents and later her husband, Charles Bowles, to ensure its continued success, playing a key role in the business until its closure.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Charles Bowles, and her parents, Clifford P. and Erma Hendricks.

She is survived by her children, Ann Rawlinson (Jimmy) of Cantonment, FL, and Mike Bowles (Alison) of Jonesboro, GA; her grandchildren, Ashley Steele (Jeff) of Pensacola, FL, and Jamie Nisewonger (Timothy) of Pensacola, FL; and her precious great-grandchildren, Holleigh and Olivia.

A devoted member of the Flomaton Methodist Church, Frances was actively involved in many community efforts, including preparing Thanksgiving meals for the elderly and shut-ins. Her faith and generosity extended far beyond the church, as she supported various local organizations. She was a longtime member of the Flomaton Garden Club, reflecting her love of gardening, and the Flomaton Research Club, where she worked to support local initiatives, including scholarships for high school students.

A proud graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Home Economics, Frances enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and bringing people together. Her home was always filled with warmth, hospitality, and delicious meals, making it a cherished gathering place for family and friends.

Frances’ kindness, strength, and devotion to her family and community will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all whose lives she touched.

A service to celebrate Frances life will be held at Flomaton Cemetery in Flomaton, AL, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the United Methodist Children’s Home.

She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Annie Ruth Bryan

Annie Ruth Bryan, age 85 of Atmore, AL passed away on December 16, 2024. She was born on April 8, 1939 in Century, FL to John O’Bannon McCall and Cynthia Myrl Comalander McCall. Annie is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Bobby McCall, Pauline Pickern, Helen Hughes and Gail Smith, and her grandson, Rick Pearson.

Annie is survived by her children, Cheryl (John) Vennell of Marianna, FL, Elaine (Billy) Holk of Bratt, FL, Kenny (Krista) Bryan of Murrayville, GA and Keith Bryan of Gainesville, GA; her brother, John (Maxine) McCall of Bratt, FL; her sisters, Debbie Cribbs of Pensacola, FL and Nancy Sessions of Bratt, FL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Bryan, Pastor John Vennell, and Bro. Trent Hatcher officiating.

A private interment will be held at Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Franklyn Roy ‘Frank’ Drew

1936-2024

You will never recognize the greatness of God until you reach the end of your own greatness.

Franklyn Roy “Frank” Drew, 88, left this earth on December 10, 2024, to spend eternity in his heavenly home. Frank was born September 15, 1936, in Marion, S.C., and lived in numerous places during his service with the United States Air Force, including Scotland, Crete, Turkey, Germany, and the Philippines.

Frank had been a resident of Pensacola since 1972, where he and wife, June, raised their two children. He retired from the Air Force U.S. Security Service in 1976 and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida in 1979. He then worked for the Civil Service as a systems analyst until his retirement in 1996.

Frank was an active member of Pinewoods Church in Cantonment, where he served as an elder. Frank will be remembered for his devotion to both his family and his faith, his willingness to serve, and his big smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Roy Drew and Frances Elizabeth Johnson Drew.
He is survived by his wife, June Drew; daughter, Jackie Kressin (Mark), of Pensacola; and son, Kevin Drew (Heather), of Austin. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Linzi Kressin and Drew Kressin (Sydney), of Pensacola, Ava Drew of New York City, and Logan Drew of Austin, as well as great grandchildren, Rooney Kressin and Elton Kressin. Frank’s sisters, Janice Derrick and Linda Heins (Richard), also survive him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Pinewoods Presbyterian Church with Pastors Joel Trick and John Findlay officiating. Interment will be on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Barrancas National Cemetery. The procession will roll at 9:45 a.m. from Olive Baptist Church Warrington Campas.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 20224 at the church.
