This afternoon’s planned 12:10 p.m. early release for Northview High School students has been delayed until 12:50 p.m. due to weather.

This afternoon’s planned noon release at Tate High School has been delayed until 12:25.

West Florida High’s early release time has been moved from 11:55 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.

Santa To Visit Century Library This Afternoon

Santa Claus will make a special stop by the Century Branch Library this afternoon.

Children are invited to join Santa and his helpers as they celebrate Christmas with a story, crafts, lots of fun and a chance for children to meet with Santa.

Molino Christmas Parade This Morning

December 15, 2012

The 10th annual Molino Christmas Parade will be held this morning.

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at the west end of Crabtree Church Road and will end at the Molino Ballpark where Santa will be waiting to visit with all the good little boys and girls.

Entry fees are $25 for vehicles, $15 for motorcycles, tractors and golf carts; and $10 for horses. No 4-wheelers or go-carts are allowed. Register today; entrants need to be in line at the parade start by 10 a.m.

All proceeds will go directly toward helping needy children in the Molino community during the Christmas season. Donations such as toys and non-perishable food items can be dropped off at Fran’s Diner in advance of the parade.

Tonight: Chiefs State Championship Celebration

December 15, 2012

The Northview Chiefs are planning a state championship ceremony for Saturday night.

The public is invited to attend the event in the school gym beginning about 5:30  p.m. Interested fans are invited to tour the school to see posters and signs displayed in the hallways and cafeteria — the band will escort fans through the hallways.

Certificates of appreciation will be presented about 5:45 p.m., and the state champion Chiefs will sign t-shirts beginning about 6 p.m. There will be some t-shirts for sale. Due to time restrictions, fans are asked to just have the official t-shirt signed and not slow down the line with photos.

At 7 p.m. the State 1A championship game will be shown, compliments of Bright House Sports Network. Thegame film should conclude about 9 p.m.

Bleacher seating will be available. Those that wish to bring a lawn chair to watch the game from floor should bring a beach towel or mat to go under the chair  to prevent damage to the gym floor.

Christmas Variety Show This Evening At Northview High

A Christmas Variety Show will be presented this evening in the Northview High School’s theater.

The show will feature the majorettes, dance team, color guard, band, guitar ensemble and theater comedy group. The show begins at 5 p.m. Admission is a donation of $4 in advance or $5 at the door. Proceeds are being used to pay for the band, dance team and color guard’s trip to the state championship football game last Friday night.

(Note that the start time has been moved earlier to 5 p.m. to allow those interested to attend an All-Star football game at Pace at 7 p.m. More..)
