The Northview Chiefs beat Freeport in a district game 12-1 at home in Bratt Friday night. The Chiefs (5-0, 2-0) were up 5-0 before rallying for seven in the fourth. The Chiefs will host the Atmore Blue Devils on Monday.

The Tate Aggies are on the road for four weekend games in Panama City. In the first game Friday night, the Lady Aggies beat Chiles 3-2. In their second game, ending just before midnight, the Lady Aggies beat Mortimer Jorday 4-1.

Tate’s Sawyer Smith Gets Offer From Mississippi State

Mississippi State has made an offer to Tate High School quarterback Sawyer Smith, the Tate Quarterback Club announced Friday. He also as an offer from Southern Mississippi. Penn State and BYI have also expressed interest in Smith.

Tate 2, West Florida 1 (9 innings)
The Tate Aggies beat the West Florida Jaguars 2-1 in nine-innings. It was the first varsity win for Tate pitcher Michael Sherrill. Tate’s junior varsity and freshmen teams also beat West Florida Thursday. The Aggies (2-) will play junior varsity and varsity Friday at 4:00 and 6:30.

Washington 11, Northview 1 (JV)
Northview defeated Washington High School 4-1 in Pensacola Thursday night., while the NHS JV lost to Washington 11-1. Northview will host Freeport in a district game at 7:00 Friday, following a JV matchup at 4:30.

Tori Perkins pitched a no-hitter and struck out 11on the road as the Tate Lady Aggies beat Pace 7-1. The Lady Aggies remain undefeated at 8-0. Rachel Wright hit a homer for Tate, Sam Burks had a couple of doubles, Tori Perkins hit a double and Casey McCrakin was 2-4.
West Florida 11, Washington 1
The West Florida Lady Jaguars defeated Washington Thursday night 11-1. Farrah Nichols pitched four for the Jaguars, striking out six while allowing three hits. Kristen Gunter was 3-4 for West Florida, while Emily Loring at 2-4.

Northview JV Beats Baker; Baker Tops NHS Varsity

The Northview Lady Chiefs split games with the Baker Gators Tuesday in Bratt.
The NHS junior varsity defeated Baker 8-4, while the Baker varsity downed the Lady Chiefs 3-1 in eight innings.
Northview will host Freeport Friday. The junior varsity begins at 4:00, followed by the varsity at 6:00.

Perfect Season: Pine Forest Lady Eagles Win 6A State Championship

The Pine Forest Lady Eagles finished a perfect season Saturday with the state 6A state championship. The Lady Eagles defeated the Barron Collier Cougars at the Lakeland Center, 46-28. Pine Forest ended the season undefeated at 29-0.
The Eagles took a commanding 13-2 lead by the end of first quarter, and they were up 25-11 by the half. Ty’Quandria Purifoy had a game-high 17 points for the Lady Eagles and had four assists. Britney Snowden led the Lady Eagles with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Jymetrea Jones contributed six, Tylan Carfter added four, while Laneisha Jeans and Kimberly Payne had two each for Pine Forest.

The Northview Chiefs beat Baker Friday night in Bratt 3-2 in a district game. The varsity Chiefs will host Rocky Bayou at 5:00 Monday.
In junior varsity action, Northview beat the Baker Gators 9-0.

Tate Shuts Out West Florida (With Gallery)

The Tate Lady Aggies shut out the West Florida Jaguars Friday night 4-0.
Tate senior Tori Perkins struck out 14, recorded no walks and allowed only one hit. For the Lady Jags, Farrah Nicholas pitched seven, allowing four runs and striking out nine. For the Lady Aggies, Casey McCrakin went 2-4, with two doubles and two runs; Perkins was 1-4 with a run and an RBI.
The Lady Aggies will host Navarre on Tuesday. JV play begins at 4:30 followed the varsity at 6:30. West Florida will be at Washington on Thursday.

Lady Chiefs Split Games With Chipley (With Gallery)

The Northview Lady Chiefs lost to Chipley 4-1 Friday night at home in Bratt. Senior pitcher Mallory Ryan struck out 12 and allowed only two walks for the Lady Chiefs.
In junior varsity action, the JV Lady Chiefs beat Chipley 9-3.
Next week, the Lady Chiefs will be at home Monday night Washington, home Tuesday night against Baker and home Friday night against Baker. Junior varsity games begin at 4:00 with varsity games following at 6:00 each evening.

The East beat the West in both boys and girls all-star soccer Thursday night at Brosnaham Park..
In girls’ action, the East topped the West 6-4, and the East Boys beat the West 6-1. Teams were made up of the best high school senior players from the West — Escambia County, and the East — Santa Rosa and Okaloosa County.

Northview Chiefs Fall In Regional Semifinals
February 18, 2015
The Northview High School basketball team’s dreams of a championship trophy came to an end Tuesday night, just three games shy of a 1A state title.
On the road in Quincy, the Northview Chiefs lost to West Gadsden 74-44 in the regional semifinals. West Gadsden will advance to the regional finals against Chipley; the Chipley Tigers defeated Franklin County of Eastpoint 85-46 Tuesday.
