First Team Offense - P – Evan Legassey 6-3 190 Sr.
Second Team Offense – UT – Jake Henry 5-11 180 Sr.
Honorable Mention - DB – Patrick Palmer 5-11 175 So.
Northview Dance Team Honored, Coach Stepping Down
January 20, 2017
Member of the Northview High School Dance Team were honored Thursday as the team said goodbye to a longtime coach. Heather Leonard, who founded the team in 2011, announced that after six seasons she is stepping down as team coach. Leonard will continue to offer private dance lessons in Byrneville and coach a private competition team.
The Northview Dance Team has been a fixture at fall football games and other school events since its inception.

Northview’s Ward, Robinson Named To All-State Teams
January 19, 2017
Northview High School’s Luke Ward and Neikel Robinson were selected to the 2016 AP Class 1A All-State Teams.
Ward, a senior, was selected as a 1st-team Utility player after throwing for 1,121 yards, rushing for 1,117 yards and accounting for 27 total touchdowns.
Robinson, a junior, was selected as a 2nd-team WR after having 48 catches for 818 yards and 6 TD.

Jay’s Herring Signs With Mississippi Gulf Coast College

Ten NHS Weightlifters Advance To Girls’ Regionals

Ten members of the Northview High School Girls Weightlifting team recently advanced to today’s regional meet…the largest number of Lady Chiefs headed to weightlifting regional in recent memory. Those qualifying fo regional competition include:

Jay Lady Royals Advance To Regional Weight Meet

Five members of the Jay High School ladies weightlifting team competed last week in Baker and advanced to regionals at Choctaw High School on Wednesday. Molino Ballpark Spring Registration Now Underway

Spring registration is underway at the Molino Ballpark.
Registration will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. each Saturday through January 28. The registration fee is $65 for t-ball for ages 4-6, baseball for ages 7-15 an softball for ages 7-16. Signup early by January 14 for an additional $5 off.
Tate Wrestling Team Wins Holiday Invitational Tournament

The Tate High School wrestling team won the recent Tate High Invitational Tournament.

Tate Grad Long Named To FCS All-American Team
December 26, 2016
Tate High School 2013 graduate Lorenzo Long was named third team FCS All-America by the Associated Press. Long currently plays for the Wofford Terriers.
Long, a senior, started all 14 games at fullback. He led the Terrers and the Southern Conference with 1,424 rushing yards, while also leading the league in rushing touchdowns with 18. He ended his career with 3,479 rushing yards to rank fifth in school history and his 43 career rushing touchdowns are third in school history.
Long was named second team All-America by STATS and third team All-America by both the Associated Press and College Sports Madness. He also earned first team All-Southern Conference honors.
Tate Wrestling Wins Gator Duals Invitational Tourney

The Tate High School wrestling team recently went 4-0 to take home first place in the Gator Duals Invitational at Satsuma, AL. Alex Young (pictured bottom left) received the Best Upper Weight Match Award and Jacob Cochran (pictured bottom right) received the Outstanding Wrestler award in the Lightweight Class.
The Aggie wrestling team will host their only home varsity match of the year on December 30. Both events will be held in the Fryman Gymnasium at Tate High School. Wrestling will begin at 10 a.m.
