Northview 15 Central 0
The Northview Lady Chiefs slammed Central 15-0 in Monday softball action.
Shawna Montgomery was 2-2 with 4 RBI’s. Emily Vickery was 2-4 with a couple of RBI’s. Misty Doran was 2-3 with 2 RBI’s; Amber McMillian was 3-4 with 2 RBI’s. Kolbi Cobb was 3-3 with 2 RBI’s.
Northview’s 15 points were split between the third and fourth innings, while Central managed two in the last inning.
Jay 6 West Florida 5
The Lady Royals from Jay beat West Florida 6-5 Monday.
Leading offensive players for the Royals were Olivia Wright with a homerun, two runs and two RBI’s. Tessa Hendricks added two runs.
West Florida was led by Brittany Adkinson with 2 RBI’s, and Gabby Leifur with two RBI’s and a run.

Northview 12 Jay 8
The Northview Lady Chiefs defeated Jay Royals Friday night by the score of 12-8.
Offensive leaders were Candice Greenwell 3-5, Amber McMillan 3-5, Misty Doran 3-5 Shawna Montgomery 2-5, and Emily Vickery 2-4, Winning pitcher was Misty Doran.
Northview plays at Central Monday afternoon and at home against Atmore on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Northview 9 Jay 6 (JV)
The Northview Chiefs JV softball team defeated Jay Friday night by a score of 9-6.
Leading offensive players for Northview were Lauren McCall with a double; Tori Reid with one hit and a run scored; Samantha Johnson with a double and three runs scored; two runs from Taylor Byrd; Ashley Mooney with a hit and a run scored; Shaquanna Jones and Ashton Gibbs with hits.
Shaquanna Jones picked up the victory on the mound pitching five innings, allowing only one hit and striking out four.
Four Northview errors and five walks led to the six runs scored by Jay. The Northview JV softball team is now 2-0.
The Lady Chiefs will be at home on Tuesday against Atmore at 4:00 p.m.
NHS Chiefs Take Eagle Classic With Wins Over Neal, Escambia County, Flomaton

The Northview Chiefs claimed the Eagle Classic Championship over the weekend with strong wins over Flomaton, Escambia County and W.S. Neal. Northview outscored their opponents by a combined 34-8 in claiming the Eagle Classic Championship.
Northview 7 W.S. Neal 5
Northview defeated W. S. Neal 7-5 on Saturday evening to claim the Eagle Classic Championship. Each team entered the championship game 2-0 in the tournament.
Northview 11 Escambia County 1
The Chiefs beat Escambia County High School of Atmore 11-1 on Saturday at W.S. Neal. The Chiefs scored two in the first, six in the third, and three in the fifth.
Leading hitters for the Chiefs were Brad Lowery, who had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBI’s. Austin Reid went 2 for 3, with a double and one RBI. Austin Arrington and Aaron Chancery had one hit each. Dabney Langhorne and Taylor Martin had doubles for Northview. Brandon Sheets had one single and two RBI’s. Josh Scott also singled for Northview.
Heath Burkett picked up the win on the mound. He pitched five innings, giving up one run, on four hits. He walked one batter and struck out six. His record is 1-0 on the season.

Northview beat Flomaton 16-2 in five innings Friday night during the first game of the tournament.

Northview’s varsity baseball team beat Flomaton 16-2 in five innings Friday night at W.S. Neal.
The Chiefs scored one in the first, four in the second, two in the third, and nine in the fifth to pick up the win. Leading hitters for Northview were Austin Reid going 3 for 4, with a triple. Brad Lowery was 3 for 4, including a three-run homer. Aaron Chancery had a double. Dabney Langhorne had a two-run single and Austin Arrington collected a single for the Chiefs.
Brad Lowery pitched four innings, giving up two runs on one hit, striking out 11 batters, and walking four. Austin Arrington pitched the fifth, striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced.
Panhandle All-Star Cheer Team Places First in Orange Beach Nationals

The Panhandle All-Star Cheer Team picked up a first place win in their category Saturday at the Orange Beach Nationals.
The All-Stars, which include girls from across the area, recently placed second in the Saltwater Championship All-Star Level 2 that was held at the Pensacola Civic Center.

Tate Beats Fort Walton 62-58 In Regional Quarterfinals
February 19, 2010

Tate beat the Fort Walton Beach Vikings 62-58 Thursday night for a Region 1-5A quarterfinals win, the first for the Aggies since 2002.
The Aggies (20-8) were down by a point with 13 seconds on the clock when Shermone Jones hit a three-pointer to put Tate up 60-58. Fort Walton missed and fouled, putting Dylan Anderson on the free throw line. Two good shots, and the Aggies had their big win.
At the end of the half, the Aggies were down 26-23. But they can came out shooting in the third quarter, outscoring Fort Walton 21-10 for a 44-36 headed into the fourth.

All-Star Cheerleaders To Compete

The Panhandle All-Star Cheer Team will perform Saturday at the Orange Beach Nationals.
The All-Stars, which include girls from across the area, recently placed second in the Saltwater Championship All-Star Level 2 that was held at the Pensacola Civic Center.
The 22 team members will take part in Saturday afternoon’s competition at the Wharf in Orange Beach.

NHS Softball Opens Season With Wins Over Atmore; Plus Tate, Jay, NHS Scores

Northview 19 Escambia County 4
The Northview Lady Chiefs opened their softball season Tuesday night with a 19-4 win over the Escambia County High School Blue Devils.
Northview had eight hits, while Atmore had three. Amy Clarke was 2-3, Candice Greenwell had a double, and Emily Vickery had a triple for the Chiefs.
While softball season is often associated with spring, NHS Assistant Coach Sammy Day said the game was anything but spring-like, with the temperature at 33 by the end of the game.
Northview 18 Escambia County 1 (JV)
The JV Lady Chiefs opened their season with a strong 18-1 win over Escambia County High School of Atmore.
Key offensive leaders were Ashton Gibbs with two hits, Morgan Payne with a double, Tori Reid with a double, and Taylor Byrd with a triple. Shaquanna Jones pitched a no-hitter for two innings and struck out six Atmore batters. The next game for the JV team is at Jay this Friday.
Jay 9 Pace 8
The Jay Royals opened their season with a 9-8 softball win over Pace in an extra-inning game.
Nine inning pitcher Alicia Ashworth; she drove in the winning run with a two out single for the win. Ashworth allowed eight hits and had six errors during her complete game on the mound.
Amber Steadham was 5-5, with one run and a couple of RBI’s. Olivia Wright has three RBIs and two runs for the Royals.
Niceville 4 Tate 3
Niceville handed Tate a 4-3 loss Tuesday. Shelby Myers had two runs and two RBIs. Heather Schaff was 2-4 with one RBI for the Aggies.
BOYS BASEBALL
Pensacola High 11 Northview 7
Northview opened their season with a loss to Pensacola High on Tuesday, 11-7. The Chiefs opened with one in the first inning, but Pensacola High answered with two runs in the second and eight in the third.
Tate 4 Escambia 0 (JV)
The Tate JV team beat the Escambia Gators 4-0. The Aggies will play Niceville Wednesday night.
