Northview Remains Undefeated With Nine-Inning Win Over Central

It was a battle of the undefeateds Monday in Santa Rosa County, and when the dust cleared after nine innings, the Northview Chiefs added another win to their so-far perfect season. Tate Downs Navarre To Remain Unbeaten; Northview JV Splits Miller Double Header

Tate 3, Navarre 0

Trace Penton pitched a one hit complete game shutout Saturday as the Tate Aggies beat Navarre 3-0.  With the win, the Aggies are now 7-0, 3-0 in the district. . Sawyer Smith  was 2-3, 2B, HR, 2 RBI. Branden Fryman was 2-3. The Aggies next
travel to Fort Walton Beach on Tuesday. The junior varsity will play at 4:30, and the varsity will play at 7:00.

Northview 4, T.R. Miller 2 (JV)
T.R. Miller 3, Northview 2 (JV)

The junior varsity Northview Chiefs split a double header with T.R. Miller Saturday in Brewton. Northview’s JV beat Miller 4-2, and Miller got past Northview 3-2. Northview’s JV next travels to West Florida High on March 12 for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch.

Tate, Northview Baseball Both Remain Undefeated

The Northview Chiefs added another one to the win column Friday night with a 7-2 win over Holmes County in a district game. The undefeated Northview Chiefs (8-0) travel to undefeated Central (3-0) on Monday. The JV Chiefs beat Holmes County 7-6. Northview’s JV will play at 11 a.m. double header on Saturday at T.R. Miller.

Northview High Opens New Weight Training Facility

March 6, 2015

Work is complete on a new weight training facility at Northview High School.

The new 3,500 square foot building includes a weight room, locker room, coaches’ offices, storage and accompanying restrooms. The $625,000 construction budget was funded with local option sales tax monies.

The facility will be used for males, while the old girls and boys weight rooms inside the school gym will be combined and remodeled for female use.

Seven Tate Wrestling Team Members Advance To Regionals

Several members of the Tate High School wrestling team came up winners at the recent district tournament. Seven of them advanced to the regional tournament today at Chiles High School.

Aggie Classic Underway This Week

The 22nd annual Aggie Classic gets underway today and continues through Thursday at five locations throughout the Pensacola area with 20 teams and 40 games. Games will be played at ate High, West Florida High, Escambia, Gulf Breeze and Washington. The teams from those school will also be participating, along with one other local team, Milton.

Ernest Ward’s One Person Dive Team Takes Second At County

The Ernest Ward Middle School Dive Team received second place during the 2015 Escambia County Diving Championship at Washington High School. There were 24 divers — 11 female and 13 male — participating in the meet. The Ernest Ward Dive Team consisted of just one diver — Jayda Crabtree. She placed second in the girls division. The Tate Aggies beat Crestview 9-2 Tuesday night. Jesse Gunter took the win for the Aggies going four innings while allowing two hits, two runs, one error and two strikeouts. Brandon Fryman was 2-4 with a triple and two runs; Cole Halfacre was 2-+4 with a double and three RBI’s. Sawyer Smith was 2-3 with a double, one RBI and three stolen bases; Mark Miller was 2-4 with a double, RBI and a stolen base for the undefeated Aggies.

Northview 11, Jay 1 (JV)

In a district game, the Northview Chiefs beat the Jay Royals 2-0 in Jay Tuesday night. The Chiefs (7-0, 3-0) will host Holmes County Friday night at 6:30, following a junior varsity game at 4:00

SOFTBALL

Northview 4, PHS 0

The Northview Lady Chiefs beat Pensacola High School 4-0 Tuesday night in Pensacola. Mallory Ryan pitched a no hitter with 16 strikeouts and  just two walks. At the plate, Kyndall Hall went 3-3. Northview softball will be on the road Thursday with games at Bonifay.

Niceville 5, Tate 4

The Tate Lady Aggies fell short 5-4 to the Niceville Eagles Tuesday night for their first loss of the season. Tori Perkins allowed eight hits, five runs, three errors, walked five and struck out four for the Aggies. Casey McCrackin 2-5, 2B; Hayden Lindsay 1-3, 2B, 2R; Tori Perkins 2-4, RBI, 2B; Rachel Wright 2-2, R, RBI; Izzy Werdann 1-3, 2 RBIs.Tate (12-1,4-1) is on the road at Milton at 7:00 Friday night.
