Seahawks Top Northview 1-0 In 10 Innings

The Northview Chiefs dropped a heartbreaker at home to the South Walton Seahawks 1-0 in 10 innings Monday.
Alyssa Selvy pitched the win for the Seahawks allowing only two hits and two walks while striking out 24 of 36 batters. McKenna Kimball had the game winning hit for South Walton in the top of the 10th inning with a single up the middle that scored a runner from third who reached on a double to start the inning.
Tori Herrington took the loss for the Chiefs allowing six hits and no walks while striking out 12 of 36 batters. Hitting for the Chiefs were Kendall Enfinger: 1-4 and Lydia Smith: 1-4.
Northview will host Siegel, TN, Tuesday night. The junior varsity will play at 4:00 and varsity at 6:00.

Northview Drops Friday Game 7-0 To South Walton
March 26, 2016
The Northview chiefs lost to South Walton 7-0 Friday in Bratt.
South Walton took a 2-0 lead in the second, added a couple in the third and sealed the shutout with three more runs in the seventh.
Quentin Sampson went 2-3 at the plate for Northview.
Northview’s varsity will travel to Pensacola Christian Academy for a 3:45 p.m. game on Tuesday before hosting Hopkinsville, KY, on Thursday.

Tate Aggies Win Ocoee Baseball Invitational
March 25, 2016
The Tate High School Aggies won the 2016 Ocoee Knights Baseball Invitational Thursday as they topped Clearwater 3-1.
Trace Penton pitched the win for the Aggies with four shutout innings.
The game was scoreless until the Aggies went up in the fourth on a run on a groundout by Cole Halfacre. The Aggies scored two more runs in the bottom of the firth, including single from Josh Kea that scored Corey Young.
Branden Fryman was voted the MVP of the Ocoee Knights Baseball Invitational.

Century Native Watson Named USA South Athlete Of Week
March 23, 2016
Huntingdon College’s Zack Watson was named an USA South Athlete of the Week on Monday.
The Century native earned Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors for his performance in Game 1 against No. 14 ranked Piedmont College.
Watson threw a complete-game three-hitter in Friday’s 14-1 win over the Lions. Watson improved to 4-2 on the season with the win and struck out seven, walked four and allowed one run in nine innings. After giving up two singles, two walks and a run in the first inning, Watson held Piedmont hitless in seven of the final eight innings.
A senior at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Watson lettered in baseball for Flomaton High School. He is the son of Billy and Dianne Watson and is majoring biochemistry.

The Tate Aggies beat Ocoee, FL, 1-0 in the second round of the Ocoee Knights Spring Break Invitational. Brandon Fryman had a one-out double and scored the run for Tate in the seventh on an RBI single from Jake Davis
Davis allowed just seven its in just over five innings on the mound. Michael Sherrill rounded out the Aggie pitching, allowing one hit and striking out one.

Monroe (AL) Academy 6, Northview 4
The Northview Chiefs lost 6-4 to Monroe Academy of Monroeville Tuesday in Bratt., 6-4.

Thomas Moore pitched 6.2 striking out seven, and allowing six runs and six hits. Zach Payne tossed three pitches for a strikeout.

The Milton Panthers defeated the Tate Aggies Tuesday 2-0 at Milton
Savannah Ulrich was 1-3 at the plate for the Aggies, while Hannah Brown took the loos on the mound for the Aggies with four strikeouts .
Strike Out Cancer Game Earns $12K; Wins For Tate; Loss For Northview

Monday night’s Strike Out Cancer game raised an estimated $12,000 as the Tate Aggies defeated West Florida 7-1.

The Tate Aggies won their own Aggie Classic Thursday night with a 5-0 shutout of Milton.
The Aggies jumped out to a 3-0 lead with a three-run homer over the right-field wall from Cole Halfacre.

Northview Splits Softball Double Header At Chipley

The Northview Chiefs went 1-1 away at Chipley in a double header Wednesday.
In the first game, the visiting Chiefs lost to the Fighting Tigers 2-0 on 3 defensive errors. Neither team recorded a hit in the game. Tori Herrington pitched 7 innings striking out 8, allowing no hits, 1 walk, 2 runs and 0 earned runs.
The Chiefs won the second contest 4-3 over the Fighting Tigers. Tori Herrington pitched 7 innings striking out 7, allowing 7 hits, 0 walks, 3 runs and 2 earned runs.
