Lady Chiefs Remain Undefeated; Baseball: Tate Beats Crestview, Jay Over NHS

The undefeated Northview Lady Chiefs beat Catholic High School on Monday and J.U. Blacksher Tuesday night.

Northview 10, Catholic 0 (6 innings)

Tori Herrington pitched a shutout Monday evening at Northview as the Lady Chiefs beat the Catholic Crusaders 10-0 in six innings. She faced 22 batters, striking out 14.  Herrington went 3-4 with 3 RBi’s at the plate. Also for Northview: Ashley Ragsdale 1-4, RBI,; Aubree Love 3-4, 2 RBI;  Valen Shelley 3-4, 2 RBI.

Northview 9, J.U. Blacksher 1

The Northview Lady Chiefs beat J.U. Blacksher in Uriah, AL, Tuesday, 9-1.

Tori Herrington had nine strikeouts and was 3-5 with 2 RBI. For Northview: Ashley Ragsdale 2-3; Kendall Enfinger 2-5, RBI; Aubree Love 2-5, 2 RBI; Valen Shelley 2-4, 2 RBI; Heather Knowles 1-4, 2 RBI; Anna Sullivan 1-4; Rylee Huskey 1-4.

Up next, the Lady Chiefs will travel to Jay on Thursday.

The Tate Aggies shutout Crestview Tuesday night, 7-0

Jace Dunsford allowed two hits and zero runs over four and a third innings, striking out six.

The Jay Royals defeated the Northview Chiefs Tuesday night 4-2 in Jay.

Tate Shuts Out Coral Park In Sarasota Classic

The Tate Aggies beat Coral Park 9-0 Thursday in the Sarasota Classic to go 2-2 during the week’s tournament play.

The Aggies score one in the first before coming alive in the third with eight runs on their way to an error-free game.

Trey Lafleur threw a complete game with one hit, no runs, two walks and 13 strikeouts.

Ryan Greene, Reid Halfacre, Raymond Lafleur, Mason Land and  Jesse Sherrill had RBI’s for Tate.

Tate Falls To Sarasota

The Tate Aggies lost to Sarasota 7-2 in a battle of the historic champions in the Sarasota Classic.

Tate took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the third, but Sarasota answered with four in the bottom of the third and three in the bottom of the fourth.

Sarasota and Tate have won a combined 15 state championships and are third and fourth among public schools with the most championships in state history.

Darrien Mcdowell took the loss for Tate Aggies Varsity 2018 . He surrendered five runs on five hits over three innings, striking out one.

Pine Forest Shuts Out Northview; Tate Beats Miami Beach

The Tate Aggies beat Miami Beach High School 2-1 Tuesday.

Cole Fryman earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for the Aggies. He allowed just one run on four hits, walking one and striking out one.

Pine Forest 11, Northview 0

The Pine Forest Eagles defeated the Northview Chiefs Tuesday afternoon at Pine Forest.

After a scoreless first inning, the 6A Eagles exploded with nine runs and sealed the win in just three innings with two runs in the bottom of the third to invoke the 10-run rule.

Singleton took the loss for the 1A Chiefs surrendering 11 runs on 12 hits while striking out two.  Nolan Rigby earned the win for Pine Forest with no run, three hits and striking out two.

For Northview: Seth Killam 1-3; Trevor Singleton 1-3; John Chivington 1-3; Jason Fischer 1-2.

Pine Forest Tops Northview; Lakewood Gets Late Win Over Tate

The Pine Forest Eagles took advantage of a sixth inning error to take the lead on the way to defeating the Northview Chiefs 6-4 Monday in Bratt.

Seth Killam took the loss for the Chiefs took the loss for the Northview Chiefs. He allowed four runs on three hits over three innings, walking one and striking out three.  Jackson Moore started the game for the Chiefs, giving up four runs in four innings and striking out four.

Northview’s Kite Wins Regional Weightlifting Championship; Bryan, Bush, Helton Place

Trent Kite claimed the 2018 FHSAA Region 1 Championship on Saturday in the 129-pound weight class at Baker High School.
Kite, a sophomore, claimed an automatic bid to the 2018 FHSAA State Meet with a total of 410 pounds, easily claiming the victory over 2nd place by 15 pounds.
Also placing at the Regional Meet for the Chiefs were:
Logan Bryan – 119-lb. weight class – 4th
Justin Helton – UNL weight class – t5th
Ray’von Bush – 183-lb. weight class – 6th
All three lifters will be placed in a pool in their respective weight class for an opportunity to be selected with an at-large big to the state meet. In order to qualify, they must place top 12 of all non-region champions in their weight class in Regions 2-8.
The 2018 FHSAA 1A State Weightlifting Meet will be held at Arnold High School in Panama City on April 6.

Tate Tops West Florida In Annual Strike Out Cancer Game

The Tate Lady Aggies defeated the West Florida Jaguars Friday night. But cancer research was the big winner as the annual Strike Out Cancer game raised $22,000 and counting.

Tate Aggies pitcher Hannag Brown had six strike outs on the way to the shutout while allowing one hit and committing no errors.
