John J. Lambeth

Mr. John J. Lambeth, age 82, of Flomaton, AL, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at his home.

Mr. Lambeth was born in Escambia County, AL, and had been a life-long member of the Flomaton community. He was Flomaton’s Fire Chief from 1961 to 1965 and served with Flomaton’s Police Department for many years as well. He was the driving force in establishing Flomaton’s Rescue Squad and he loved his coffee. Mr. Lambeth was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Pleasant Home Holiness Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Rosa Mae Knowles Lambeth; brother, Gene Lambeth; and his wife of 62 years, Carolyn McCall Lambeth.

He is survived by his son, Johnny (Talina) Lambeth of Flomaton, AL; grandchildren, Jessica (Richard) Meacham of Lillian, AL and Jeffrey (Erin) Lambeth of Flomaton, AL; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Finley, Madeline; nephew, Jason Lambeth of Brewton, AL; numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 2 p.m. with Bro Glenn Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in Flomaton Cemetery, Flomaton, AL.

Ella Louise McDaniel

June 9, 2020

Ella Louise McDaniel, age 61, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020, after an extended battle with cancer. She was born November 13, 1958, in Sioux City, Iowa to Wayne Cearing and Helen (Maciejack) Cearing.

Ella grew up in Franklin, Indiana and was known to family and friends as Lou. She served in the United States Navy which brought her to Pensacola, Florida where she met her husband David McDaniel, Sr. Ella and David were married April 2, 1987 and resided in Pensacola. They raised two daughters and were blessed with many grandchildren. She was a realtor, past president of the Pensacola Association of Realtors, and an avid supporter of the Tate High School marching band. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling around the country in their RV.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, Wayne and Helen Cearing; and her granddaughter, Scarlett Powell.

She is survived by, her husband, David McDaniel, Sr.; by her daughters, Jennifer Powell (Cody), Jessica McDaniel; grandchildren, Brayden, Kalub, Taylor, Aidan, Logan, Liam, and Lily; and her brothers, Richard Cearing and Steve Cearing.

Memorial services were held at Heritage Baptist Church in Cantonment on Friday, May 29, 2020.

Doris Beatrice Logue Long

Mrs. Doris Beatrice Logue Long, age 82 of Flomaton, AL, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at The Terrace at Ivory Acres in Jay, FL.

Mrs. Long was born in Savannah, GA, and had resided in Flomaton since 1987 coming from Ft. Walton Beach, FL. She was a homemaker that loved to sew, quilt, being outside and gardening. Mrs. Long was a member of Flomaton First Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel H. Long; daughter, Laura Francis Long, and grandson, Keaton Christopher Padgett.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Traci) Long of Dothan, AL and Gary D. Long of Flomaton, AL; daughter, Susan (Ricky) McDaniel of Flomaton, AL; grandchildren, Anthony Ryan Long, Cory Allen Long, Austin Samuel McDaniel, Richard ‘Jamie’ McDaniel; and great-grandchild, Astrid Long.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 29, 2020, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Russell Fountain and Rev. Bill Pritchett officiating.

Pallbearers were Daniel Moore, Darryl Moore, Joffrey Tullis, Anthony Long, Cory Long, and Richard Joyner.

Interment will be in Flomaton Cemetery.

John Clark Perkins

Mr. John Clark Perkins, age 85, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020, at his home in Atmore, Alabama.

Mr. Perkins was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore, Alabama. He retired from Monsanto, was a used car dealer, owned B&J Bait Shop, very loving and giving to his family and under privileged in our area. He never met a stranger, enjoyed singing, and was a jokester and a member of the Canoe (Methodist) Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Velma Marie Perkins; parents, John and Rosie Perkins; grandson, Thomas Guy Byrne IV; step-father, Shirley Hammac and son-in-law, Thomas Guy Byrne, III.

He is survived by one son, John Terrell (Melba Jean) Perkins of Northport, AL; two daughters, Joanne Perkins (Larry M.) Bonds of Atmore, AL and Janice Perkins Byrne of Stockton, AL; two step-sons, Lane (Vernie) Mosley of Henderson, TN and Brady Mosley of Century, FL; four step-daughters, Rose Anna (Ray) Smith of Camden, SC, Enola (Dan) Godwin of Byrneville, FL, Amy (Lanell) Welch of Flomaton, AL and Myra (Joe) Reid of Byrneville, FL; 10 grandchildren, Tina (Wes) Walby, Tiffany (Steven) Cierocke, Tierney (Jason) Broadwater, Christopher (Mary) Byrne, Nikki (Terry) Lile, Katherine Byrne, Lori (Wesley) Rider, Larry W. (Sherri) Bonds, Stevie (Dixie) Bonds and Josh Bonds; 26 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 8, 2020, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Armstrong and Rev. Larry Renfroe officiating.

Burial was at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gage Mueller, Myrrick Walby, Chris Byrne, Nikki Lile, Tiffany Cierocke, Wesley Rider, Larry Wayne Bonds, B.J. Reid and Randal Bonds.

Harold Philip Wilson

Harold Philip “Phil” Wilson, 67, of Atmore, AL, passed away June 1, 2020, in Atmore. He was born in Tuscaloosa, AL on July 3, 1952. He was a graduate of Auburn University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in forestry. He was retired from the Alabama Forestry Commission where he worked as a forester for over 25 years. He then worked for the Mississippi Forestry Commission before he retired and over his career, he planted over one billion seedlings in the State of Alabama.

He was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Harold Q. Wilson and his mother, Shirley Jean Wheat Wilson.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ziglar Wilson of Atmore, AL; two daughters, Aime Elizabeth Wilson and Kelsey Alyse Wilson of Semmes, AL.; two step-children, Chad (Chandra) McMurphy of Atmore, AL and Sandi McMurphy (Shayne) Dickman of Bay Minette, AL; three brothers, Greg Wilson of Bratt, FL; Jon Wilson of Lillian, AL and Patrick Wilson of Silver Hill, AL; one sister, Lori Monroe of Silver Hill, AL; and his grandchildren, Aidan Philip Wilson, Avery Quinn Wilson, Caspian Jasper Wilson, Ava Wilson and Collyns Wilson.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 6, 2020, at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Guy Heath officiating.

Burial was in Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dena Marie Smith

June 9, 2020

Dena was born in Ft. Pierce, FL in 1959. She spent all of her childhood in Ft. Pierce and graduated from Ft. Pierce High School before attending the local junior college. Dena met Roger in the fall of 1977 and they quickly fell in love. After a short time, they moved to Tallahassee where Dena finished out her schooling at Florida State University. Dena and Roger were married September 6, 1980. After graduating college, Dena became an early childhood educator until she and Roger had their first child, Elisa, in the spring of 1987 in Columbus, GA, and their second child, Emily, in Titusville, FL in the fall of 1991. After Emily began kindergarten, Dena returned to early childhood education where she dedicated her life loving, caring for, and praying for each one of her students.

Dena’s desire was for each one of the children she encountered to meet, know, and love Jesus. She invested in the lives of countless children whether or not they were in her class. She always welcomed others into her home with open arms, and not a single person left her home without feeling cared for and loved as part of the family. She always loved to help Roger with his work and minister to his employees. She loved the outdoors, always wanted to be hiking or biking, loved walks on the beach, and loved any other time she could share and teach others about the Lord’s creation. Dena always wanted her life to be defined by her love of Christ and always looked to serve others over adulation for her personal accomplishments.

She is preceded in death by her father, James B. Edenfield, Sr.; mother, Annie R. Edenfield; and sister, Margaret Hunt.

Dena is survived by her loving husband, Roger W. Smith; daughters, Elisa M. (Joshua) Kennedy and Emily L. Smith; and brother, James B. (Lynette) Edenfield, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 31, 2020, at Olive Baptist Church with Pastor Traylor officiating.

Pallbearers were Jack Jarman, Arthur O’Mary, James Robbins, Ken Griffin, and Jed Miller.

Mr. James Earl Moye, age 67, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020, in Bluffsprings, Florida.

Mr. Moye was born in Century, FL and lived in Flomaton, AL for most of his life. He was a member of Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle in Molino, FL for 43 years, former Youth Leader, and member of the Lambeth VFD. He was employed with Escambia (AL) Road Department, former employee of USA Concrete, Lanier Sand & Gravel and Roy Parker & Sons Gravel Company. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Devere Moye.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joan Darlene Moye of Flomaton, AL; son, Nicholas James Moye of Flomaton, AL; brothers, Curtis Moye of Flomaton, AL and Robert (Anita) Moye of Flomaton, AL; sisters, Sue (David) Raines of Flomaton, AL and Glenda Moye of Flomaton, AL; grandchildren, Anderson James Moye of Flomaton, AL and Darcey Katherine Moye of Flomaton, AL; mother of his grandchildren, Megan Knowles Moye of Flomaton, AL; special aunt, Clara Stokes of Flomaton, AL and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 29, 2020, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Mill and Pastor Rusty Knowles officiating.

Burial was at Traveler’s Rest Cemetery.

John William Spence

Mr. John William Spence, age 82, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020 in Stockton, Alabama.

Mr. Spence was a native of Nokomis, FL and had resided in Walnut Hill, Florida for most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. Mr. Spence also known as PopPop was an avid outdoorsman, partner in the Spence Logging Company, retired supervisor from Gulf Power with 20 years of service and a member of the Bratt First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Rebecca Spence; brother, Alton Spence and three sisters, Annie Mae Cook, Doris Payne and Marie Locke.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Spence of Walnut Hill, FL; two sons, Scott (Sandra) Spence of Walnut Hill, FL and Kenneth “DJ” (Dianna) Spence of Molino, FL; four daughters, Robin (Joey) McCall of Walnut Hill, FL, Shannon (Chris) Kinley of Century, FL, Kathryn (Barry) Sumrall of Atmore, AL and Regina (Brian) Simpson of Pensacola, FL; one brother, J.D. “Dink” (Jean) Spence of Pineville, FL; thirteen grandchildren and one on the way; eighteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sis. Helen Stewart and Bro. John C. Spence officiating.

Sabrina White Godwin

Mrs. Sabrina White Godwin, age 50, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, in Pensacola, Florida.

Mrs. Godwin a native and lifelong resident of Atmore, Alabama. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She is preceded in death by her father, Billy White; daughter, Kayla Godwin and sister, Traci White.

She is survived by her mother, Louise White of Atmore, AL; one son, Justin Daniel White of Atmore, AL; one brother, Bill White of Atmore, AL; one sister, Melissa (Steven) Carpenter of Atmore, AL; two nieces, Shyla O’Barr of Perdido, AL and Camryn O’Barr of Perdido, AL; one great niece, Elliana Allen of Perdido, AL; and special aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 23, 2020, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ronald Hall officiating.

Carolyn Yvonne McCall Lambeth

Mrs. Carolyn Yvonne McCall Lambeth, age 81 of Flomaton, AL, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at her home.

Mrs. Lambeth was born in Century, FL, and had been a life-time member of the Flomaton community. During her working years, she worked at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital as a LPN. She enjoyed being a nurse, and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Hoarce McCall and was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her husband, John J. Lambeth of Flomaton, AL; son, Johnny (Telina) Lambeth of Flomaton, AL; brother, Freddie W. (Margie) McCall of Century, FL; sister, Marilyn (Cecil) Nelson of Byrneville, FL; grandchildren, Jessica (Richard) Meacham of Lillian, AL and Jeffrey (Erin) Lambeth of Flomaton, AL; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Finley and Madeline; numerous other family members and friends.
