Joseph Randolph (Randy) Hornsby

November 19, 2020

Joseph Randolph (Randy) Hornsby. Randy was born and raised in Pensacola, FL. He passed peacefully hanging his wings on November 18, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was a ladies man, avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors and hanging out at the river. The women in his life were numerous. One of his favorites was his mom and he was a “Mama’s Boy” – he would grin from ear to ear when he was reminded of this by other.

He married his main squeeze (love of his life), Susan Hornsby late in life, but they shared a lifetime of experiences in their short time together. They had a love for one another that was so pure and sweet. He taught his son how to hunt, love nature and to just be thankful. His brothers and sisters could sit and tell stories of all his shenanigans they were apart of or laughed about afterwards as they heard him tell them. He loved to travel with his oldest bonus daughter. They had many trips planned that will be completed with him in her heart. Randy has many lifelong friends to many to name. He enjoyed hunting, fishing or just sitting around a fire sharing jokes, stories and lots of laughter.

Randy was a Shriner, Free Mason and maintenance roofer. Randy always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. There was nothing Randy liked better than an interesting conversation with a good old or new friend. He could have a conversation with anyone. He was a strong, proud and good man. He is loved by many and will be missed but never forgotten. We would like to say a big “thank you” to Covenant Care for taking care of Randy and family to help make his journey home peaceful for all. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hornsby; Bonus father, Hugh Cleveland and his brother, Larry Hornsby.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Cleveland Hornsby; wife, Susan Hornsby; son, Joshua (Taylor) Hornsby; bonus daughters, Tonya Scheibel and Felecia (Tony) Dykes; bonus son, Duane (Heather) Dykes; grandchildren, James Hornsby, Lander and Hannah Dykes, and Ashlyn and Mason Murphy; brother Mickey (Beverly) Hornsby; sister, Cindy (Paul) Cascone; three nieces and three nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

The family suggest donation be made to the local Shriner’s Club.

Visitation will be at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, Saturday, November 21, 2020 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Reverend Gene Hudson will be officiating.
