Vera Theresa Barlow

On December 29, 1955, Vera Theresa Barlow was born to Walter and Bessie Barlow. She was the youngest of her brothers and sisters. She was an amazingly kind and selfless woman who loved everyone in her life and would gladly give anyone anything they needed if she could. On December 22, 2021, she joined her Heavenly Father and will always be remembered and loved. She is preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings.
She is survived by son, John (Crystal) Oakes of Knoxville, TN and daughter Michelle (Travis) Flowers of Uriah, AL. Grandchildren: Theresa (Labon) Turk of Uriah, AL; Amber (Logan) Boatwright of Atmore, AL; Austin Flowers of Uriah, AL; and Mason Flowers of Uriah, AL. Great-grandchildren: Castiel and Rowan Turk of Urah, AL and Kennedy and Rhett Turk of Atmore, AL. She is survived by six siblings: Walter “Tobe” (Bobbie) Barlow Jr of Shepherd, TX; Margaret Ann (Larson) Bryars of Perdido, AL; Judy Rathsack of Atmore, AL; Donald Barlow of Nokomis, FL; Frank “Dunky” (Shirley) Barlow of Nokomis, AL; and Debbie Barlow of Nokomis, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held for her at Johnson Quimby Funeral Home at 4pm on January 17, 2022.

Donald Wayne Maxwell

Donald Wayne Maxwell, 82, of Cantonment, Florida, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 after a brief illness. Don was born on April 20, 1939 to Clyde and Letha Maxwell in Bristow, Oklahoma. After graduating from Pearsall High School, he went on to receive a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physics from the University of West Florida. Over his lifetime, he enjoyed working at several occupations. He served in the United States Air Force and was deployed to Okinawa, Japan. He also worked as a contractor for NASA on the Saturn V rockets at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama. Don completed his career by retiring as a civil servant from the Naval Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory (NAMRL) aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola.
Don enjoyed helping others. He was known for his ingenuity and being an extraordinary handyman. He volunteered at the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store and was a 17 gallon donor at the OneBlood donation center. He was a loving dad and grandpa and lit up when he was with his grandchildren. We, his family, were blessed to have him as our rock and protector and will forever feel the loss.
Don was predeceased by his parents Clyde and Letha Maxwell, and his siblings Carl Maxwell, Doris Barnes, and Judy Baker. He is survived by wife Florence, children Donna (Mike) Moon, Gina (Tim) Shoffner, Connie (Richard) Clark, Tony (Ann) Thompson, Dianne (Jay) Watts, and brothers Darrell Maxwell and Jimmy Maxwell. He is also survived by grandchildren Danielle Perry, Evan Shoffner, Logan Shoffner, Mary Prescott, Joey Clark, Ryan Williams, Rachel Williams, Jessica Thompson, Jacob Watts, Jason Watts, and great-grandchildren Madeline Prescott and Charlie Prescott.
Funeral Mass will be held at 12Noon on Monday, December 27, 2021 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church with Father George Thekku officiating. Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 11am prior to services.
Pallbearers will be Tim Shoffner, Evan Shoffner, Mike Moon, Joey Clark, Jacob Watts, and Jason Watts.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that contributions may be donated to the St. Jude Thaddeus church building fund in Don’s name.
Charles Nathaniel Broadhead

Charles Nathaniel Broadhead, 70, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. He was born on January 20, 1951 in Needham, AL to the late Nathaniel Broadhead and Willie Ivy Broadhead.
Charles retired from Webb Electric Inc. where he worked as an Electrical Superintendent Project Manager.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Charles is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judith “Judy” Graves Broadhead; three children, Wendi Broadhead Bradshaw (Emily), Lowell Rowland (Garilynn) and Keela (John) Murdy; seven grandchildren, Dylan Bradshaw, Dalton Bradshaw, Kaylyn Bradshaw, Christopher Rowland (Hannah), Ashlyn Murdy, Charlyn McLane (Dylan) and Bailyn Murdy; and one great grandchild, Ryatt Rowland.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Burial will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Bobbie Kimberly Bonner McCurdy, age 69, of Hattiesburg, MS went home to be with her heavenly father on December 10, 2021. She was born on September 19, 1952 in Natchez, MS to Raymond and Lois Bonner. She was preceded in death by her parents. She was a homemaker, loved to spend time with family and camping.
She is survived by her three children, James (Susan) McCurdy of Century, FL; Muranda (Federic) Moore of Flomaton, AL and Aletha Mattison of Purvis, MS; three brothers, Raymond (JoAnn) Bonner of Elberta, AL, Michael (Lou) Bonner of Hattiesburg, MS and Joseph (Debbie) Bonner of Spanish Fort, AL; nine grandchildren, Misty Madewell, Mary Madewell, Blaze Harkness, Kuper (Sammie) Harkness, Chance McCurdy, Cheyanne Garnett, Kaylyn Garnett, Jasmine Mattison, and Lillian (Lily) Mattison and eight great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on January 22, 2022 at Bratt Baptist Church in Bratt, FL at 2:00 p.m. Open to all friends and family.

Mrs. Margaret Evelyn Newton, age 95, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at her Flomaton, AL.
Mrs. Newton was a life-long resident of Flomaton where she served as a substitute teacher for the Flomaton schools. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, fishing, sewing and cooking. She was a member of Little Escambia Baptist Church. Mrs. Newton was preceded in death by her husband, William Estes Newton; and two brothers, Bib Jordan and Nub Jordan.
She is survived by a brother, Jr. Jordan of Flomaton; three sisters, Linda Black of Flomaton, Ann Parrish of Brewton, and Kathleen Whatley of Molino, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Little Escambia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Flomaton Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.

Mrs. Charlotte Giddins, age 71, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 in McDavid, FL. She retired from International Paper Company, with many years of employment. She loved attending baseball games and all the grandchildren sports. She loved going to the “Beach”.
She valued her time she got to spend with her family.. She loved to fish, teaching children at school, and cooking. She loved attending baseball games and all the grandchildren sports. She loved going to the “Beach”.
Mrs. Giddins is preceded in death by her parents, W H Burkett and Ethel (Entrekin) McElvoy, and one brother, Michael Burkett
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Edward Giddins, of Christian Home, one son, Chad Giddins, of Christian Home, one daughter, Carmen (Stephen) Gindl, of Barrineau Park, FL; one brother, Randy (Denice) Burkett, of Christian Home, nine grandchildren, Caleb, Lacie, Adam, Brayden, CJ, Bella, Blaise, Conner, Cameron, one great-grandchild, Jace, many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Bro. Josh Long officiating.
Burial will follow at Christian Home Cemetery.

Helen Juliann Schifko lifelong resident of Cantonment, FL passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the age of 88.
She was born on December 4, 1933 to the late Peter Schifko or Chatherine Hedrich Schifko.

William (Bill) A Terry

William (Bill) A Terry, 73, of Walnut Hill Florida passed away peacefully Sunday, December 12, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. He was born August 13, 1948, in Atmore, Alabama and lived in Molino, Florida most of his life. He graduated from JM Tate High School. Bill worked as a Chemical Operator for Solutia where he retired after many years. Prior to his time at Solutia he and his wife owned/operated Terry’s Farm and Home Center in Molino, Florida.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his family. He loved the outdoors. Bill was an avid gardener and fisherman. He was happiest being with his family, floating down the river catching bream or working in his garden.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Debbie Terry, his daughter Jennifer (Ron) Cook, his son Jason (Gina) Terry, his grandchildren Shelby (Richard) Hardy, Hunter Terry, Dalton (Bri) Ray, great grandson Jackson Ray, his mother-in-law Edna Taylor, his sister Fay (John) Fant; sister-in-law Lurleyne Terry, brother-in-law Bill (Dalia) Taylor, Ronnie (Theresa) Williamson, Jackie (Gene) Milstid, Cindy (Dink) Kennedy, Terry (Pat) Monahan, many special nieces and nephews and his lifelong friend and fishing partner Wallace Arnold.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Robert E and Evelyn Ruth Enfinger Terry, father-in-law W.T. Taylor, mother-in-law Maxine Gillespie, brothers James Terry (Martha) and Donald Terry.
The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice Care and David with Aerocare for their kindness and care during this time.
A celebration of life will be held at the Barrineau Park Community Center on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 3pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Faith Chapel North.
Guinever “Gwin” Burkett Knowles

Mrs. Guinever “Gwin” Burkett Knowles, 82, passed into the arms of Jesus on December 15, 2021. Gwin was born of February 25, 1939 to Pearlie Burkett and married the love of her life, Huey P. Knowles on July 2, 1957.
Gwin was a 1957 graduate of Flomaton High School and was a retired school bus driver. She was “Mama” to most of the students who rode her bus. Her hobbies including gardening, sewing, and crocheting and she enjoyed her many creations with everyone she came into contact with. She loved children and could make an ordinary day feel like an adventure. She knew absolutely nothing about football but enjoyed rooting for the Auburn Tigers with her son-in-law, Wayne. She was a faithful member of Moyeville Baptist Church and was happiest around the children of the church. She spent many years as VBS director, teaching Sunday school and Bible Drills.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Pearlie Burkett, husband, Huey Knowles, one brother, Harvey Burkett and two sisters, Aurelia Gardner and Louise McLaughlin.
She is survived by four daughters, Sherry (Mike) Bell, B.J. (Archie) Dansby, Donna Coleman and (Tracy) Wayne Sullivan, all of Flomaton, daughter of her heart, Josephine (James Smith) Johnson of Flomaton, one sister, Myree Morgan of Corpus Christie, Texas, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, cousins, friends, nieces, nephews and many, many more that knew her only as “Mama” or “Nanny”.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday December 17, 2021 from the chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Hutto officiating. Interment will follow at Moyeville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Flomaton Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday.

Sandra Booker Cohron, 80, of Cantonment, Florida, a firm believer of her faith went home to be with Jesus her Lord and Savior on December 11, 2021. She was a member of East Side Assembly of God. Our sweet Mother raised her children with much love and devotion and we each felt it. She raised many fur babies who also felt her love and provided her many years of companionship and returned the love to her. Mother’s passion was gardening. She loved all types of plants and gardening provided her many hours of comfort.
Sandra is survived by daughter, Cynthia Cohron (Mark Anthony) Sacco; sons, James “Buddy” Ronald Cohron Jr. and Donald “Donnie” Ray Cohron; grandson, Ronnie James Cohron; ex-husband, James “Ronnie” Ronald Cohron; sisters, Glinda (Leon) Nall and Joanne (Tommy) Winn; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Jimmie Lou Hennington Booker; father, Robert “Bud” Booker; and brother, Bobby Booker.
Serving as pallbearers are her sons, Donnie Cohron, James “Buddy” Cohron, her son-in-law, Mark Sacco, her nephew, Stephen Nall, her grand nephew, Fisher Nall and Jeff Bledsoe whom she loved like a son.
