Joyce Booth Knowles

Joyce Booth Knowles, age 69, of Butler, AL passed away on March 17, 2022. She was born on April 10, 1952 in Escambia County, AL to Isac and Ella Moye Booth. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Marie Booth and two brothers, Frank Booth and Willie Booth.

She is survived by her sons, Donnie Blackman of Atmore, AL and Steven Knowles of Atmore, AL; her daughter, Rachael Knowles of Walnut Hill, FL; her brother, Robert (Tina) Booth of Excel, AL; her sisters, Edna (Jim) Powers of Atmore, AL, Dorothy (Mac) Rolin of Walnut Hill, FL and Mary Simmons of Atmore, AL and her grandchildren, Thomas Blackman, Ella Blackman, Crimson Blackman and Landon Blackman.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. at Bowman Cemetery in Wawbeek, AL. Interment will follow at Bowman Cemetery.

Robert Lee Johnson

March 21, 2022

Robert Lee Johnson, age 91, of Atmore, AL passed away on March 14, 2022. He was born on October 9, 1930 in Jackson, TN to Henry and Beulah Johnson. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro, TN and later became a member of Robinsonville Baptist Church. He was a proud winner of the Tennessee Senior Bowling Championship. He is preceded in death by
his parents; his wife, Helen A. Jones and his daughter, Phyllis Parks.

He is survived by his son, Rev. Phil Johnson (Shea) of Atmore, AL and three grandchildren, Dan, Ellen and Gabriel.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 at noon at Robinsonville Baptist Church in Robinsonville, AL with Rev. Phil Johnson and Dr. Larry Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Robinsonville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Charlie Woods, Joe Ray, Jerry Janes, Andrew Willis, Dan Johnson and Jimmy Langford.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at noon at Robinsonville Baptist Church.

John Hershell Scott

March 20, 2022

John Hershell Scott, resident of Molino, Florida passed away on March 16, 2022 at the age of 74. He was born on October 2, 1947 in Denver, Colorado to the late Hershell and Ovetta Downing Scott. He served his county in the U.S. Army. John was a Vietnam War Veteran where he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his bravery and service. He spent many years doing construction then ended his working career as the Director of the Radiology Department at the Naval Hospital. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by his wife, Mary-Lynne Ponson Scott; children, John (Brandy) Scott, Linda (Ronnie) Moore, Kimberly LeForte, Kelleigh (Billy) Byington, Karen Riffenburg and Randy (Crystal) Kersh; thirteen grandchildren, Collin, Maegan, Wesley, CJ, Wes, Nicole, Emily, Shelby, Bethany, Carter, Sara, Abigail, and Nella; and eight great grandchildren; sister, Carol (Tim) Bartel; brothers, Leon Scott, Tim (Sandy) Scott.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North prior to the service.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, Florida. Please meet at Olive Baptist Church, Warrington Campus at 1:15 p.m. for procession to Barrancas.

Pallbearers: Collin Scott, Wesley Bass, Billy Byington, Ronnie Moore, CJ Moore, Wes Moore.

Maria Elena Sale Fischer

Mrs. Maria Elena Sale Fischer, age 78, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at her Century, FL residence.

Mrs. Fischer was born in Port St. Joe, Florida, and was a 1961 graduate of W.S. Neal High School. She has been a resident of Century, FL for the past 60 years. She was a member of the Daughters of The American Revolution, and was honored for 50 years of membership. She was a member of the Mayflower Association as well as a member of the Edward Fuller Society. Granny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her life was filled with fishing, gardening, riding the river, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as Granny by everyone who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lafayette Lamar Sale and Elizabeth Ann Vetter.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jerry Fischer. Sr; two sons, Jerry Fischer Jr (Ramona) of McDavid, FL, and Jeff (Junia) Fischer of Pollard, AL; one daughter, Julie (Chuck) Thornton of Jay, FL; two brothers, Lamar (Fran) Sale III of Stanton, VA, and John (Lynn) Sale of Durham, NC; Ten grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. All of whom miss her dearly.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bluff Springs, FL with Bro. John Kemp officiating.

Curtis Phillip Cook

Curtis Phillip Cook, a resident of Cantonment, Florida passed away on March 15, 2022 at the age of 73. He was born on June 26, 1948 in Century, Florida to Phillip Cook and Lillian Cook (Hoover)Harris. He graduated from Chumuckla High School in 1967. Curtis joined the US Army in 1969 serving until 1971 as an E5/ SP5. He worked at International Paper from 1971 until 2005.

Curtis enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, wood working, basketball and working with his tools.

He is preceded in death by his father, Phillip Cook; and step-father, Hoover Harris.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Cathy Cook; his children Vicky (Buffy) Cook, Danna (Lonnie) Cobb, Jimmy (April) T. Waldrop, Cassy (Gordon) Gardner, Phillip (Kristi) Cook, Kolby (Brittany) Cook, Ryan Booth, Kristen Booth; mother, Lillian Jordan Cook Harris; sisters, Carol (Ron) Bryant; Glenda Davidson; along with 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Hertiage Baptist Church in Cantonment, Florida. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be: Will Coley, Matthew Cook, Randell Bell, Tony Bell, Jimmy Waldrop, Scott Bryant. Honorary Pallbearers: Kolby Cook and Ryan Booth.

Cleveland Chase Lamb

Cleveland Chase Lamb, 93 (better known as C. C. Lamb), passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022 in Hurtsboro, Alabama at his home. He slipped away peacefully in his sleep to his Eternal rest. Chase had a recent profession of faith and baptism on February 11, 2022.

He was born in Swannanoa, NC on October 3, 1928. His family moved to the Gonzalez. Fl. area in 1935. After graduation from Tate High School, He began employment with St. Regis Paper Mill, working as a millwright while also farming full time on their 153-acre farm in Cottage Hill, Fl. After retiring from the mill in 1970, they purchased a farm in Hurtsboro, Alabama in 1971 and began a full-time venture in cattle farming. After an adventurous and successful endeavor, Chase closed the corral gates for the last time in 2018, fully retiring from farming.

He is pre-deceased by his wife of 60 years, Joe Ann Lamb, and two grandchildren: Steven Chase Lamb II and Anna Louise Brown.

He is survived by his children, David Lamb of Omaha, Neb., Doug Lamb and wife Wanda of Seale, Al., Steve Lamb of Seale, Al., Sue Lamb Brown and husband Stephen C. Brown of Cantonment, Fl., Teresa Tipton of Cantonment, Fl., Robert (Ted) Lamb of Cantonment, Fl., and Mary Mathews and husband Sam Mathews of Hurtsboro, Al. Chase and Joe Ann also leave behind 29 grandchildren, 77 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. An old donkey, Jake and a feisty cat “Kitty” also survive him.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 3 p.m. CST at Hatchechubbee Baptist Church with visitation following the service.

He will be interred at Cottage Hill Community Cemetery in Cottage Hill, Fl., beside Joe Ann. Private family viewing at Faith Chapel North will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. CST prior to the graveside service.
Graveside services will be held in Cottage Hill, Fl. at the Cottage Hill Community Cemetery on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at noon, CST. Visitation will follow for family/friends while sharing a meal together at Cottage Hill Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Delorise W. Cole

Mrs. Delorise W. Cole, age 80, passed away, Monday, March 11, 2022 in Atmore, AL. She has resided in Atmore, AL; most of her life. She was baptized in 1964 and a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness of Atmore, AL. She was dedicated fulltime service of Jehovah and Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Cole valued her time seeking first to her kingdom. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, sewing, dancing, cooking baking, and working puzzles. She loved the ministry of sharing with others about the Kingdom of God.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dillard (Leonea Moffet) Washington, husband, Julian Howard Cole, daughter, Joyce Marie Cole, five sisters, Alice Adams, Mary Holt, Katie Lawson, Carry Washington, Leona Washington, five brothers, Johnny B. Washington, Charles Washington, Amos Washington, Tommy Washington, and James Washington.

She is survived by her one son, Timothy Cole, of Atmore, AL; two daughters, Angelia Deloris Cole. Of Atmore, AL; Remonda Cole, of Atmore, AL; five grandchildren, Tocarra Cole, Elbony Cole, Damien Cole, Christopher Cole, Amber Graham, two great-grandchildren, Virgil Peoples, Jr; Jaydan Peoples, other relatives, and friends.

Ida Mae Buckhault

Mrs. Ida Mae Buckhault, age 61, passed away, Sunday, March 13, 2022, in Atmore, AL. She was a lifelong resident of Atmore, Al. She was a member of Holy Ground Holiness Church.

Mrs. Buckhault valued her time she got to spend with her family. She enjoyed fishing, and riding in the wagon.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Aubrey (Vivian Anderson) Lister, husband, Perry Buckhault, four sisters, Mavis Jean Star, Agadean Hamrick, Aline Robertson, Imogene Nall, three brothers, Charles Lee Lister, John Clavin Lister, and Daniel Lister.

She is survived by her one son, Perry Joe (Mindy Jo) Buckhault, of Atmore, AL; two step-sons, Jesse (Margarie) Buckhault, of Flomaton, AL; James Buckhault, of Atmore, AL; one step-daughter, Michelle Buckhault, of Atmore, AL; one brother, William Carl (Helen) Lister, of Fayette, AL; two grandchildren, Austin Buckhault, Makayla Buckhault, six step- grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Mrs. Margaret R. Nordan, age 92, passed away, Monday, March 7, 2022 in Brewton, AL. She has resided in Flomaton, AL; most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Flomaton, AL.

Mrs. Nordan valued her time she got to spend with her family.  She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, and loved to read books.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Wilburn (Mary Crapps) Renfroe, husband, Aaron Burr Nordan, one son, James Michael Nordan, and four brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by her one daughter, Mary Anniele Eddins, of Mobile, AL; one sister, Mary Lou Lowry, of Jay, FL; one granddaughter, Tracy (Clarke) Allen, Montevallo, AL; two great-grandchildren, Kayla (Brian) Carstensen, of Calera, AL; James Allen, of Montevallo, AL; one great-great- granddaughter, Elizabeth Carstensen, of Calera, AL; other relatives, and friends.
