Earl Stanley Patterson

Earl Stanley Patterson, 87, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022. He was born on August 19, 1935 in Robertsdale, AL.

He was a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Moose Lodge.

Mr. Patterson is preceded in death by his parents, Early and Bessie Patterson and a son, Stanley Elwood Patterson.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Geraldine Patterson, a son, Shane Patterson and a grandson, Shane Earl Abney.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home, North 1000 S Highway 29 Cantonment, FL 32533. The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:00 PM the day of the service.

Marilyn Brickhouse Bright

September 6, 2022

Marilyn Brickhouse Bright of Molino, Florida passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 at her residence. She was 77 years old.

Marilyn was born in Columbia, North Carolina on July 26, 1945 to Maryland Garfield Brickhouse and Viola Elizabeth Brickhouse. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Maryland and Viola Brickhouse; sister, Mary Francis Roughton.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Carlie Churchill Bright; son, Eric Lee (Jenny) Bright; grandson, Zachary Hunter Bright; sister, Connie (Howard) Liverman; sister, Nancy (Max) Liverman; brother, Patrick (Cora) Brickhouse.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 13 2022 at 11:00am at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

Barbara Ann Dunn

Barbara Ann Dunn, age 72, passed away on September 2, 2022. She is survived by her daughter Stacy Dunn, daughter-in-law Sonya McKenney, sisters Melinda (Roy) Harris and Dot (Larry) Trawick, along with several nieces and nephews, cousins, many friends and her four legged fur baby Charlie Girl. She was preceded in death by her son Cory Dunn, her parents Gordon Scott and Annebelle Jones, and her sister Denise Ward.

Barbara was a 1967 graduate of Tate High School where she was a majorette. She went on to earn an Associate of Science in Nursing from Pensacola Junior College. She worked as an RN in several hospitals and a nursing home facility bringing great care to all of her patients. She spent 30+ years as a military wife and continued to support and honor those who served. She served on the board of her church and participated in the women’s ministry there. She was also involved in mission work. In her early years she enjoyed golf, tennis, and racquetball She took great pleasure over the years in many types of arts and crafts and playing cards and games.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Chapel North in Cantonment, Florida, September 9th at 3pm. Visitation will take place at 2:00 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations toward Covenant Hospice

Edith McBride Barnes

Mrs. Edith McBride Barnes 94, of McDavid, Florida went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2022

Edith was born July 6, 1928 to Noah and Betty McBride in Chumuckla, Florida. She was a beautician by trade, which she practiced for 40 years.

Edith is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Grady Barnes Sr.; one son James R. Barnes of Bluff Springs, Florida; her parents Noah and Betty McBride of Byrneville, Florida; one brother Mr. W.A. McBride; and one sister Mrs. Neil McBride Austin both of Pensacola, Florida.

Edith is survived by one son Mr. Grady Barnes Jr. and Pat Hendrix, of Tensaw Alabama; a daughter Mrs. Donna C Rydzowski and husband Steve of McDavid, Florida, and one brother Mr. Ray McBride and wife Miriam of Century, Florida. Edith was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

She cherished her deep spiritual relationship with the Lord thy God, and treasured her church family at Little Escambia Baptist Church in Flomaton, Alabama.

Edith loved to fish, she and Grady spent countless happy hours attempting to best one another with the biggest catch of the day. All the family loved to hear the tall tells born of many Alabama River outings and joy filled weeks spent at their Boatyard Landing, fishing camp.

Her family will sorely miss her, strength, rugged sprit, and steely grit, all characteristics of a generation rapidly fading. Most of all we will miss the love she shared so freely. This love will remain forever in our memories.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mr. Jamie Barnes, Mr. Grady L. Barnes, Mr. Steve W. Rydzowski, Mr. David B. Barnes, Mr. Jeremy Barnes, Mr. Josh G. Barnes, and great-grandson Mr. Steven W. Rydzowski II

There will be a service conducted by the Reverend’s Larry Patterson and Jonathan Hill of Little Escambia Baptist Church, held at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home on September 6th at 10:00 am followed by grave side service at Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery in Chumuckla, Florida.

It was Edith’s wish that instead of sending flowers a contribution be made, in her memory, to Little Escambia Baptist Church Building program, or in some other way to further the gospel of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, if you wish

Ronnie Lamar Champion

Mr. Ronnie Lamar Champion, age 75, passed away, Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at his home in Atmore, AL; surrounded by family at his bedside. He was born June 1, 1947 in Graceville, FL; then resided in Pace, FL; for a while before moving to Atmore, AL; for the past 14 years. He served in the United States Army for many years and awarded several medals for his honor, especially the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medals. He was a Baptist Minister serving many local churches in Escambia, AL; Escambia, FL; and Santa Rosa, FL; for many years.

Mr. Champion valued the time he got to spend with his family. He was an avid fisherman. He spent many hours studying and researching the bible. He loved spreading the gospel and bringing people to Jesus. If you know Ronnie you knew he loved the Lord and wanted everyone else to him also.

He is preceded in death by his father, Barney Ben Champion, and one granddaughter, Laura Cost.

He is survived by his mother, Eunice Collins Champion, of Milton, FL; his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn Champion, of Atmore, AL; one son, Derek (Tammy) Champion, of Sacramento, CA; one daughter, Deidre Champion (Jimmy) Peck, of Pace, FL; two brothers, Dennis (Patricia) Champion, of Kennesaw, GA; Stanley Champion, of Milton, FL; eight grandchildren, Hunter (Alyssa) Hughes, of Pace, FL; Brittany Godwin, of Pace, FL; Madilynn Peck, of Pace, FL; Ryan Peck, of Pace, FL; Courtney McGrath, of Sacramento, CA; Whitney (Cory) Batterson, of Robertsdale, AL; Hayden Champion, of Robertsdale, AL; eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Pine Level Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph Kennedy officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Level Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 10:15 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Pine Level Baptist Church.

Martha Lee Lodge

Martha Lee Lodge, 85 of Cantonment, FL passed away on August 1, 2022. She was born in Castleberry, AL on March 15, 1937 to Seth and Emma Brigham. She retired from the Escambia School District as a teacher assistant.
Martha enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling the country. As a proud Nana, she enjoyed her grand and great grandchildren. She was also an active member of the First Baptist Church of Cantonment. She was active in the Merrymakers. As a devoted wife, mother, Nana, friend and servant of the Lord, Martha will be greatly missed.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lodge; son, Keith Andrew Lodge; her parents, Seth and Emma Brigham; sisters, Mabel Hollinhead, Ruth Hagan, Lois Lister; and brother, William Brigham.
She was survived by her daughter, Cindy Hamlett; daughter-in-law, Alissa Lodge; grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Zoe, Megan and Colbi; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Spiegelhalter; brother-in-law, Daniel Lodge; a beloved niece, Judy (David) Webb; and loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Cantonment, 118 Morris Avenue, Cantonment, FL . A Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Will Stone and Pastor Terry Grey to officiate services.

Bettie Till Webb

Bettie Till Webb, age 87 of Pensacola (Cantonment), Florida passed away peacefully on August 30, 2022. She was born in Georgiana, Alabama, but spent the majority of her life in the Pensacola area. Bettie was a corporate secretary at her family-owned business, Webb Electric Company. She has been a member of Liberty Church for many years.

Bettie was preceded in death by her mother, Viola McCrory Till; her father, Paul E. Till, Sr.; her brother, Paul E. Till, Jr.; her sisters, Wanda Ruth Till Sumrall and Elizabeth Till; and a grandson, Shawn Wesley Pugh.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 71 years, Jerry T. Webb; her daughters, Renee’ Webb Pugh and Melinda Webb Schwartz (David); her son, Daniel A. Webb (Jackie); granddaughters, Jennifer Pugh Nolan (Michael), Heather Schwartz Johnson (Ernie), Sheryl Schwartz Hanssen (Eric), Stephanie Webb Schwartz, and Kristy Webb Beauchamp (Daniel); grandsons, Justin David Schwartz (Taryn), Jason Webb Schwartz (Kristy), Jaymes Alan Webb (Savannah), and Clinton Thomas Webb (Junieth), step-grandson, Bryan L. Schwartz; 8 great granddaughters; and 7 great grandsons.

A visitation will be held at Liberty Church – Blue Angel Campus on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 10AM-11AM with service beginning at 11AM. A procession to Pensacola Memorial Gardens for the committal service will follow.

Irene Ruth James

September 4, 2022

Irene Ruth James, 78, of Cantonment, FL, died on August 30, 2022, from complications of colon cancer.

Irene was born September 15, 1943, in Potsdam, NY, to Shirley Perry Jopson but was adopted by Charles and Ruth Holden at age 3. Irene graduated from Bay County High School in Panama City, FL, in 1961 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, from which she was honorably discharged in December 1962 upon her marriage to first husband, Paul Renaud. Irene and Paul had four daughters: Mary, Paula, Pamela, and Patricia.

Irene’s career included service in school lunch programs in Gulfport, MS, and in Pensacola, FL. She also worked for over 20 years for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2006.

She is predeceased by brothers Donald Perry and Gary “Chet” Jopson; sister Lynne Lavasseur; daughters Mary Renaud and Pamela Coon; and grandson Jeremiah Coon. She is survived by her brother, George Jopson (Lisa); sisters-in-law Gloria Perry and Nadine Jopson; daughters Paula Parker (Michael) and Patricia Barlow; grandchildren Patrick Peatrowsky II, Stephanie Allaire, Michael Peatrowsky, Jason Renaud, Justin Coon, Timothy Adkison II, Emily Haber; 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was an active member of Gonzalez United Methodist Church, and her closest friends were among the congregants. Irene took on projects and challenges with courage and creativity and was a role model of dependability, resilience, and love of country.

The family acknowledges Miguel Gutierrez-Diaz, DO, for over thirty years of primary care and Covenant Hospice for six days of amazing and compassionate end-of-life care. The family will have a private memorial service.

Bonnie B. Atress Reeves Rutledge

passed away on August 28, 2022 at The Waterford at Creekside Nursing Home. She was born on October 11, 1927 to Nancy Victoria Polk and Jeffery Reeves in Jay FL. She was married to Coyl E. Rutledge [Deceased]. He was a devoted and loving husband.

Bonnie lived a happy life in Pensacora Florida, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She always enjoyed having different experiences throughout her life. She worked in the first candy store in Pensacora Florida. Then she paused to raise a family. She later drove a school bus for Bellview Middle and Escambia High School for 10 years. Later she worked as a Secretary/Medical Assistant for Dr. Clyde. Miller, GP.
She enjoyed square dancing, dancing, sewing, and traveling. She was a member of the Pensacola Baptist Temple.

She is survived by her children Cheryl Mills, Nancy (Bill) Travis, Charlanche (Eric) Braswell, Priscilla (Gary) Frey. She had 10 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victoria Polk and Jeff Reeves, her son, Dewey Engro, a brother, W. C. Reeves and three grandchildren: Richy Braswell, Alicia Skipper, and Denice Barney (The girls were Cheryl Mills’, only daughters).

Services will be held at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South on Friday September 2, 2022.

Drew Curtis lifelong resident of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the age of 47. He was born on August 7, 1975 to Peggy Borden Beascoechea and George Curtis.
Drew enjoyed soccer, woodworking, and spending time with his son, Cash.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hugh and Margaret Borden and paternal grandparents, Clarene and Alta Curtis.

Drew is survived by his son, Cash Curtis; mother, Peggy (Pete) Beascoechea; father, George (Brenda) Curtis; sister, Leigh Ann (John) Rieth; brother, Stevan (Lindsay) Curtis; four nieces, Virginia Vasey, Claudia Rieth, Anna Miller and Rowan Curtis; four nephews, Jack Rieth, Justin Miller, Lane Miller and Brooks Curtis; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in the Event Room of Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.
