Jan Coleman

Jan Coleman, 73, of Century, FL, passed away on August 31, 2025. She was born on October 21, 1951, in Gulfport, MS, to Paul and Mary Frasier, of Waynesboro, MS.
Jan was the first daughter of Paul and Mary Frasier. She was “Little Ms. Waynesboro”, played piano and saxophone, and was a baton twirling majorette. Jan graduated college with a degree in interior design. As life changed courses, so did she. Jan went back to school to get her degree in chemistry. This is where she found another passion. She was a lifeguard and an entrepreneur in selling the clothing that she made. She had a wide variety of things and areas that she was passionate about. Jan loved sewing and making things of all sorts. She made clothing from sweatshirts, dance costumes, outfits for the family, even the sheets and pillowcases that they laid their heads on. She taught many children and grandchildren how to sew.
She had a love for the water, from teaching the children how to swim in the pool to hanging out on the beach with her sons (all 3). She had a love for flowers, so there always had to be flowers in the yard (sunflowers, especially). Jan loved to fish, watch “Law and Order” and sit on the porch or on her swing with a hot cup of coffee. Many grandchildren sat on the porch enjoying a cup of Nana’s hot chocolate with her. She had a love of baking and candy making. Jan loved to put on large family gatherings. They were always over the top to most but not for her- they were just right. She would cook for days on end to “get ready” as she would say. There would be so much more food than was needed and she would say “you never know who all is coming, I want to have enough”.
Christmas was her favorite time of year. Everyone knew all year to be ready for Christmas Eve at Nana’s (it will carry on). She loved watching some good football, whether it be from the stands cheering on the grandchildren or in the living room with family. Jan loved family and watched it grow through the years with many people becoming family. She has impacted a lot of lives in her lifetime, and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Gary Coleman; parents, Paul and Mary Frasier; and sister, Andreae O’Dom Busby.
Jan is survived by her brother, Paul (Vicki) Frasier of Shubuta, MS; sisters, Mona Shea (Larry) Givens of Chatom, AL, and Denise (Paul) Brown of Fruitdale, AL; sons, David Alan Coleman of Century, FL, Jeremy Coleman of Cantonment, FL, and Nick (Melissa) Fowler of Lyman, SC; daughters, Sylvia Hoy of Century, FL, and Nancy Hudson of Cantonment, FL; 15 grandchildren: Chandler, Micheal, Dillon, Nick, DJ, Jeremiah, Jacob, Joseph, Jasmine, Alex, Faith, Garrett, Damion, Mariah, and Dalton; and 13 great-grandchildren: Alexis, Liam, Destiny, Taccoa, Montana, Kingsley, Tori, JJ, Skyler, Alora, Kayden, Hezekiah and Rosalynn (on the way).
The family would like to give a special acknowledgment to friends and neighbors, Gary and Poly Johnson; and Nikki Fort, Rebecca Hudson, Nora Hudson, Racheal Sexton and Ronald Hoy, who became family many years ago and each had a special place in her heart.
Pallbearers will be Nick Fowler, Alex McMinn, Dalton Hudson, Jacob Coleman, Michael Boyd and David Hoy.
A Funeral Service for Jan were held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Trahan Family Funeral Home. Burial followed the service at Spruell Memorial Cemetery.
Chad Alan Williams

Chad Alan Williams, age 48, departed this life on September 4, 2025.
Chad was a man of quiet strength, quick wit, and deep loyalty. He had a way of making people feel at ease—whether through a well-timed joke, a helping hand, or simply being present when it mattered most. His life was marked by kindness, resilience, and a love for those closest to him.
A proud graduate of Pine Forest High School, Chad carried the values of hard work and camaraderie with him throughout his life.
He went on to co-found Williams-Brown Construction, a commercial building company he started with his business associate, Jeremy Brown. Together, they built numerous structures throughout the Pensacola area, leaving a tangible legacy of dedication, skill, and pride in their work. Chad’s mark on the community stands in steel and stone— buildings that will continue to serve and inspire for years to come.
He found joy in the outdoors, especially through hunting and fishing, and traveled extensively to pursue that passion—hunting all around the world. Yet what mattered most to him wasn’t the destination, but the company. He cherished the time spent sharing those experiences with his children, niece, and nephews. Whether it was early mornings in the woods or quiet afternoons by the water, Chad made those moments feel like adventures— full of laughter, patience, and connection.
By his side through many of those adventures was his loyal canine companion, Moose. Chad raised Moose from a puppy and trained him at some of the finest duck hunting camps in the country. The two were inseparable in the field—Moose was not just a hunting dog, but a trusted friend and a reflection of Chad’s patience, skill, and love for the outdoors.
Chad is survived by his three daughters: Makenley Williams, Maggie Williams, and Molly Williams—each of whom was the light of his life. His world revolved around them, and the love he held for his girls was deep, enduring, and unmistakable.
He is also survived by his mother, Deborah Williams; his sisters, Stephanie (Williams) Hamrac and her husband Mike, and Becky (Williams) Johnson and her husband Brandon; his cousins, Jameson Reynolds and his wife Andrea, Chris Reynolds and his wife Dawn, and Lucas Knight and his wife Dee; as well as his beloved niece, nephews, great-niece, great-nephew, extended family, and many friends.
Chad was preceded in death by his father, Wallace R. Williams Jr., and his grandfather, Wallace R. Williams Sr. Their memory lives on in the stories and love that shaped Chad’s life.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 12, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM, both at Pensacola Memorial Gardens. A graveside service will follow immediately after.
Pallbearers will be Chad Henderson, Chad Brown, Beau Pollard, Donald Perry, Steve Jordan, and Gray Hassell—each a friend and brother-in-arms who stood beside Chad in life and now honor him in rest.

Rickey Franklin Anthony

Rickey Franklin Anthony, age 40, passed away suddenly in a tragic accident on September 20, 2025, in Brewton, Alabama. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, father, and friend whose generous heart and deep love for family will never be forgotten.
Rickey was born on January 17, 1985, in Milton, Florida. A lifelong resident of Brewton, he was of the Full Gospel faith. He attended W.S. Neal School and later worked as a heavy equipment operator in the logging industry. Rickey was known for his unwavering devotion to his family, especially his beloved grandmother, Cindy Gayle Anthony, affectionately known as Mama. His kindness, loyalty, and big heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his grandmother, Cindy Gayle Anthony of Brewton, Alabama; his mother, Karen Mudd (Chris) of Corrigan, Texas; his stepmother, Darlene Anthony of Brewton, Alabama; his children, sons Eli Anthony of Century, Florida, and Eric Anthony of Century, Florida, and daughters Mary Gayle Anthony of Mobile, Alabama, Chloe Anthony of Mobile, Alabama, and Madison Anthony of Perdido, Alabama; his brothers, Blake Anthony (Kristen) of Billings, Montana, Lee Anthony of Brewton, Alabama, Chad Mudd (Becca) of Katy, Texas, and Corey Mudd (Sabrina) of Onalaska, Texas; his grandmother, Linda Watson of Shepherd, Texas; his uncles, Steve Anthony of Camden, Alabama, and John Kennedy (Kathie) of Shepherd, Texas; and his aunts, Ashley Kutac (Craig) of Rosenberg, Texas, and Saundra Anthony of Brewton, Alabama, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him deeply.
Rickey was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel M. Anthony; his grandfathers Marion F. Bud Anthony and Robert Kennedy; his uncle Mickey F. Anthony; his aunt Angela Anthony; and his nephew Conner Mudd of Katy, Texas.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 1-2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Billy Ray Singleton officiating. Interment will take place at Weaver Cemetery, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Rickey’s spirit, laughter, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Though he is gone too soon, his memory will remain a source of strength and comfort to his family and friends.
Bessie Crawford Brantley

Bessie Crawford Brantley, age 91, of Atmore, AL, passed away on September 3, 2025, in Mobile, AL.
Bessie was born on January 11, 1934, to Clarence Lee and Katie Johnson Crawford in Repton, AL. Bessie was a member of Presley Street Baptist Church. After many years of service, she retired from Vanity Fair Corporation as a seamstress. Bessie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Frank “Bud” Brantley, Jr., and her siblings.
Bessie is survived by her son, William Frank (Kelly) Brantley, III, of Atmore, AL; her daughter, Jana Lynn Brantley (William Tremmel) of Pensacola, FL; her grandchildren, Lauren Lyles and Kristen Lyles; her special niece, Mary Dow, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Sylvia Ann Lunsford

Sylvia Ann Lunsford, 73, of Pace, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30th, 2025. Sylvia was born December 6th, 1951, in Brewton, AL, to Clyde and Dollie Mae McCormick.
Sylvia was affectionately known as Mom, Nana, and Aunt Sib. She was kind, loving, and always generous. Anyone who entered her home was treated like family. Two of her favorite things were Diet Dr. Pepper and Gunsmoke. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed having her family together for special occasions. Sylvia was famous (at least in the immediate family) for her “Christmas stockings.” After all other activities were over, she would disappear only to reemerge with stockings for everyone – even the adults. It soon became a running joke that whenever she would go to another room, the family would all start yelling, “stocking time,” even when it wasn’t Christmas. On one occasion, she even hid them in a present addressed to herself so she could smuggle them into Kristen’s home without anyone knowing. She did threaten, though, to cancel Christmas anytime one of us failed to cooperate.
Sylvia also defended her daughters-in-law, claiming she didn’t know why they would put up with her sons’ antagonism and saying they could come live with her anytime they wanted.
She retired from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Max McCormick; and sister, Marie Caraway.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Sue) McKee, Kristen (Jason) Mitchem, Stephen (Mary-Catherine) McKee; her grandchildren, Alexis Mitchem, Anna McKee, Stella McKee, and Jordan McKee; siblings, Barbara Merritt (Bill), Joseph (Dorothy) McCormick, Carolyn (Skip) Tompkins, Debra Morris, brother-in-law, Lavon Caraway; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She loved her family, and her family loved her. She will be sorely missed.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday September 6, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel, 6405 Highway 90 West Milton, FL, 32570, with visitation from 12:00-1:00pm and service at 1:00pm with Rev. Mike Poston officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Walling Cemetery.
Daniel Mack Moore

Mr. Daniel Mack Moore, age 67, of Atmore, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025, after battling cancer.
Daniel was born in Flomaton on July 11, 1958, to Willodean Moore and Donald Moore, Sr. He lived in Flomaton for most of his life. He attended Flomaton Elementary and Flomaton High School where he played football and made lifelong friends. Daniel worked in the retail business, primarily at the Food Giant (Piggly Wiggly) in Century, Florida, from which he retired as Store Manager in 2018. Daniel was an active member of Flomaton First Baptist Church his entire life, where he served as deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many decades and participated in all areas of ministry. He had a great love for service to his church and his community and was especially dedicated to receiving visitors and new members and making them feel welcome. Daniel’s great passion in life was spending time with family, especially his grandsons. He enjoyed any and all activities with them, whether cheering them on at all their sporting events or playing with them at home or church.
Mr. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents – Willodean (Grover) Johnson and Donald Moore, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 8 years – Nana Coker Moore, children – Shawna (Matthew) Fillmore, Katie Lambert and Jody Day; grandsons – Jaxson, Bryson and Koleson Fillmore; brothers – Darrell (Paula) Moore, Donal (Noel) Moore; nephews – Kyle (Tori) Moore and Matthew Moore; niece Holly Moore; great nieces – Penelope and Eliza Moore.
A service celebrating Daniel’s life will be held at Flomaton First Baptist Church on August 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the Flomaton Cemetery.

Sigurd Edwin Randall, Jr

Mr. Sigurd Edwin Randall, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on August 23, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 2, 1956, to Sigurd Edwin Randall, Sr. and Ruby Alene Manning Randall, both of whom have passed away. Sigurd spent most of his life in Century, Florida, where he created many cherished memories with his family and friends. His warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was fishing, camping under the stars, or swimming in a cool river. Cooking was another passion of his, often bringing friends together for delicious meals. On Saturdays, he never missed a chance to cheer for Alabama football. In his free time, he enjoyed watching westerns and documentaries on the history channel, always eager to learn something new. Traveling to the mountains brought him joy, where he could ride his motorcycle along winding trails and experience the beauty of nature. He also relished trail riding, feeling the thrill of adventure in every turn.
He is survived by his loving wife Tina Comalander Randall of Century, Florida; three sons, Wesley David (Melanie) Randall of Pensacola, Florida, James Kimmons of Century, Florida and Dylan McGlothren of Century, Florida ; three daughters Jennifer Randall Hall of Milton, Florida, Marissa (Gene) Whitt of North Carolina and Shalaina (Wesley) Romero of Flomaton, Alabama; three sisters, Dorrine Evans of Oklahoma, Marcina Burkhart of Nevada and Christine “Christy” Gillespie of Alabama; nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at Petty Funeral Home in Atmore.
Van Douglas Sheffield

Mr. Van D. Sheffield, age 78, passed away Friday, August 22, 2025, at his home, in Milton, FL. Mr. Sheffield was born June 16, 1947. A native of McDavid, Florida, he was a graduate of Century High School, Class of 65′. Van proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, before beginning a long career as a truck driver, where he worked until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, playing computer games, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church, Bogia, FL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam B. Sheffield, Jr. and Mattie Lou Sheffield. Siblings, William E. Sheffield, and Robert F. Sheffield.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Yeckley) Sheffield of Milton, FL. Siblings, Missy (Elton) Gilmore of McDavid, FL; Elaine Johnson of Pace, FL; and Sam (Anita) Sheffield of Tallahassee, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogia, FL.
Amanda ‘Lucy’ Amerson

Mrs. Amanda “Lucy” Amerson of Century, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 19, 2025 at the age 68.
Lucy as everyone knew her was a beautiful, sweet, kind soul. She was always cooking and baking something if not for her family it would be for church gatherings or to feed whomever was in need. Lucy attended Holy Ground Gospel Church in Flomaton, Alabama. Where she loved to sing God’s praise. To the children at church, she was the candy lady. Lucy never met a stranger and if she did, they would be family before you knew it, she had such a good heart and loved everyone with her whole heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Syble Ratliff, son, David Paul Amerson, siblings, Alma Dixon, Dallas Ratliff, Patsy K. Capps, and Patty Inman, nephews, Mark Dixon, Byron Ratliff, and Daniel Wood “Boone” and her best friend, Jackie Lambert, numerous other relatives.
Lucy is survived by her children, Alma (Larry) Day, of Molino, Florida, Justin (Wendy) Amerson, of Milton, Florida grandchildren, Camron (Leiah) Day, Cameron, Joey, Jake (Mel), great-grandchildren, baby, Ellie due in November Captain, Maddie, Penelope and Bonnie, nieces, who are more like her daughters Evelyn (Cliff) Emmons, Belinda (Daniel) Morgan, Michelle Ratliff, nephews, David Dixon, Bert (Dovee) Dixon, Eddie (Carolyn) Dixon, Kevin Dixon, and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Lucy was the last one of her generations. She is now surrounded in Heaven by the ones whom have gone before her. But mostly she is with Jesus and her son. We love you Mama. To know Lucy, was to love Lucy.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC; with Sister Kathy Stophel officiating.
Burial will follow at Byrneville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC.
Pallbearers will be Cliff Emmons, Daniel Morgan, Kevin Dixon, Quinton Emmons, Dylan Dixon and Zeb Vega.
Honorary pallbearers will be Camron Day and Austin Dixon.

Ralph Lee Griffin, Jr.

Ralph Lee Griffin, Jr. 78, of Cantonment, FL, passed away on August 19, 2025.
He was born in Kerrville, TX, to parents, Ralph Lee Griffin, Sr., and Rose Griffin. Ralph was a perfect child, always considerate of others, playing with his siblings. He would always hang out with his friends, also very sweet and kind, all around perfect person.
In his adult years he worked as a chemical operator.
Ralph was an amazing dad, always wanted to show his girls how to build and fix things so they would be prepared for life. He was a loving and supportive dad and husband.
Ralph was part of the Patriot Guard Riders and the Army National Guard.
He is preceded in death by his mom and dad.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Debby Griffin; daughters, Tiffany Griffin, Megan Washington, and Sheena St. Pierre; numerous grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2025, with visitation at 10:30 a.m. at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Pensacola.
