Norma Wong Turner

Norma Wong Turner, 71, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on November 19, 2022. She was born in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico on February 5, 1951 to Fortino Navarro Cota and Arcelia Wong. She was married to Steven Mark Turner for 44 years. Norma worked as a cashier in the food service department at the University of West Florida. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church and had a passion for the Lord and supporting others.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Fortino Navarro Cota and Arcelia Wong.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Turner; daughter, Michelle Turner; and granddaughter, Selena Turner.
The family will receive friends for a visitation from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Faith Chapel North. A rosary will be done during the visitation. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church with Father Hank Lech officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Alfred Jernigan, age 61, of McDavid, FL passed away at his residence on November 18, 2022. He was born on May 8, 1961 in Century, FL to Clayton and Agnes “Kitty” McCawley Jernigan. He was a truck driver most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Jimmy Jernigan and Harold Jernigan.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Cooper Jernigan; his sons, Steven (Brandy) White of Walnut Hill, FL, Brandon Jernigan (Adam Fanion) of Phoenix, AZ; his brothers, Lee Marvin Jernigan of McDavid, FL and Mike Beals; his sisters, Annette (Fred) Crews of Pensacola, FL, Cindy (Jack) McCraw of Pace, FL; his grandchildren Cassidy (Michael) Smith, Alexis White and his 2 great grandchildren Hazel Smith and Meela Smith. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Rodney “Buddy” Cooper of Repton, AL; Rickey (Kathy) Cooper of Pensacola, FL; Shannon (Martha) Cooper of Repton, AL; sister-in-law Gloria Cooper Brantley of East Brewton, AL and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Sue Godwin.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11 AM at Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogia, FL with Bro. Ted Bridges officiating. Interment will be at Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Smith, Kevin Maher, Wesley Morris, Josh Heist, Robby Barrow and Jeffrey Steadham.
Henry O’Neal McKinley

Henry O’Neal McKinley, age 78, of Canoe, AL passed away on November 18, 2022 in Bay Minette, AL. He was born on February 26, 1944 in Robinsonville, AL to Fred McKinley, Sr. and Aggie Taylor McKinley. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, and qualified as an expert marksmen two times. He was the owner/operator of his own tractor-trailer for many years and leased to Genie Trucking Line. He also was a master carpenter. Henry was a
member of First Baptist Church of Canoe and an avid reader. He loved gardening especially growing and giving away satsumas. Henry also enjoyed going to Eureka Landing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Helen J. McKinley, and his infant sister.
He is survived by his son, Kevin (Sondra) McKinley of Canoe, AL; his brother, Fred (Voncile) McKinley, Jr. of Defuniak Springs, FL; his sister, Estelle McKinley Hinote of Bay Minette, AL; his grandchildren, Jackson Reed, Autumn (Josh) Day and Abby Reed along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 10 AM at First Baptist Church of Canoe with Bro. Waylon Stuckey officiating. Interment will follow in Canoe Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 9 AM until service time at 10 AM at First Baptist Church of Canoe.
Active pallbearers will be Dennis Wright, Judson Carden, Jackson Reed, Alex Lowery, Butch Darby and Allen Driskell.
April Frazier

April Frazier, 42, of Molino, Florida, passed away on November 17th, 2022. She was born in Milton, Florida on May 6, 1980 to Charles and Carol Wise. She was partnered with Clay Powell for 10 years. April had a career in the medical field and worked for Santa Rosa, Sacred Heart, and West Florida clinics. She had a passion for walks on the beach at dawn, spotting cardinals in the yard, flamingos, and collecting seashells. April was an avid Alabama fan – ROLL TIDE!
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Wise. She was survived by her mother, Carol Oliver; her son, Lane Frazier; her daughter, Laura Frazier; her partner, Clay Powell and his daughter, Kinzey Powell; and all of her loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.
Franklin Delano “Runt” Bryan

Franklin Delano “Runt” Bryan, age 89, of Atmore, AL passed away on November 19, 2022, in Pensacola, FL. He was born on March 9, 1933 in McCullough, AL to Jack and Louisa Buck Bryan. Franklin served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He also was the general manager with Allstate Beverage Company.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Louisa Bryan; his sister, Miriam Bryan; his brother, Oscar Bryan; his stepson, Joey Davis and his step-daughter, Debby Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Oliva Wiggins Bryan of Atmore, AL; his sons, Keith (Stephanie) Bryan and Kelly Bryan; his daughter, Karen (Holly) Lundy; his siblings: Virginia Newman of NC, Winston Bryan of Atmore, AL, Wendell Bryan of NC, and Nell Covington of Uriah,
AL; seven grandchildren: Keisha Lee, Brannon Sanspree, Niki Becton, Carlee Lundy, Randon Watson, Cord Cook and Sharley Cook along with many wonderful great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson- Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Gartman officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, AL with military honors.
Active pallbearers will be Randon Watson, Raycer Watson, Landon Watson, Ollie Watson, Brannon Sanspree and Blaize Thomas.

Clair Elizabeth Wise McGill

Clair Elizabeth Wise McGill, age 81, of Atmore, AL passed away on November 18, 2022 in Atmore, AL. She was born on September 15, 1941 in Atmore, AL to Odus and Thelma Elizabeth Hawke Wise. She received a Bachelor’s degree with Samford University and a Master’s degree with Troy University. Clair was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore and was a retired teacher with the Escambia County Alabama School System. She is preceded in death by her parents, Odus and Elizabeth Wise; her sister, Nan Reia Norris and her brother-in-law, James Norris.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Terre McGill; her nieces: Tina Norris Brooks (Scott) of Atmore, AL, René Norris Godwin (Lamar) of Oak Grove, FL, Michele Norris of Auburn, AL and Lexie McGill Thorsen (Dennis) of Pensacola, FL; six nieces and nephews and eight great-great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, AL.
Active pallbearers will be Zach Brooks, Norris Brooks, Ethan Brooks, Lamar Godwin, Bryan McGill and Dennis Thorsen.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
Tommy Lowery Steely

Mr. Tommy Lowery Steely of Old Fannie Road in Flomaton, AL passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022 at a Century FL health care facility.
Mr. Steely was a lifelong resident of Century, FL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was employed by Container Corporation for a number of years. He was a member of Flomaton First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and was a fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Mr. Steely was preceded in death by his wife, Jacquelyn Steely; his parents, Sid Steely and Dora Dean Steely; and sons, Tommy Steely, Jr. and Keith Steely.
He is survived by a daughter, Kellie Steely of Flomaton; a grandson, Tyler Jacob Steely of Flomaton; and special family members, John (Kristen) Steely, Sandy Steely, Travis Steely and Stanley (Bobbie) Dixon.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. from the chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Bro. Patrick Carden officiating. Interment will follow at Flomaton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 12 Noon until service time at 1:00 P.M. at Flomaton Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Flint

Elizabeth Flint, 65, of Century, Florida, passed away on November 14th, 2022. She was born in Manila, PI on August 20th, 1957 to Policarpio and Julia. She was married to John J. Flint for 43 years.
Elizabeth loved her family and was a domestic engineer of the flint household. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, arts and craft.
She is preceded in death by her father Polocarpio M. DeJesus and mother Julia Palmani.
She is survived by her husband John Flint; children Michael James Flint, Kaleena Nicole Blake and Joseph Anthony Flint; grandchildren Julia M. Boswell, Jayden N. Saxton, Brees A. Farell, Kennedy N. Blake, Jax C. Flint, Luna R. Blake and Elise Q. Flint and sisters Serapia DeJesus and Laurie Lourdes Donahue.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 22,2022 at 1:00PM at Poplar Dell Church in Century, Florida. Visitation will be prior to service at the church
Jessie Roger ‘Sarge’ Hartley

Jessie Roger “Sarge” Hartley, 78, of Molino, Florida, passed away on November 5, 2022. He was born in Columbus, Georgia on March 25, 1944 to Merle Dearmore. Sarge was married to the love of his life, Judith Hartley, for 49 years.
In 1962 at the age of 18 he joined the US Army where his tours of duty took him to Germany, Korea and Vietnam. He also served several years in the Florida National Guard where he was named Florida’s top recruiter in 1979. In 1988 “Sarge” was one of the selected few to attend the Sergeants Major Academy and retired after 31 years of service as 1st Sergeant. After his military career, he and Judy started their own Janitorial service. He enjoyed gardening, fresh water fishing, spending time with his family and Maltese pups.
Sarge is survived by his wife, Judith Hartley; brother, Michael Hartley; children, Delores Shanahan, Jesse Lucio, Rhonda Stillwater, Robin Walker, and Tiffany Gray; grandchildren, Allison Lucio, Megan Shanahan, Jesse Robert Lucio, Madison Lucio, Nicole Goodman, Grey Walker, and Hunter Walker.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Faith Chapel North with Revered Bill Flannigan officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Barbara Joan Clark Rixey

Ms. Barbara Joan Clark Rixey, age 72, of Davisville, FL, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, at HCA Florida West Hospital after fighting colorectal and lung cancer.
She was born in Miami Beach, FL to the late James Tyrell and Eunice Viola Seales Clark. She was valedictorian of 1968 graduating class at Ernest Ward High School and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Education at the University of West Florida. She volunteered many years as a Junior Girl Scout Leader and pursued a career in the medical field in Tampa, Florida.
Ms. Rixey is survived by David Owen Rixey; one daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Sleczkowski; granddaughters, Alexis Sleczkowski, Amber Sleczkowski, Marie Sleczkowski, Natalie Sleczkowski, Sophia Sleczkowski; her brother, Tyrell (Rose) Clark; her sisters, Connie (Gordon) Raines, Carolyn Green; four nephews, two nieces, one grandnephew and two grandnieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ann Jamie Clark
Bingham.
Graveside Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Dry Springs Cemetery in Walnut Hill, FL.
