Northview High School cheerleaders are selling Threads of Hope Bracelets. The Threads of Hope bracelets are handmade by working women and families in the Philippines. Of each $2 bracelet sold, $1 goes to the Northview cheerleaders and $1 goes back to the Filipino women and their families. Manna Nets 73,665 Pounds Of Food From Letter Carrier Drive

Saturday’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties collected 73,665 pounds of food for Manna Food Pantries. NHS Tribal Beat Band Holds Annual Banquet

The Northview High School Tribal Beat Band held their annual banquet Monday night at the school.
Seniors were presented a trophy, while the other members of the band, color guard, majorettes and dance team were presented with a certificate and a medallion commemorating a state championship.

Tate ‘Cantus’ Chorus Shines At Performance Assessment

The ladies from J.M. Tate High School “Cantus” Chorus traveled to Tallahassee recently to participate in the “Florida Vocal Association State Music Performance Assessment”.
Only choirs who earned a superior rating at the district level MPA were qualified to attend this event. After many long rehearsals, careful listening and fine tuning, they delivered an outstanding and emotional performance that drew the attention of many audience members as well as other choirs and directors from around the state including the Florida Vocal Association Executive Director Mark Scott. Scott personally expressed how impressed he was with how Escambia County had been represented.
The choir is under the direction of Cynthia Domulot.

Baby Blue: Local Author Holds Book Signing At Molino Library

The Molino Branch Library held a book signing with local author Lloyd Albritton Saturday as he autographed new copies of his new book Baby Blue.
Albritton grew up in Nokomis, Fla., and currently lives in Atmore. Both locations are the setting for Albritton’s first novel. Baby Blue is a fictional story of murder and family tragedy in 1951.

Scallan, Ware Graduate From Basic Training

Air Force Airman Ryan T. Scallan and Airman Casey T. Ware have graduated from basic military training.

Air Force Airman Ryan T. Scallan graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Scallan is the son of Susan Gray of Pensacola. He is a 2011 graduate of Tate High School in Cantonment.
Airman Casey T. Ware
