Christmas Parades Today In Molino, Atmore, Chumuckla And More

Several Christmas parades are planned for Saturday across the North Escambia area:
Dec. 10 — Molino Christmas Parade
The annual Molino Christmas Parade on Crabtree Church Road will be Saturday at 1 p.m. Ends with Santa Claus at the Molino Ballpark. Signups available until parade time.
Dec. 10 — Pensacola Christmas Parade
The Pensacola Christmas Parade will be held at 5:15 p.m. Saturday in downtown Pensacola. Featuring local bands and the Blue Angels.
Dec. 10 — Atmore Twilight Christmas Parade
This year’s Atmore Twilight Christmas Parade, with the theme “A Christmas Gift”, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Dec. 10 — Chumuckla Redneck Parade
The Chumuckla Redneck Parade through “downtown” Chumuckla will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Bonfire Jam concert to follow.
Dec. 10 — Brewton Christmas Parade
The Brewton Christmas Parade will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Dec. 10 — Milton Riverwalk Boat Parade
The Milton Riverwalk Boat Parade will be Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Riverwalk.
Byrneville Elementary Christmas Carnival Is Tonight
December 9, 2011
The annual Byrneville Elementary School Christmas Carnival will be held tonight at the school. Games will be from 5-7 p.m. outside, and a basket auction will begin at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Game tickets will be sold until 3 p.m. at the school at five for $1; tickets will be four for $1 at the event. Food — including barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, french fries, boiled peanuts and a variety of sweets — can be purchased with cash or tickets.
Basket themes in the auction will include Thomas the Train, Disney princess, Cars, Hello Kitty, toddler toys, Legos, collegiate sports, John Deere, girls’ dress up, fishing, hunting, sport and entertainment.
All proceeds from the carnival benefit the school.

Dec. 9 — Poarch Creek Parade
The Poarch Creek Indian Christmas Parade will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 9 on the reservation north of Atmore. Departs from the gym and ends at the health department.
Dec. 10 — Molino Christmas Parade
The annual Molino Christmas Parade on Crabtree Church Road will be Saturday, December 10 at 1 p.m. Ends with Santa Claus at the Molino Ballpark. To enter the parade, stop by Fran’s Diner on Highway 29 for information and to sign up.

Open House At Wildlife Sanctuary Of Northwest Florida

The Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida is holding a Holiday Open House and Give A Hoot Supply Drive today at 105 North “S” Street in Pensacola. The event will take place from noon until 3:30 p.m.
There will be facility tours, music, unique gifts, children’s story time, food and games. Cameras are encouraged.
The facility is in need of these items on daily basis: sweet potatoes, venison or red meat, fresh or frozen chicken or fish, peanuts in the shell, pecans, puppy Science Diet, suet, peanut butter, liquid laundry soap, first class stamps, monetary donations and gift cards from Walmart, Lowe’s and Home Depot.

Cox Experiences Internet, Phone, 911 Outage

Cox Communications customers are currently experiencing service outages that include 911 telephone service. Residents in need of emergency services are advised to use their cell phones to call 911. Cox is currently working on the issue and hopes to restore services soon, according to Cam Johnson, Escambia County spokesman.
