Charles Grover Everette, 79, of Atmore died Friday July 30, 2010, at his residence.

He was retired, from Smith Tractor Co. as a part salesman, born in Escambia County, Alabama, on September 22, 1930, to the late Jessie Earl and Georgia Mae Turberville Everette, Sr. He was a member of the Brooks Memorial Baptist Church and a lifetime deacon, and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is preceded in death by a son, Stephen Grover Everette.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Kizer Everette; two sons, Richard Lee Everette and Michael Scott Everette; wife, Wanda; one daughter, Carolyn Denean Barnett and husband Wayne, all of Atmore; two brothers, Smith Everette and wife, Mable of Bay Minette; Gordon Everette and wife, Jettie of Atmore; one sister, Alma Miles of Atmore; seven grandchildren, Kerri Leigh Wilson of Ft. Polk, LA, Jessie Lee Everette of Ft. Braggs, NC., Niki Leigh Everette, Daryl Thomas Leto, Cody Scott Everette. Stephanie Marie Everette, and Carson Leah Barnett all of Atmore; two great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Everette and Jayla Wilson both of Ft. Polk, LA..

Services will be Monday August 2, 2010, at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Hugh Long officiating. Interment will follow in Canoe Freewill Baptist Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Sunday evening August 1, 2010, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Marie Wooten, 71, of Atmore died Thursday, July 29, 2010, at her residence.

She was a homemaker, born in McCullough on February 27, 1939, to the late Ed and Adar Langham Drew.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Wooten of Atmore; three sons, Drew Wooten and wife, Alicia, of Pensacola; Robert Wooten and wife, Tina, of Uriah and Ed Wooten and wife, Melissa, of Atmore; two brothers, Edson Drew of Mobile and Edward Drew of Tennessee; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in McCullough Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers include Ashley Buck, Mark Lewis, Wayne Drew, Todd Booker, Eddie Booker and Jamie Booker.

Susan J. Mura, 63, of Atmore died Tuesday July 27, 2010 at her residence. She was a registered nurse, born in Centrailia, Illinois on April 23, 1947, to the late
Hewitt J. and Lucy Carpenter Cook..

Survivors are husband of of 46 years, Joseph Mura, Jr. of Atmore; one son, Joseph Mura III and wife, Ranae of Atmore; two daughters, Tammy Boon and
husband John of LaGrange, KY; Deborah Mura of Atmore; seven grandchildren, Heather, Brittany, Russell, Alexandra, Brittany, Taylor and Landon; one great-grandchild, Brentli.

Services will be Saturday July 31, 2010, at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill cemetery. Active pallbearers will
be the grandchildren and honorary pallbearers will be Brentli and Landon.

Stella Caroline Godwin

Stella Caroline Godwin, 92, of Oak Grove, died Tuesday July 27, 2010, at her residence. She was a Nurse with the U.S. Navy Nursing Corp, born November 4, 1917,in Whippany Morris CO. New Jersey to the late Stanislaus and Mary Smach Golba.

She is preceded in death by her husband Marshall Godwin.

Survivors are a son, David Marshall Godwin of Pensacola, two daughters, Susan L. Godwin of El Paso, TX, Ramona Godwin Cole of Ottawa, Canada. Two grandchildren, Anne-Louise Cole and Colleen Cole.

All of her caregivers will be honorary pallbearers, special friends: Wilson and Ruthie Sims, Roy “Buddy” and Marvette Godwin, Franklin “Shorty” Carnley and Bronna and Grant Godwin.

Services will be Friday July 30, 2010, at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Tom Simard officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Family will receive friends, Thursday evening July 29, 2010 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Evelyn G. Avery Vannoy (GiGi) of Pensacola, Florida at age 70 passed away quietly the morning of Friday, July 23, 2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital after going through open-heart surgery.

Evelyn was born on April 17, 1940 in Bratt, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents Inolia and Charlie Avery one aunt, three uncles, one niece, and two nephews. She is survived by her husband Gordon, two children Jeffrey Clay Vannoy and Vicki Michele Beauchaine, and their spouses, Beverly Bell Vannoy and Brian Beauchaine. She has four grandchildren Langley Bell Vannoy, Clayton Jeffery Vannoy, Blake Gordon Dungca, and Avery Nicole Beauchaine.

Evelyn has one sister Helen Chavers, two sisters in law Kathy Forrester and Leila Vannoy. She also has a very close cousin Shirley Jordan. She had two aunts Beatrice Singleton and Lillian James.

She attended Tate High School where she was a majorette in the band. Tate High is where she met her husband of 53 wonderful years, Gordon Vannoy. She was a member of the eastern star, a long time employee of a few local Ford dealerships, a member of Bernice Star Step dance studio where she loved to tap dance. Over the last 10 years she has enjoyed NASCAR. She was a fan that will truly be missed. Evelyn and Gordon loved to travel to many NASCAR events where she had many great friends as she fondly referred to as her ”racing buds”, and she was better known as Miss. Talladega Blvd. Her most valued possessions were her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was loved by many special family members and friends, too many to mention. She will be loved and missed.

Andrew “Drew” Brian Crosby

Andrew “Drew” Brian Crosby, 27, of Cantonment, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 following an automobile accident.

Andrew was born in Columbus, MS on January 19, 1983. He moved to the Pensacola area at the age of 3. He was employed by Defense Stamping and Engineering as a Machinist/ Welder for the past 4 years. He grew up with a love of sports, including baseball, soccer, and golf. He graduated from J. M. Tate High School in 2001.

On September 29, 2005, the brightest light and love of his life was born, his beautiful baby girl, Brooke. They were inseparable when they were together. They especially loved snuggle time, playing games, swimming, and going to the park. She will greatly miss her Daddy!

He is survived by his “41/2″ years old daughter, Brooke Paige Crosby, his parents, Larry and Mary Crosby of Cantonment, his sister Amanda McGee and her husband J.R. of Pensacola, Grandparents Bud and Billie Jean Crosby of Petal, MS, grandparents Buck and Mary Rogers of Petal, MS, aunt Deborah (Blaine) Sills, aunt Denise (Mike) Jenkins, Uncle Buddy (Mary) Rogers, William (Joyce) Rogers all of Mississippi, Marina (Craig) Willeford of Oklahoma and many loving and supportive cousins, as well as other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his twin nephews, Matthew Caleb and Jacob Connor McGee.

He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church for the past 4 years, where he made many new friends. The pastor and members of the church have been a great support to Andrew as he has struggled with health problems the last few years.

Even though health problems plagued Andrew the past 2 years, he was still able to maintain a positive and upbeat attitude. He was known for his kind heart and willingness to help others in need. The sweet nature that GOD gave him was even more evident in the way children and animals were drawn to him. In his short time he has touched many lives: strangers, friends, and family alike. He would want us all to celebrate his life and focus on happier, good times. He will be greatly missed by many and never forgotten.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Orvis and Loyie Williams. He is survived by his children, Angie (Martin) Mitchell and Keith (Mary) Williams, Jr.; grandchildren, Keith Williams, III, and Kayla and Shane Mitchell; and brothers, Gerald (Opal), Harold (Juanita), Don (Denise), Ronnie (Vicki), and Steve(Connie) Williams.

Winnie Irene McGowan Bryant, 92 of Atmore, Ala. died Thursday July 22, 2010, in Atmore. She was a homemaker, born in Pine Mountain, Ala. on January 8, 1918, to the late Francis and Josephine Billingsley McGowan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Cameron E. Bryant E. Bryant, her youngest daughter, Jessie Ruth Bryant Bruner, five sisters and one brother.

Survivors are her children, Cameron E. Bryant (Mary) of Winfield, Ala., Ronald L. Bryant (Virginia) of Prattville, Al. Frances J. Bryan (Robert) of Benton, La., Mary B. Jernigan (Glenn) of Atmore, Ala., Alvin H. Bryant (Theresa) of Autaugaville, Ala. A son-in-law, Thomas Bruner of Tuscaloosa, Ala., 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday July 24, 2010, at noon from the First Baptist Church of Atmore with Rev. Jerry Caylor officiating, Interment will follow in Serenity Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Ty Bryan, Steve Jernigan, Damon Jernigan, Thom Bruner, Jr, Richard Bryant and Damon Glenn “Tab” Jernigan.

After a brief battle with cancer, W.D. “Jack” Moran went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, July 20, 2010. He was 68 years old.

Jack is preceded in death by his mother, father and son, Kevon Moran.

Jack was married to the love of his life, Julie Booth-Moran for nearly nine years. He is survived by Julie and his daughter, Kerry Lynn Deason (Greg) and grandchildren Madelyn and Harrison Deason. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Kimberly Graham (Clint) and grandchildren Taylor, Mary Hollis and Garrett.

Through his marriage to Julie, Jack has two nephews, Riley and Corey Skaggs, one niece, Danielle Skaggs and great nieces and nephew Beverly Skaggs, Kayla Turner and Logan Skaggs.

He is also survived by a godson Ivory Brown and goddaughter Ty McGee.

Jack was a member of New Life Baptist Church, Century.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 24, 2010, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Byrneville United Methodist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow. Internment will be at the Byrneville Methodist Cemetery. Pastor Irvin Stallworth amd Pastor Lou Cabeller officiating.

Mr. Frank Edward Bondurant, 93, died June 13, 2010 in a Brewton nursing facility. He was a native of Flomaton and a long time resident or Panama Republic of Panama. He was owner and operator of a lumber mill. He was a member of Flomaton First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Dewey and Alta Shipp Bondurant; his brothers, John C. Bondurant and H.P. Bondurant; a baby son Bondurant; his sisters, Mary E. White, Grace E. Butler, Ethel V. Bondurant and Alta L. Bondurant.

He is survived by his sons, Charles (Sherri) Bondurant of El Paso, Texas, Jay (Sheila) Bondurant of East Brewton, and Dennis (Summer) Bondurant of Castleberry; two daughters, Altha (Jim) Bailey Beers and Dalia (Christopher) Long, both of Brewton, two brothers, Dewey Bondurant Sr. of Flomaton and Alfred Bondurant of Panama; sisters, Jewel Dean of Flomaton; Willean Sales of Monroeville, Juanita Howell and Dawn Printy, both of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Charles Derek Bondurant, Caleb Beers, George and Mike Arauz, Ashton Muth, Cameron Elsey, Jacob and Kim Bondurant, Vivian Muth, Alex Bondurant, Gianna Bailey, Summer, Jailyn, Maegan and Holland Bondurant; great-grandchilren, Beth Folos, Nikki Wilfong and Billy Beers.
