Joyce Ann Komorowski

Joyce Ann Komorowski, 61, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2011, at the Joyce Goldenberg Hospice Residence. She was born in Clanton, AL, and resided in Molino. Joyce was a very caring and loving person.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen “Butch” Komorowski.

We would like to thank the nurses and staff of Joyce Goldenberg Hospice Residence for the wonderful and thoughtful care they gave her. Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. We will always love you.

C. Wilson Johnson

November 18, 2011

C. Wilson Johnson, age 80, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011, in Atmore. He was a native of Neshoba County, MS, and a resident of Atmore for most of his life. Wilson was owner of Johnson Timber Company and best remembered as an outdoorsman and cane-maker/log-puller at Williams Station Days. He loved horses, dogs, people, and “the woods”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Carlene Johnson, and two sisters, Ethelyn Stribling and Frances Hewitt.

Wilson is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carole Johnson; two sisters, Corrine Brister and Ellen Kahl; one brother, Rodney Johnson; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Julie Johnson; and two grandsons and a grand daughter-in-law, Matt and Anne Johnson and Drew Johnson.

A graveside service was held on Friday, November 18, 2011 at from Oak Hill Cemetery.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Wayne Berry Nall

Wayne Berry Nall, 61 of Atmore,  died Tuesday November 15, 2011, in Atmore..

He was employed with Frontier Communication’s with 39 years of services. He was born in Atmore,  on December 12, 1949, to the late Marshall and Mary Lou Bennett Nall. He was a 1968 graduate of Escambia County High School.

He is survived by a son, Wayne Berry Nall II and wife Natalie of Atmore; daughter; Marlo Nall Webb of Foley; a granddaughter, Perry Ellen Webb of Foley; two sisters; Marsha Whelpley of Atlanta and Marilyn and husband George O’Neil of Orange Beach, AL; and his companion Carolyn Harrison.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011, at 10 a.m. from the Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Brother Gene King and Brother Wade Clark officiating. Internment will follow at a later date.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 18, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. from the Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Diabetes Association.

Atmore Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

G. Carlton Stewart

November 16, 2011

G. Carlton Stewart age 83 of Jay passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011. He was a longtime resident of the Walling Community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Melissa Stewart; wife, Voncille Miller and brother, James Stewart.

He is survived by his brother, Vernon (Lois) Stewart of Kerrvillie, TX; sister, Eva (Curtis) Joyner of Jay and seven nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011, at Jay Funeral Home at 2 p.m.. with Rev. Lee Joyner officiating services. A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will follow at Walling Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Adam Weaver, Brandon Weaver, Bruce Holland, Melvin Holland, Robert Joyner and Jimmy White.

Cleo Rowell Sellers

November 16, 2011

Mrs. Cleo Rowell Sellers, 76, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011, in Atmore.

She was a native of Canoe and a resident of Atmore for most of her life. She attended the Pentecostal church and was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Brown; her parents, Pete and Lillie Rowell; and two brothers, Mac Rowell and Curtis Rowell.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Archie Sellers of Atmore; three daughters, Wanda (Chipper) Staff, Vickie (Buddy) Carrier, and Sandra (Mark) Brown, all of Atmore; five grandchildren, Angela Leachman, Michelle Smith, Scott Fayard, Casey Fayard and Josh Brown; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Rowell of Mobile; and six sisters, Tiny Womack, Ernestine Forte, and Willodean Davis, all of Atmore, Lurea Bailey of Bratt, Jeanette Small of Hanover, PA, and Joyce Fogg of Portale, NM.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Hollis R. Bell

November 16, 2011

Mr. Hollis R. Bell, 70, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at a Pensacola hospital.

Mr. Bell was a native of Goodway, AL, and a resident of Flomaton  for the past 62 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, worked in the oil field service and attended the Holiness church.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Mitchell Bell of Flomaton; his mother, Eunice Silcox Lambeth of Flomaton; a sister, Linda Fay Steadham of Flomaton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 18, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Homer Stewart and the Rev. Leo Kent officiating.  Burial will follow at Flomaton Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 17, 2011, from 6-9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Margaret Helen Blanton Mauldin

Mrs. Margaret Helen Blanton Mauldin, 82, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at a Pensacola hospital.

Mrs. Mauldin was a native and lifelong resident of Bratt and attended the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, A.J. and Melda Blanton.

She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Paul Garfield Mauldin of Bratt; three sons, James Thomas and Jennie Mauldin of Cantonment, William Allen and Peggy Mauldin of Atmore, and Gary Michael Mauldin of Pensacola; her daughter, Paula Mauldin and James Watson of Pensacola,; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Eldridge Blanton of Pensacola; and a Sister, Diane Blanton and Kenneth Lee of Pensacola.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore with the Rev. Tim Floyd and the Rev. Ronald Hall officiating. .

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, 2011, from 6-9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Burial will be held Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 1:15 p.m. at the Barancas National Cemetery.

Mable L. McElhaney

November 11, 2011

Mable L. McElhaney, age 90 of Bratt, went home to be with her Lord and Savior November 10, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents Caleb E. and Mamie King Etheredge and her husband Cecil McElhaney. Her family was her life.

She is survived by her children Betty (Jim) McDill of Mobile; Sharon (Bill) Bryan of Macon, GA, Jimmy (Judi) McElhaney of Bratt, Jerry (Gleda) McElhaney of Bratt and Vicki (Tim) Cook of Davisville,; one sister, Mittie Love of Pensacola; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and many family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011, at 11 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Owen and Rev. Doug Odom officiating. Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011, from 10 a.m. until service time from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore.

Kenneth Murray Nolin

November 11, 2011

Mr. Kenneth Murray Nolin, age 53, a native of Flomaton,and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Tuesday November 8, 2011, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. Mr. Nolin worked as a chemical engineer and was a lifelong University of Alabama football fan and had a love for all competitive sports. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Zin Nolin.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Ochomogo Nolin of Baton Rouge, LA; mother, Merle Nolin of Flomaton; daughters, Jennifer(Brian) McDonald of Monroeville and Jessica (Todd) Levins of Byrneville; step-sons, Anselmo Rodriguez and Oswaldo (Whitney) Rodriguez, both of Baton Rouge, LA; brothers, David (Jo) Nolin of Flomaton, Douglas (Barbara) Nolin of Mobile, and Steve Nolin of Vancouver, WA; and five grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Kenneth Murray Nolin will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Flomaton First Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with Dr. Jerry Keese and Rev. Dustin Stockstill officiating. Interment will follow in Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.

Monroe ‘Kemp’ Moore, Sr.

Mr. Monroe ‘Kemp’ Moore, Sr., 70 of Century passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at his home. He was a lifetime resident of the Century community and a 1958 graduate of Century High School where he was captain of the Century Blackcats football team.

During his working years, he worked at Wayne Dalton Doors as a supervisor and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the United states Army having served in the 101st Airborne where he was wounded in service. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and he is preceded in death by his parents, Paul W. and Myrtle Gill Moore,Sr.; his wife of 42 years, Sylvia Grimes Moore; sisters, Edna Garrett and Helen McCrary.

He is survived by his sons, Monroe Kemp (Marian) Moore, Sr. of Byrneville, Dabney (Dana) Langhorne of McDavid, and Steve (Frances) Langhorne of Cedar Creek, TX; brothers, John G. Moore of Arkansas and Paul W. ‘Pete’ Moore, Jr. of Bluff Springs; sisters, Hazel Boyarski of Panama City, and Margaret Creamer of Byrneville; grandchildren, Thomas and Jackson Moore of Byrneville, Justin Langhorne of Castorville, TX, and Jesse Langhorne of Clear Lake Oaks, CA, Darbi and Dabney Langhorne of McDavid; and great grandchilden, Nora and Natalie Langhorne of Castorville, TX.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at the Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 10 a.m. and will continue until service time at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mitch Herring and Rev. Benny Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in Beulah Chapel Cemetery in Byrnevile.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Moore, Dabney Langhorne, Rodney Grimes, Larry Stuckey, Will Stuckey and Jackson Moore.
