David Glenn Hardin

Mr. David Glenn Hardin, age 44 of Van Hoosen Road Flomaton, passed away suddenly Sunday, March 4, 2012, at his residence. He was a native and longtime resident of Brewton. Mr. Hardin attended W.S. Neal High School. He was an avid deer hunter, and was a millwright at T.R. Miller Mill Company for the past 14 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Ann Hardin (Brian) Gabel of Virginia Beach, VA; a granddaughter, Rylee Nicole Gabel; his fiancee, Amy Turk of Flomaton and her daughter, Paige Turk of Flomaton; stepbrothers William Pugh and Buddy Pugh, both of Flomaton; stepsister Susan Faddis of California; and two half-sisters. Rita Johnson of Brewton and Judy Crawford of Jay.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 9, 2012, from 6-9 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.

Hugh Lebron Ellington

Mr. Hugh Lebron Ellington, age 76 of Highway 31 North Brewton, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, in a Mobile hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Montgomery, a former resident of Jackson, AL, and a longtime resident of Brewton. Ellington was a member of the Brewton Church of Christ, a former member of the Air National Guard and was the owner/broadcaster of WKNU from 1979 to 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Crozier Ellington of Brewton; sons Joe Ellington of Brewton, Clay Pearce of Leroy, AL; daughter Wendy Bramlett of Tuscaloosa; brothers Eugene Ellington of Camden, AL, Robert Ellington of Brooklyn, AL, James Ellington of Clifton, VA; five grandsons, Joe Pate, Seymour Pate, Tanner Bramlett, Trey Pearce, Dusty Faith; and one granddaughter, Anna Pearce.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday afternoon March 17, 2012 at noon, at the Brewton Church of Christ with Minister Mike Williams and Minister Richard Rogers officiating with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Brewton Church of Christ Handicapped Facilities.

Minnie Ruth Dawe

Minnie Ruth Dawe, age 92 of Atmore., passed away Monday, March 5, 2012, in Atmore. She was a retired seamstress with Vanity Fair Mills. She was born in Escambia County (Ala.). to the late Jabe Cleveland and Minnie Wilson Myrick. She attended the Holiness church.

She was preceded in death by her son, Darryl Dawe and a grandson, Lance Dawe.

Mrs. Dawe is survived by one daughter, Beverly Daw and husband, Stoney; a daughter-in-law, Annette Dawe, all from Atmore; one sister, Evelyn Beasley of Jay; three grandchildren, Adam Dawe and wife, Candice of Atmore, Ethan Dawe and wife, Mirinda of Semmes, Ala. and Natalie Donaldson and husband, Steven of Atmore; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 9, 2012, at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Thomley officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, March 8, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, is in charge of all arrangements.

Steven McLaurin Hagen

Mr. Steven McLaurin Hagen, age 25 of Goodway, AL, passed away suddenly on March 2, 2012.

Mr. Hagen was a native of Pensacola and had spent his life in Flomaton except for the last two years when he made Goodway his home. Mr. Hagen worked as a floor and tile installer, was of the Holiness faith and attended the Goodway Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, W.H. Van Hoosen, Sr., J.L. Bondurant and James Reed and his grandmother, Exlou Reed.

Mr. Hagen is survived by his wife, Heather L. Hagen of Goodway, AL; his mother, Addie Glenda Hagen of Flomaton; his father, Michael Stevens Coker of Bay Minette; sons, Blake Nathaniel Hagen and D.J. Victor, both of Goodway; daughters, Kymberlee Victor and Emmalee Victor, both of Goodway; brother, Jeffery (Katina) Hagen of Poarch; sister, Heather Coker and grandmother, Dorothy Bondurant of Flomaton.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012, at the Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel from 6 until 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Knowles and Rev. Ernie Cawby officiating. Interment will follow in Traveler’s Rest Cemetery in Flomaton, AL.

Pallbearers will be Chris Van Hoosen, Jimmy Van Hoosen, Anthony Parker, Aaron Baxter, Patrick Carter and Jason Cofield.

Opal Falk

March 5, 2012

Opal Falk, 98, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at a Pensacola hospital.

Mrs. Falk was a native and resident of Walnut Hill  for most of her life, a homemaker and a member of Walnut Hill Baptist church.

She is survived by on son, Tommy Falk (Beverly) of Nokomis; two daughters, June Sharpless McCann (Roger) of Pensacola and Sharon Poulsen (Jerry) of Walnut Hill; . two brothers, Harold Pierce of Dothan and Burtram Pierce of Andalusia; sisters, Pluma Moore of River Falls, AL,  Earnestine Gunter also of River Falls and Lytress Allen from MS; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 2, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Walnut Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Bridges officiating. Burial followed at the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Roger McCann Jr., Michael McCann, Sean McCann, Christopher Poulsen and Jerry Poulsen.

Mary Louise Hall Freeman

Mrs. Mary Louise Hall Freeman, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at a Pensacola hospital.

Mrs. Freeman was a lifelong resident of Walnut Hill. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was survived by her husband Terry Freeman of Walnut Hill; son, Shaun Freeman of Walnut Hill; daughter, Christina Murphy (Willie) of Pensacola; three brothers , Charles Hall (Dorothy) of Biloxi, Joe Hall (Laurie) of Davisville, John Hall (Dixie) of Bay Springs.; and on grandchild, Lille Marie Murphy.

Funeral services  were held Wednesday , February 29, 2012, the Petty Eastside Chapel with Rev. Chip Barbas officiating. Burial followed at the Dry Springs Cemetery.

Maxine G. Jernigan

Mrs. Maxine G. Jernigan , 90, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at an out of town hospital.

Mrs. Jernigan was a former resident of Atmore and lived the past 27 years at Stanley Crossroads. Mrs. Jernigan was a member of Pineview Tabernacle Church.

Mrs. Jernigan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Jernigan, and a son Robert E. Jernigan.

She is survived by one son, Tim Jernigan (Nancy) of Stanley Crossroads; two grandchildren, Matthew Jernigan of Stanley Crossroads and Joshua Jernigan (Angela) of Flomaton; four great-grandchildren, Kaylyn and Braxton Jernigan, Noah Jernigan and Skye Kervin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be March 7, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore with Rev. Jason Lindsey officiating.

Graveside service and burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Wilson Annex Cemetery in Whistler, AL.

Visitation will be Wednesday March 7, 2012, at 9 a.m. until service time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Josh Jernigan, Matt Jernigan, Danny Hendricks, Howard Jordan, Nathan Lindsey and Wayne Lindsey.

William Ray “Babe” Bradley

Mr. William Ray “Babe” Bradley, age 67 of Tarra Lane in Brewton, passed way Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Monroe County Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Mr. Bradley was a life long resident of Conecuh County, AL, and was a retired Diesel Mechanic for Hornady & Pettis Trucking Co. He loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Bradley attended Glory Hill Holiness Church.

He is survived by four sons, William Benjamin (Pamela Weaver) Bradley of Range, Bobby (Debra) Bradley of Monroeville, Jason (Johanna) Bradley of Lenox, John Paul (Shantell) Bradley of Range; two daughters, Rita (Steve) Cooper of Castleberry, AL, and Theresa Nicholson of Bermuda, AL; four brothers, Jimmy Bradley of Lenox, AL, Ely Bradley of Brewton, David Earl Bradley of Flomaton, Riley Frank Bradley of Lenox, AL; two sisters, Winnie Mae Waller of Lenox, and Lillie Windblade of Oregon; 14 grandchildren, Brandon Cooper, Shellie Madden, Eric Bradley, Authur Bradley, Richard Barnett, Ryan Barnett, Mack Barnett, April Jones, Cheyenne Bradley, Olivia Bradley, Chris Bradley, Kaylnne Bradley, Johnny Richerson, and Trevor Bradley; and eight great-grandchildren; special companion, Dorothy Bradley of Mexia, AL; children’s mother, Gail Partin of Mexia, AL.

Funeral Services for Mr. William Ray “Babe” Bradley will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Rev. Frankie Bell and Rev. Stevie Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Glory Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Craver’s Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Henry Matthew (Matt) Bliley

March 5, 2012

Mr. Henry Matthew (Matt) Bliley, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2012, at a local hospital.

Mr. Bliley formerly resided in Pensacola but  called Flomaton, his home for the past 10 years. Mr. Bagwell was a member St. Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving 20 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus..

He was survived by  his wife, Margaret Bliley of Flomaton; three sons, Christopher Bliley of Richmond, VA, Joseph Bliley of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael Bliley of Charlotte, VA.; two stepdaughters, Angela Messa of Picayunne, MS, and Melissa Bawman of Pace; brother, Charles Bliley of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren ; two great grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the St. Roberts Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Gordon Milstead officiating. Burial  followed at the Flomaton Cemetery.
