William Franklin Frazier, Jr.

William Franklin Frazier, Jr., a former resident of Jay, went to be with the Lord on July 30th. He was preceded in death by his wife Argie M Frazier and son William (Bill) Quinn Frazier.

Survivors include a son Ken (Stephanie) Frazier; two daughters, Tonya (Kenneth) Oakes and Linda (Mason) Carden; two sisters, Bertha (Claude) Weaver and Mary Hicks; two brothers, Danny Earl Frazier and Willard Gene Frazier; six grandchildren, Colby and Kerri Frazier, Katie and Kendall Oakes and Justin and Monique Carden., a host of nieces and nephews that loved him like a father; stepmother Nell Frazier and a true friend, Lavon Boutwell.

Active pallbearers will be Justin Carden, Colby Frazier, Todd Watson, Derek Oakes, Bradley Oakes, and Joseph Frazier. Honorary pallbearers will be Lavon Boutwell, Jerry Hatfield, Larry Hawthorne, and Harold Oakes.

Pastors Mike Wetzel and Jim Lassiter will officiate the service. Visitation will be Tuesday night at Jay Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Cobbtown Holiness Church. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the caretakers for their dad at Baptist Manor and Covenant Hospice.

Zarpido C. Angeles

July 30, 2012

Zarpido C. Angeles, 65, a resident of Pensacola and formerly from Atmore, died peacefully at his home with his family by his side on July 24, 2012.

Family and friends knew him as Angel or Chico as some of his former co-workers would call him. Mr. Angeles served his country in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1974. He is a graduate of Faulkner State Community College and Troy University where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. Mr. Angeles worked for the Alabama Department of Corrections for 25 years and retired as a captain in 2002. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and loved to joke and pick on everyone he knew.

Mr. Angeles was born on May 6, 1942, in Lingayen, Pangasinan Philippines, to the late Felicisimo R. Angeles and Dorotea C. Angeles.

He is preceded in death by one brother. Florenio Angeles.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years Sheila (Debbie) Davis Angeles of Pensacola; one daughter, Angelica Angeles of Pensacola; three very special grandsons, Cruz, Alex and Drew; one brother, Rodolfo Angeles of the Philippines; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 31 from 10-11 a.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Parkway followed by Mass of Christian burial at Little Flower Catholic Church, 6495 Lillian Highway, Pensacola, with Father James Thoyalil presiding. Burial will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Ryan Bateman Rawlinson

Mr. Ryan Bateman Rawlinson, age 24 of Saraland, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Rawlinson was a native of Opelika and a resident of Saraland for 10 years, coming from Atmore. He was affiliated with Century United Methodist Church in Century and is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Patsy Rawlinson and Rosie Overstreet.

Mr. Rawlinson is survived by his father, Steven B. Rawlinson of Mobile; his mother, Sandra Diane Rawlinson (Steven Board) of Saraland; brothers, William Rawlinson of Kings Bay, GA, Sean Rawlinson and Steven Rawlinson of Saraland.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel from 6 -l 8 p.m.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Excel City Cemetery with Rev. Janet Lee officiating.

Nellie Joanna Green

Nellie Joanna Green, 93, of Pensacola went to be with her Lord Wednesday, July 25, 2012.

Mrs. Green was born in Laurel Hill, FL and resided in Pensacola for the past 53 years. She was a minister’s wife in the Assemblies of God and a member of Brownsville Assembly of God. Mrs. Green most recently attended Ashford Assembly of God and Pine Forest Assembly of God.

Preceding her in death is her husband of 56 years, Reverend George T. Green.

Survivors include her children, Wendell Green (Evelyn), Bobby Green (Shirley), Darlene Harden (Milton), Glenda Burleson (Billy), Rita Kornegay (Rex), Shirley Grant (Joel) and Mike Kilpatrick; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Pine Forest Assembly of God with Pastor Gene Hudson and Reverend Bobby Green officiating.

Burial will be in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

Roxanne M. Northcutt

Roxanne M. Northcutt was born on September 16, 1950, to Francis “Frank” and Eleanor Mclemore Mulholland in Pensacola and died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 in St.Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She graduated from Tate High School in 1966. She owned and operated Ferns Flowers and Gifts with her mother in Cantonment for several years. Then she was the administrative assistant to the eEngineering department of the West Florida Hospital. In 1990 she moved to Enid. On Feb 16th,1991, she married Leonard Northcutt. She was a very gifted decorator, a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, past board member of Oakwood Country Club , past president and active member of the Oakwood Womens Golf Association.

She is survived by her husband Leonard of the home; daughter, Chania Halfacre and husband,Don,of Pensacola, stepsons, Scott and wife ,Christy Northcutt of Enid, Clay Northcutt of Ponca City, Kenneth Northcutt of Enid, five grandchildren Nate, Lindy, Cole, Reid, Hanna ,her mother, Eleanor Mulholland of Pensacola, sister, Pam Kirchharr and husband John of Pensacola, brother Buckey Mulholland and wife Patsy of Ferriday, Louisana, three nephews, Kenny, Edward,and Chuck Mulholland, also of Ferriday, Louisana. She was preceded in death by her father. She Has two aunts and one uncle, Faye and Irvin Legitti and Christina Land.

The memorial service for Roxanne M. Northcutt , Enid, was held Thursday July 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Stephens, minister of Westminster Presbyterian Church , officiating. Private Burial will be held prior in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Betty Clements Hahn

Betty Clements Hahn of Cleveland, AR, went to be with the Lord on Monday July 23, 2012.

She was born in Dothan on October 18, 1945, to the late Idell Smith Clements and Samuel Otis Clements. Betty graduated from J.M. Tate High school in 1963 and went on to earn a degree in cosmetology. She married Gordon Michael ‘Mickey’ Hahn on February 2, 1968. They resided in the Cantonment area where Betty operated two successful salons before relocating to Sydney, AR in 1979. She continued to work in the field of cosmetology before retiring to keep books for Mickey’s business.

Betty’s greatest joy came in spending time with her family, “making memories” whether water-skiing on the lake, attending St. Louis Cardinals baseball games, or vacationing with the extended family as often as possible. She also enjoyed a love of reading, collecting family photographs, and watching her beloved hummingbirds.

She is preceded in death by her son, Dustin Shane Hahn, her parents, her father and mother-in-law, Charles and Mal Hahn, a sister-in-law, Diana Hahn and brother-in-law, Bill Hahn (Zenova).

A devoted wife, mother, and ‘Nana’, she is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Mickey, one son: Michael ‘Ty’ Hahn and wife, Kathy of Cleveland, AK, and four grandchildren: Cody Rankin, Brittni, Dusty, and Gabbi Hahn. She is also survived by a brother, Toney Clements (Diane) of Cantonment; sisters, Collie Goodwin (Ronnie) of Cantonment, and Sandra Lovins (Elvin) of Milton.

She also leaves behind many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Arkansas Hospice,2405 E. Parkway, Ste. 3 Russellville, AR 72802. A memorial service will be held at Farmhill United Methodist Church, Cantonment, Friday July 27th, 2012 at 11am.

Walter G. Bush

Walter G. Bush, 52, of Cantonment,, went to be with his mother and father on Saturday, July 21, 2012.

Walter was born October 17, 1959m in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and was a lifelong area resident of Pensacola. He was self-employed in the scrap industry. He was the heart of our family, the light of our lives and the laughter of our soul. He was a good husband, great father,and an amazing grandfather. He was a loving brother and devoted uncle. His laugh and love will be with us always.
He is preceded in death by his father George C. Bush Sr., his mother Adriana Bush and an uncle and an aunt.

He is survived by his wife, Cindee Bush; daughter, Marcie Maynard (Steve); grandchildren, Tyler Maynard, Madison McLean and Jaxon Maynard; brothers, George Bush (Sonnia) and Melvin Bush (Sonia): sisters, Caroline Bush and Adrienne Bush (Jesus); nephews, Ryan Bush, Evan Bush and Georgie Bush; nieces, Ashley Allen (Matt), Adriana Manjon and Maria Bush.

Pallbearers will be George Bush, Melvin Bush, Steve Maynard, Tyler Maynard, Norman Jackson, Ray Flowers, Ryan Bush and Fred Cornejo.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Evans, Darrell Robinson, Jake Nall, Pete Arnold, John Miller, Bryan Webb, John Fritz and Jesus Manjon.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2012m at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Reverend Norman Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens, Milton.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

Lou Boyd

July 23, 2012

Lou Boyd, age 84 of Cantonment, passed through the gates of heaven on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. She was born in Robertsdale, AL on Dec. 10, 1927. Lou graduated from Winter Haven High School and attended Southern College in Lakeland, FL.

Lou was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she faithfully served the Lord and loved every minute she was there. She had many talents but her greatest gift was that of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. “MawMaw” made all who loved her feel uniquely special.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents, W.D. and Betty Grubbs; a brother, Eugene Grubbs; and sisters, Frances Harmon and Lois Grace.

Lou is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Hubert “Gabby” Boyd; her sister, Gladys English; her children, Beth Taylor (Jimmy), Patsy Moye, Ronnie Boyd, Cindy Parker (Tim), and Randy Boyd; grandchildren, Jennifer Benz (Stephen), Jimmy Salter (Nicole), Scott Traynom, Beth Culberton White, Ashlee Weber (James), Kyle Parker, Katelyn Boyd and Karla Boyd; great grandchildren, Jackson Benz, Chase White, Brooks Salter, Molly Benz, Everett Salter, William Benz, Aiden Weber, Camryn Traynom, Melinda Lula Salter, and Mason Weber; numerous cousins,nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be noon Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Locke officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law and one great grandson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Inturnment will be in Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church Building for Life, 800 Nine Mile Rd, Pensacola, FL 32514.

James “Billy” Smith

July 23, 2012

Mr. James “Billy” Smith, 78, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012, in Monroeville.

Mr. Smith was a native of Bratt, a former resident of Davisville and a resident of Monroeville for the past four years. He was a member of Iron Workers Local #798 for 60 years and he attended the First Baptist Church of Bratt.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Jean Powell Smith.

Survivors include his son, Doug (Johnnie) Smith of Mexia, AL; one daughter, Gayle (Paul) Godwin of Bratt; three grandchildren, Shawn (Sara) Smith, Chad Smith and Matthew Godwin; and two great-grandchildren, Miles Smith and Lexy Smith.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Godwin Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Pickern officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Byrd, Billy Franklin, Thomas Qualls, Jack Odom, Lynn Powell and Justin Sawyer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Iron Workers.

Mollie Ball Stanton Pilgrim

July 23, 2012

Mollie Ball Stanton Pilgrim, age 89, was a native of North Hampton, England, a former resident of Flomaton and Mobile, and relocated after the death of husband, W.L. Pilgrim, six years ago, to live next door to her daughter in Jay. She departed this earth on Sunday, July 22, 2012, to live eternally with her Lord and Savior.

In heaven she will enjoy the company of the love of her life her, deceased husband, Henry Stanton and beloved daughter, Jackie Presley as well as many other friends and relatives.

Mollie is survived by her daughter, Janice (Sam) Davis and her son David Stanton; grandchildren Cindy (Kerry) Wallace, Tammie (Danny) Free, Teresa (Alan) Carnrike, W. H. “Billy” (Pam) Moye, Lauren Stanton and David Stanton, Jr.; and eight great-grandchildren who adored listening to Gran Mollie’s stories of life during the wartime in England.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from noon until 2 p.m. followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be David Stanton, Jr., Billy Moye, Henry “Jerry” Cassady, Jackson Free, Danny Free, Dillion Lambert and Dr. C. David Smith.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Ashley Diamond Burkett for all the love, pampering and care given to Gran-Gran this past year. We would also like to thank the staff at Jay Hospital along with Dr. Lance Raney and Dr. Jeffrey Kelley for their superb care. We would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. C. David Smith for all the extra special love and medical care the past few years. Mrs. Mollie truly felt blessed to have him as her physician and friend.
