Onelia Pugh Fredrickson

Onelia Pugh Fredrickson, 90, died peacefully on Saturday, September 1, 2012, in Pensacola. She was born in Molino on April 14, 1922, and lived most of her life in the Pensacola area, an active and vibrant member of her community. She retired from Monsanto in 1985 after nearly 30 years of service.
Onelia had many talents including painting, ceramics, flower-arranging and cooking. Her greatest talent was that of helping others, family and friends and even those she did not know personally. Her Christian faith was unwavering and unchanging; she was committed to the original doctrines of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has been a member of the Pensacola Restoration Branch for many years.
Onelia is survived by her four children: Warren Boughton, Sr., Tim Pasquarelli (Diane), Carmen Paroby and Henry Fredrickson (Cathy); eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Allene and Alton Gilmore, her brother McGlaun Pugh and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Walter and Margaret Pugh, brother, Thomas Walter “Pat” Pugh and sister Marguerite Medley.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Rose Lawn Funeral home in Gulf Breeze. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service hour. The service will be officiated by Onelia’s nephew, Elder Dale Gilmore, with assistance from Chaplain Dan Hamel. Interment will follow at Eastern Gate Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Homestead Village for caring gently for Onelia and to Hospice for the loving kindness shown to her in her last hours on this earth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue Pensacola, FL 32504.

Richard Howard Hathaway, Sr.

Richard Howard Hathaway, Sr., 55, passed away suddenly at this home on August 30, 2012. Rick was born on January 20, 1957, in Bartow, FL, to Howard “Red” Hathaway and Mary Ann Hathaway.
Rick was proceeded in death by his father, Howard “Red” Hathaway.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Hathaway; his mother, Mary Ann Hathaway; five children, Mike Hathaway, Rick Hathaway Jr., Lorra Hathaway, Colt Hathaway and Sabrina Smith; and six grandchildren.
Rick was a graduate of Tate High School Class of 1975 and was a Navy Veteran. He will be missed by his large family and friends.
A memorial service was held Monday, September 3, 2012, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Mark Torrez, pastor of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, officiating.
Margie Ard

Margie Ard left this life peacefully to receive her new body and crown on Thursday, August 30, 2012. She was born October 31, 1931, to Annie Mae and Clarence Luker, in Walnut Hill, where she lived and attended school. In 1950 she married her husband of 54 years, Osey E. Ard, and she was his pride-and-joy bride until he preceded her in death April 2005.
“Momma” lived the life of a queen, she said. She lived at home in her own home on weekends with her granddaughter, Jenny (Gerald) Wooten and with her daughter, Barbara/Bobbie (Gil) Richards during the week. She was pampered by her family like royalty! She often visited her daughter, Faye (Lance) Lee in Tallahassee spending COUNTLESS visits — and having the “the time of her life” with Aaron and Cassie! She was one loved lady, and we do mean LADY! After a massive stroke two years ago, she resided at Consulate Health Care on Airport Boulevard. She was affectionately known as “Granny” to the staff, nurses and CNAs there and was their “prized patient” – their SWEETEST patient ever! A special thanks to Phelicia, Jolene, Beth and Lisa for your years of care for her and for Hospice – I CANNOT express my gratefulness enough to Barbara, Kellie, the Chaplains and volunteers…you are all gifts from God! We thank you and bless you all in Jesus’ Name for a work well done.
Margie is survived by her daughters, Barbara Ard (Gil) Richards and Faye Ard (Lance) Lee and her “adopted” daughter, Susan (Terry) Bryan; grandchildren, Jennifer (Gerald) Wooten, Lynn (Scott) Mulholland, Julie (Corey) Floyd, Aaron (Sarena) Lee and Cassie Lee, soon to be Mrs. Michael Califano; great-grandchildren, Corbin Floyd, Kaylee Wooten, Brooklyn Floyd, Mason Mulholland, Cole Wooten and Jackson Mulholland. She is also survived by three her brothers, Wilbur (Carolyn) Luker, Don(Betsy) Luker, Wayne (Catherine) Luker and a host of special nieces, nephews, great-neices and great-nephews! She was a cut-up and so very loved — how we will all miss her humor.
Viewing services will be held Sunday, September 2nd, from 2-4pm at Faith Chapel South. A special “Going Home Service” will be held on Monday, September 3rd , at 10 am (visitation) and 11am service at First Pentecostal Church, at the intersection of “W” Street and Marcus Point Blvd. with Reverends Brian Kinsey and Paul H. Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gil Richards, Lance Lee, Aaron Lee, Gerald Wooten, Corey Floyd and Scott Mulholland.

Roy Vernon Gay, 81, of Cantonment passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012.
Mr. Gay was born in Hall Summit, LA, and resided in Pensacola area for the past 47 years. He was employed with McLean Trucking for 33 years. Roy serviced in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post 340.
Preceding Mr. Gay in death are his parents, Reverend Roy Leon Gay and Helen Thornhill Gay, and son, Kenneth Vernon Gay.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce Gay; son and daughter-in-law, Keith L. Gay and Missi Ewing Gay; grandson, Austin K. Gay; two sisters and their husbands, Maxine Hill (Grant) and Jeanette Rester (Kenneth); numerous sisters- in-law and brothers-in-law; as well as nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 6, 2012, from 11:30 till the service time of 12:30 p.m. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home
Interment with Military Honors will be in Barrancas National Cemetery.

Averette Maxwell “Buck” Wyse, Jr.

Mr. Averette Maxwell “Buck” Wyse, Jr., 83, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012, in Mocksville, NC.
He was born December 30, 1928, in Pensacola to the late Averette Maxwell Wyse, Sr. and Cora Beatrice Hart Wyse. Mr. Wyse was retired from Monsanto 750 Bldg.. with 30 years of service, and with 20 years of perfect attendance. He enjoyed his job working on the machines. Mr. Wyse was a veteran of the U.S. Army. While working at Monsanto, he also enjoyed his time working at the family businesses, Molino Service Center and Family Florist. He volunteered for 35 years with ESAR (Escambia Search and Rescue) as boat commander and was a volunteer firefighter with Molino Fire Department Station 18. Mr. Wyse had logged in over 60 years of volunteer service to his community. He was a member of the Pensacola Treasure Hunting Club.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marty Tharpe for being such a great friend and family member. Mr. Wyse enjoyed spending time hunting and mullet fishing with his best friend, Randy Powell. Most of all, he loved helping people and loved his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Lindsay Wyse; and a daughter, Holly Wyse Martire.
Survivors include a daughter, Malysa (Melissa) Wyse; a son, Dennis Wyse; three granddaughters, Danielle “Dani” Martire, Susan Wright and Alicia Bridwell (Derek); and a great-granddaughter, Lyndzi Wright.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, Hwy 29, Cantonment, with Brother Ed Cotton officiating. Interment will follow in Gonzalez United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cantonment, with military graveside rites conducted by the U.S. Army. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be considered for Molino Fire Dept., 1459 Molino Road, Molino, FL 32577.

James Hilton Morgan, 93, of Walnut Hill passed away Monday, August 27, 2012, in Dothan. He was born January 10, 1919 in Eufaula, Alabama to the late J.P. and Lorena Morgan.
He is survived by his wife, Ardiel Morgan; son, Donnie Baggett and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Kim B. (Ryan) Conner, Shannon (Kellie) Baggett; five great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
Services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the First Assembly of God church in Atmore with Bro. Doug Waters and Bro. Don Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in the Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Joyce Marie Russell, 78, of Walnut Hill, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 in Pensacola. She was born August 21, 1934 in Frisco City. She was of the protestant faith.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert J. Russell of Walnut Hill; three daughters, Deborah Russell (Mack) McLeod of Wacissa, FL; Robyn Russell Stuart of Pensacola and Rochelle Russell (Todd) Pfeiffer of Chatham, IL; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Cain officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Dewey Devon Spicer, age 80, of Century, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012, at Century Care Center.
Mr. Spicer was a native of Chumuckla and a former resident of Jay before going to Century. During his working years, Mr. Spicer worked as a farmworker. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Malcolm ‘Junior’ Spicer, Jr. and B.C. Spicer and nephew, Larry ‘PeeWee’ Spicer.
He is survived by his sisters, Shirley Thomas of Pensacola and Mary Ard of Chumuckla; nephews, Tom Spicer and Mike Spicer, both of Chumuckla and Johnny Ray Spicer of Century; and special niece and caregiver, Pat Spicer of Brewton.
A memorial service will be held for Mr. Spicer at a future date.

Darla Joy Landis, 12, of Atmore, entered into her eternal home on August 24, 2012, in Birmingham after succumbing to complications from surgeries to correct a life-long seizure disorder. Darla was born in Atmore on September 17, 1999.
She is survived by her parents David R. and Deborah A. Landis; sister, Diana M.; brothers, David R. Jr. and Darren M.; grandparents, Ray & Celia Landis of Souderton, PA; and David & Ruth Ann Kulp of Pottstown, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Grace Fellowship. Interment will follow in Freemanville Community Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, August 30, 2012, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Grace Fellowship.
Darla’s family is grateful for the love and concern shown towards Darla by their church and ministry families at Grace Fellowship and We Care Program as well as the entire Atmore community. She will be greatly missed.

Mr. Albert Gaynoe Creamer Jr., age 71 of Brewton, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 25, 2012, in Century after an extended illness.
Mr. Creamer was a native of Pensacola and a former resident of Houston before moving to Brewton in 2010. He was a retired truck driver in the transportation industry and was of the Holiness faith. Mr. Creamer was a United States Army and Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by one son, Albert G. Creamer, III of Atmore; two daughters, Patricia Marie Creamer of Jay and Gayna Ruth Creamer; four brothers, Raymond L. Creamer of Brewton, Jerry N. Creamer of Cypress Springs, Texas, Donnie R. Creamer of Magnolia, Texas and Jimmy Wayne Creamer of Brewton; two sisters, Frances Steele of Brewton and Voncile Weaver of Magnolia, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Craver’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.J. West officiating. Interment followed in Sardis Cemetery.
