Vistation will be Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Perlene Z. Simmons

Perlene Z. Simmons, 81, of Molino passed away Friday, March 8, 2013.
Mrs. Simmons, a native of Evergreen, AL, resided in the Pensacola area for 59 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Milestone and was retired from Monsanto with 38 years of service.
Preceding Mrs. Simmons in death are her parents, Claude and Cloie Zellers, brother, Ervin Zellers, niece, Annette Hawsey, and brother-in-law, David Hawsey.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Joseph Simmons; sister, Willie Dean Hawsey; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March12, 2013, from 12:30 p.m. till the service time of 2:30 p.m. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Ken Burleson officiating.
Burial will be in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Murley Daniel ‘Bubba’ Renfroe

Mr. Murley Daniel ‘Bubba’ Renfroe, age 60, of Flomaton, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Renfroe was a native of Brewton, but was a lifetime resident of Flomaton and was of the Baptist faith. During his working years, Mr. Renfroe worked for L&N Railroad that was later known as CSX. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Daniel and Katie Ruth Knowles Renfroe.
He is survived by his daughters, Becky (Darrell) Lambeth of Atmore and Rachael Meadows of Milton; sisters, Diana (Wayne) Stanton of Atmore and Teresa (Danny) White of Flomaton; grandchildren, Olivia Lambeth, Noah Meadows and Ava Meadows; nieces, Jennifer (Kevin) Lincoln, Caitlin White, Haley White, Lindsey White and great niece, Baleigh Lincoln.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Hogg and Rev. Patricia Bruner officiating.
Interment will follow in Flomaton Cemetery, Flomaton, AL.
John Dalton Holland, Jr.

John Dalton Holland, Jr., age 52, a resident of Milton, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013. He was born in Milton on July 27, 1960.
He is survived by his father, John D Holland Sr. (Nonie); mother Diane “Dee” Chavez (Adrian); children, Craig, Brent, and Sean; sisters, Geri Hoomes (Scott), Julie Almeida (Brad); brother Floyd Holland (Bonnie); uncle, Edsel Holland (Polly); nephew, Nicholas Almeida; and niece, Savannah Almeida.
Visitation for the immediate family will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m., March 9, 2013 at Jay Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Diamond of My Father’s Vineyard. Burial will follow at Walling Road Cemetery.
Pallbearers are family members and friends, Floyd Holland, Nicholas Almeida, Scott Hoomes, Craig Kendezerski, Ricky Sharp, and Brad Hatfield.
Honorary pallbearers are long time friends Danny Sasser and Dale Cobb.

Curtis Oneal Lindsey, 80, of Flomaton, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at a Pensacola hospital.
He was a native of Florala, and a longtime resident of the Flomaton community. He was retired from International Paper Mill after more than 40 years of service in the power house as an operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; four brothers and five sisters.
He is survived by his sister, Edith Pauline Morley of San Antonio, Texas; his brother, James C. (Dallas) Lindsey of Ocean Springs, Miss. and special friends, Cameron (Debra) Andrews of Jay.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home with Elder Richard Ash officiating.

Carolyn Harrell, 67, of Atmore, formerly of Pensacola, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, March 5, 2013.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Robert Harrell; children, Dorthy (Howard) West of Red Level, Kathryn (Chris) Byrd of Atmore, and Charles J. Carr, Jr. of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Sabrina (Adam) Cobb of Evergreen, Jonathan Wise of Atmore, Douglas West of Red Level, Lauren Carr, Chelsea Carr, and Cooper Ramos all of Pensacola, Justin Byrd of Atmore and Sami Carr of Clinton Township, MI; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Pastor Chad Griggs officiating.

Mr. Clyde Vincent Barbarow, 72, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, in Perdido.
Mr. Barbarow was a native of Bay Minette and a resident of Perdido for most of his life. He was a very loving husband and brother; he was a good son and loved his mother very much. His parents, William and Maude Barbarow; brother, Gene F. Barbarow and stepdaughter, Tammy Carpenter precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Barbarow of Perdido; two sons, David V. Barbarow and C. Daniel Barbarow, both of Oregon; three stepsons, Malcolm (Cheryl) Harrelson of Perdido, Michael (Shauna) Harrelson of Bratt and Robert (Betty) Flowers of Rabun; two stepdaughters, Debra Boatwright of Perdido and Susan (Ronnie) Paul of Perdido; one brother, Wayne (Sheryl) Barbarow of Perdido; and five sisters, Dorothy (Tommy) Abrams of Canoe, Patricia Novak of Tucson, AZ, Shirley Albritton of Atmore, Helen Tillery of Perdido and Diane (Stan) Marshall of Huxford.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Malcolm Harrelson officiating.

Charlie Huelsbeck

Charlie Huelsbeck of Cantonment, went to his eternal rest Saturday, March 2, 2013. Charlie was best known for the decades that he operated the service station at the corner of Muscogee Road and Highway 29 with his father, Mr. Pete Huelsbeck.
Charlie spent his last days surrounded by the loving family who survive him, his wife, Teresa Peak Huelsbeck; in-laws, Legic and Mary Parker; daughters, Katie Huelsbeck and husband Peter Wong, Jenny Huelsbeck Hicks and husband Brad; and stepsons, Chris and Cody Burkett. Before his passing Charlie also had the great joy of spending his days at home with his grandchildren, JP and Lila Claire Wong.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Pete and Jeanette Huelsbeck and his brother, Larry Wayne Huelsbeck. He will be buried with them in the family cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. at Faith Chapel North on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Casual attire is encouraged. Burial will follow at the Huelsbeck/St. Jude Thaddeus Cemetery in Cantonment.
Pallbearers will be Cleveland Swift, Robbie Dubus, Billy Burt, Jerry Lovett, Brandon Eckhoff, and Scott Coyle.
The family wishes to thank Covenant Hospice, Dr. Samer Al-Shurieki and all the caregivers of West Florida Hospital who cared so tenderly for Charlie during his battle with cancer.

Tommy Hiram McDonald, age 84, of Molino, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, March 3, 2013. He was born August 20, 1928, in Muscogee, FL. He was employed by St. Regis Paper Company where he served as plant superintendent. Mr. McDonald was a successful businessman, owning several local businesses, including McDonald Oil Company, McDonald Farmers Supply, and McDonald Tire Center. He was the livestock officer for the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department for several years and a member of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Posse.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of nearly 64 years, Vermel McDonald; son, Gary McDonald, Sr. of Molino; daughter, Felicia Shields and husband, Jeremy of Starks, LA; daughter, Karen Ward and husband, Steve of Molino; five grandchildren, Rhesa Robinson, Gary McDonald, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA, Hannah Shields and Tamara Shields of Starks, LA, and Emily Ward of Molino; three great-grandchildren, Haley Robinson, Haden Robinson, and Gavin McDonald of Baton Rouge, LA.
He loved God, his family, and his church, Atmore Apostolic Church, which he faithfully attended. Mr. McDonald enjoyed his horses, cattle, and farm. He never met a stranger and found the good in everyone. He was a practical joker and loved to make people laugh. He was a hardworking, loving, generous man that will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Faith Chapel North.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle, in Molino with Pastor Steve Ward and Rev. Jeremy Shields officiating. Interment will follow at United Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Molino.
Active pallbearers will be Tim Neihman, Louie Kemp, Raymond Stokes, Kenny Albritton, Gary McDonald, Jr., and Ben Robinson.

Betty Annette Flowers Merrill Norris

Betty Annette Flowers Merrill Norris, 74, of Atmore, passed away March 1, 2013, at her residence. She was born in Atmore to the late Gay and Grace Elizabeth White Flowers. After graduating as a valedictorian of her class at Escambia County High School, she attended the Sacred Heart School of Nursing. It was in Pensacola that she met and married her first husband, a Navy pilot. They had two children together. After several years of living the Navy life and living in various places in the U.S. and overseas (including Hawaii and Japan), she returned to Atmore in 1972. She worked for many years as a nurse for Dr. C. P. St. Amant and later at the Atmore Health Department.
She is preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Bobby Norris; brother, Charles Winston Flowers and sister, Joyce Flowers Nall.
She is survived by her daughter, Vonna Merrill Read of Collierville, TN; son, John Michael Merrill of Rio Rancho, NM; sister, Evelyn McKinley Pipkin and husband Jim; brother, Clayton Flowers and wife, Janice, all of Atmore; grandchildren, Ethan Merrill Read, Jordan Lynn Merrill, Grace Marie Read and Carrie Marie Merrill.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the Atmore First Assembly of God with Rev. Don Davis officiating. Burial was in Mothershed Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Chuck Flowers, Randy Mckinley, Jimmy Flowers, Scotty Flowers, Corey Flowers, and Hunter McKinley.
