Misty Way Rider, 32, of Lillian, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, after a brief illness. She was born on December 9, 1980 in Pensacola to Kenneth and Tracy Way. She was a 1999 graduate of Gulf Breeze High School. She was involved with Perdido Key Chamber and was employed by ECB Services.
She is survived by her husband, Bryan Scott Rider of Lillian; parents, Kenneth and Tracy Way of Milton; two brothers, Kenneth Way II and Christopher Way; maternal grandmother, Sue (Nanny) Sloan of Pensacola; paternal grandparents, Frank (Papa) and Martha (Nanny Michael) Way of McDavid; aunt and uncle, Robert and Paula Way; uncle, John Sloan; cousins, Heather and Robert Way II; father and mother-in-law, Don and Vicki Rider of Lillian; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her grandfather, Charles (Papa Chuck) Sloan.
Visitation for Misty is Friday, May 3, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel in Pensacola.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, at 12 p.m. at the Flora Bama in Pensacola.

Mr. George Dewey Long, 83, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013, in Christian Home. Mr. Long was a native of Perdido and has resided in Christian Home for most of his life. Mr. Long was retired from CSX Railroad after 44 years of service. He attended the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Long; daughter, Wanda Long; parents, Dewey & Mattie Lou Long; three sisters, Rosie Roberson, Modelle Bryars and Sarah Victor; and four brothers, Rev. J. T. Long, Tommy Long, Lewis Long and Wesley Long.
He is survived by one son, Michael Long of Christian Home; four grandchildren, Brandy Hoover of Creola, Jarrod Long of Byrneville, Brandon Long of Christian Home and Justin Long of Christian Home; and eight great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Tyler, Robbie, Gracie, Riley, Nicholas, Sarah and Emily.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. R.C. Wiggins, Rev. Alfred Long and Bro. Brandon Long officiating.
Burial will follow at the Christian Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 30, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jarrod Long, Brandon Long, Justin Long, Josh Long, Russell Hollingsworth and Tanner Headley.
Honorary pallbearers will be the great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Tyler, Robbie, Gracie, Riley, Nicholas, Sarah and Emily.

Lee Etta Lindsey Foss, age 69, of Munson, passed away on April 23, 2013. She enjoyed reading and taking pictures. Lee had a great sense of humor, enjoyed helping others, and loved her family. Lee was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Deitria Bullock; sister, Annette Butler; grandchildren, Randall Bullock, Rebecca Bullock, Chance Butler, and Chase Pittman; eight great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Daniel Pittman, Steve Butler Jr., Phil Henington, Terry (Bo) Watts, Jake Watts, and Logan Lindsey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Watts, Michael (BoBo) Lindsey, Munson Volunteer Fire Department, Santa Rosa County 911, and Life Guard Ambulance Service.

Mr. Michael Blue Watson, 40, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013 in Theodore, Alabama.
Mr. Watson was a native of Fort Lauderdale, former resident of Atmore and a resident of Theodore for the past 20 years. Mr. Watson attended the Sardis Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Mike Montana Watson and grandmother, Virginia Coleman.
Survivors include his mother, Sherry Lucas of Atmore; wife, Tracie Watson of Theodore; one son, Tryton Watson of Theodore; two daughters, Alexus Watson and Mercedes Watson, both of Theodore; half-brother, John Henry Watson of New York, NY; one sister, Michelle (Aubrey Gregg) Lucas of Atmore; half-sister, Angel Cruise of Atmore; one niece, Genesis Lucas of Atmore; step-mother, Betty Watson of Huxford and grandparents, George Sanspree of Cantonment and Betty (Bill) Weisner of Theodore.
Memorial services will be Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Walley officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Ida Ross Hall

Ida Ross Hall, 82, of Atmore, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born March 12, 1931, in Escambia Co. AL. Ida grew up in Escambia County, but during Gene’s active military service lived in Ft. Jackson, SC and Ft. Bragg, NC. They returned to Atmore and have lived there ever since. She retired as a bookkeeper from the Escambia County Junior High and Escambia County High School after approximately 15 years. She also worked for Atmore Community Hospital and Daniel Insurance Company. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, fishing, and spending time with her friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ardell Ross and infant daughter Kathy Jean Hall.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Hall; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and David Sommerman; grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Sommerman; brother, Jeff Ross, and many cousins nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 10 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Heard officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be her nephews, Devon Jones, James Hall, Hilbert Hall; great nephews, Eric Hall and Jeremy Hall, and cousin Patrick Godwin. Honorary pallbearers will be her other many nephews and great nephews.

Carra Taylor

Carra Taylor passed away peacefully Saturday, April 13, 2013, at home. She courageously fought cancer until her last remaining weeks with her loving family at her side, never losing her spirit or faith. Carra recently moved to St. George, UT, to be with her daughter and son-in-law.
Carra was born on October 15, 1929, in Century; beloved daughter of Cleveland and Bessie Pert. Carra married Roscoe McHenry (deceased) and they had three loving children. On December 15, 1972, she married her soul mate Charles Taylor (deceased).
Those left to treasure her many memories are her beloved daughter, Linda Schmal and son-in-law, George Schmal; son, Stephen Paul McHenry and wife Diane; sister Grace Mitchell and brother William Pert.
Carra was most proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren all living in Florida. She loved spending time with Marcus Berthiaume; Stephanie Gibbs, her husband Mathew and daughters Kyleigh and Hayden; Tanya McHenry and children Trace and Addison; Stephen Paul McHenry II.
Carra was kind, generous, and loving. Carra had a big heart and will be greatly missed, but the world is a better place from having her here for 83 years.

Micha R’Shea Scott, age 37, of Jay, passed away April 19, 2013, after an asthma attack. She was born August 7, 1975, in Brewton.
She was preceded in death by Mr. R D Scott , great-grandfather; Mr. R M Scott, grandfather; Mrs. Etha Mattie Scott , great grandmother; Mrs. Dorothy Lowell, grandmother; Mrs. Margaret Carden, grandmother; Mr. E J Adams, grandfather and Mr. Wayne Huey, grandfather.
She is survived by her son Mical Wayne Scott who was the love of her life. She is also survived by her parents, Michael and Patsy Scott; her sisters Kara Ritchie (Alan) and Ashley Buckley(Shane); nieces Allison Ritchie, nephews Truitt Ritchie, Aiden and Easton Buckley; as well as many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, April 23, 2013, at Jay Church of Christ with Bro. Stanley Ryan officiating and David Howze leading music. Burial will follow at Jay City Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 22, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Shane Buckley, Alan Ritchie, Adam Scott, Travis Smith, William Burgess and Ralph Hayes.

Norma Gean Kilpatrick, age 70, of Jay, passed away on April 17, 2013.
Gean was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Eugene Kilpatrick; father, Bernice Weekes; mother, Ella Ruth Weekes; two brothers, B.F. Weekes and Richard Eric Weekes Sr.; and one grandson, Mikie Edwards.
She is survived by her three children, Johnny Kilpatrick of Pace, Wendy Alumbaugh (Wayne) of Milton, and Tammy Castleberry of Jay; three sisters, Lou Jara (J.J.) of Pace, Ruth Carr of Milton, and Caffie Wilson (JR.) of Dixon, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Shay and Rebecca Kilpatrick, Ronald and Jake Castleberry, Raven Cole, Dixie Younge, Cameron, Devin, and Megan Alumbaugh; and seven great- grandchildren, Lily, Amberlin, Christian (Buba), Hunter, Kyndal, Lana, Jace, and one in waiting, Bryce.
Graveside services were held at Wallling Cemetery on Saturday, April 20.
Active pallbearers were Robert Wilson, Bart Wilson, Timothy Wilson, John Weekes, Michael Weekes, and Steven Padgett.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Rosewood Manor, and Covenant Hospice for all the care showed to our loved one and family during our time of need.

Donna Redmon Thompson, born April19, 1954, passed away April 15, 2013.
Remarkable and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend has ended her battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bradley, and her parents, Henry “Battle” and Lavada Redmon.
She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Larry; her son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Traci Thompson; three grandchildren, Chandler Ervin (Ben), Chase and Tradley; three sisters, Marilyn Brantley, Sharon Blanton and her twin, Debra Rigby, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, an aunt and uncle and her mother-in-law, Jeanette.
Donna was an active member of Scenic Hills Church of Christ where she spent many hours teaching bible classes and helping others.
She is the co-founder of the local Miracle League Ball Park where she and Larry made a dream come true for hundreds in our local special needs community. Donna worked as a secretary/operator of Professional Air for 35 years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Miracle League.
Pallbearers will be Eric Smith, Chris Pinney, Herb Smith, Jerry Caine, Josh Jennings and Vincent Andrys.
Funeral Service will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013,. at Gateway Church of Christ with Pastor Kyle Rye officiating. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Barry Alan Gross, 63 of Brewton, passed away April 18, 2013, in Brewton.
He was born October 7, 1949, in Bremerton, WA. He served in the United States Navy. He was a retired machinist with civil service. He is preceded in death by his parents Joe Russell and Myrtis Louise Bryan Gross and son Alan Gross.
He is survived by his sister, Myrna Gross Howell of Jay and his family and friends.
Private inurnment will follow in McCullough Cemetery.
