Lucile Reamer Whitegon

Lucile Reamer Whitegon, 91, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Although she was born in Topeka, Kansas, Molino was her home for almost 60 years. She was a member of the Molino Silver Agers and the Molino Homemakers. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, and crocheting and had won many ribbons at the Pensacola Fair.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Whitegon (1981) and daughter Patty Lee Whitegon (1976). Coming from a large family of 15 brothers and sisters, she is proceeded in death by Patsy Reamer, Geraldine Reamer, Robert Reamer, Harry Reamer, and Floyd Reamer.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby Whitegon (Patsy) and Jerry Whitegon (Jackie); four grandchildren, Kelly Howard, Bill Whitegon, Robert Whitegon and Jay Whitegon; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Bertha Regnier, Jean Hull, Beverly Watson, Charlotte Lamb, Donna Ethridge, Arlis Stevenson, Shirley Meyers, Betty Carroll; and brothers, Roy Reamer and Kenneth Reamer.
Special thanks to the employees at Arcadia Health and Rehab who brought a smile to all of us and made it feel like a second home to her.
Services were held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, June 13, 2015.
Carlos Clinton “Dusty” Rhodes

C. C. “Dusty” Rhodes passed away on June 12, 2015. He started his career with the Florida Highway Patrol in 1961 as a radio operator in Miami then became a state trooper serving in Tallahassee and Milton but mostly in Pensacola until he retired in 1986. He later served with Florida’s State Fire Marshall’s office as an arson investigator.
Since 1973, his favorite hobby was skeet shooting where he loved both the sport and the “skeet family” he met along the way. He was a member of the National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) and proudly represented Florida’s skeet shooters as one of NSSA’s National Directors. His skeet shooting accomplishments included winning state champion three times and being inducted into Florida’s Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Diane Etheredge Rhodes; brother, Ralph Rhodes; sisters-in-law, Sharon Leeds (Steve) and Patsy Manning; brothers-in-law, Charlie Etheredge (Terry); nephews, Dusty Rhodes (Gena), Jo Manning (Karin), and Vance Creighton (Fazana); nieces, Gayla Edwards (Rodney), Cherie Stone and Sheila Cox (Jeff); 17 great-nephews and nieces; five great-great nephews and one great-great niece.
The family extends gratitude to the memory care staff at the Broadview Assisted Living Facility and Emerald Coast Hospice for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on June 15, 2015, at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1394 E. Nine Mile Road in Pensacola. The celebration of life service will follow at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Dan Nigolian and Rev. Ted Bowne.
Burial will follow at the Gonzalez United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church where Dusty was a member (1394 E. Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32514).

James William Windham

James William Windham, 61 of Walnut Hill, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015, in Atmore. He was a welder for Alabama Heat Exchangers. He was born in Eustis, FL on February 17, 1954, to James L. and Barbara Bryant Windham. He attended Enon Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his father, James L. Windham.
Survivors are his wife, Mildred Huffmaster Windham; two sons, James Zachary (Bridgett) Windham and Matthew J. (Christiana) Windham all of Bay Springs, FL; one daughter, Melissa Martin of Central, FL; mother, Barbara Foss of Tavares, FL; one brother, Cody Windham (Kelly) of Tavares, two sisters, Toni (Mike) Cates of Tavares and Becky (John) Dorinsh of Charleston, SC; eight grandchildren, Abigail, Camilla, Tara, Max, Matt, Wyatt, Arri, Johnny; and one great-grandchild, Carlee.
Services will be Saturday, June 13, 2015, at noon from the Enon Baptist Church in Enon with Bro. Alan Thompson officiating.
Interment will follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Zach Windham, Matt Windham, Steve Andrews, Michael Spivey,C.J. Siminson and Ricky Singleton.
Family will receive friends, Saturday June 13, 2015, at the Enon Baptist Church from 10:30 a.m. until service time at noon.

William A. Hunter, Sr.

William A. Hunter, Sr., 48, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015. He was born and raised in Cantonment. Tat was a standout athlete and graduated from Tate High School in 1985. He went on to attend FSU where he played basketball from 1985-1989 and graduated with his Bachelors degree in criminal justice. After college he traveled with the C.B.A and W.B.L. playing basketball.
Tat spent the last 10 years working at the G.E.Wind Turbine Plant. He loved his job and the many friends he meet while working there.
He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Hunter, Sr.; and his two brothers, Ellis Riley and Edward Cheatum.
Tat leaves behind to cherish his memories his children, Ashley (Brian) Floyd, William A. Hunter, Jr., Dayquan Hunter, and Jaiden Hunter; his mother, Stella (Johnnie) Sanders; three granddaughters, Jayla and Jordyn Floyd and Amiya Hunter; two brothers, John L. Hunter, Jr. and Freddy Clark; and three sisters, Myrna Wiggins, Sabrina Hunter, and Chandra Cheatum.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Deliverance Tabernacle with Pastor Charles Thomas, officiating. Burial will follow in Greater White Lillie Baptist Church Cemetery.

Melvin Perry Johnson

Melvin Perry Johnson passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 5, 2015. He was born February 20, 1933, the son of Perry and Bertha Johnson of Jay.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey Johnson and his parents Perry and Bertha Johnson.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 58 years, Emily Johnson; four children, Ray (Susan) Johnson, David (Debbie) Johnson, Jeff (Chris) Johnson and Jennifer (Chuck) Mooney. He also had nine grandchildren; Jared, Joshua, Stephanie, David II, Brittany, Jonathan, Candace, Amanda, Grace and one step-grandson Chad. He had 17 great-grandchildren and a special niece Melissa. He is also survived by one brother, Michael (Darlene) Johnson; and sister-in-law, Margie Johnson.
Melvin was a devoted servant of God for 50 years and served in various ministries including Sunday School Superintendant, deacon, prison ministry, and men’s ministry. His passions were accompanying the music team with his guitar and teaching Sunday School. Melvin cherished the times of hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved mullet fishing in the bays and tight-line fishing in the rivers with his children and friends. He was also a devoted family man and loved spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the Beulah Chapel Assembly of God with Rev. Jim Lassiter, Rev. Eric Bryan and Rev. Shelton Kindig officiating.
Burial was at the Beulah Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jared Johnson, Joshua Johnson, David (Bo) Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Gary Johnson.

Terry Glen Harverson

Mr. Terry Glen Harverson, 56, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, in Pensacola.
Mr. Harverson was a native of Pascagoula, MS, former resident of Grand Bay, AL and a resident of Walnut Hill since 1995. He was of the Holiness faith.
His father, Ellis L. Harverson; and brother, Eddie Ray Harverson, precede him in death.
He is survived by his mother, Irene Harverson of Walnut Hill; brother, Louis Charles Green of Escatawpa, MS; and sister, Linda Ann Walters of Laurel, MS.
Graveside services will be Thursday, June 11, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Pine Rest Cemetery in Foley with Rev. Mike Grindle officiating.

Donald Rudolph Schofield

Donald Rudolph Schofield, of Pensacola, went to be with his Lord at the age of 67, on June 6, 2015, during a beautiful, peaceful Sunday sunrise. He led an extraordinarily productive life as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, corporate real estate professional, builder, entrepreneur and friend; and touched many lives with his generosity and humble spirit. He was born in Gaskin, FL to Ben and Annie Ruth Schofield and completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of West Florida in 1970. He was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He loved his work—spending 39 years with Gulf Power and building a local real estate business with his most beloved friend and confidante, Richard Ward. He brought great intelligence and humor to all that he did, and selflessly gave back all that he reaped to his family, church and community.
He leaves his loving wife of nearly 47 years, Joan; two admiring daughters, Sandra and Amanda and their husbands, Gordon and Alex; five adoring grandchildren, Zeke, Griffin, Fletcher, Lucy and Harvey; five wonderful brothers, Clifford, David, Richard, Daniel, and Fred; several nieces and nephews, and many dearly loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery; and three brothers, Horace, Willard, and Lester.
Don was a rock of virtue and a hardworking, loving force for good. He had a great life, and we will miss him more than words can say.
The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015, at Faith Chapel North with Pastors Jerald Manley and Jody Wolf officiating.
Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Gaskin Cemetery in Gaskin, FL.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Faith Chapel North.

Susan “Sue” Owen Garris, age 65, of Pensacola, went to her eternal home in heaven June 5, 2015. She was a member of Marcus Pointe Baptist Church.
Sue is survived by her husband and best friend of nearly 30 years, Jerry Garris; three children, Thomas F. Owen, Lynda (Kevin) Bradley, Dannell (Kevin) Jeffers; step-daughters, Tammy (John) Oreskovic and Leslie Smith; grandchildren, Steven, Corey, Kayla, Rylee, and Brooke; great-grandbabies, Ella, Jaelyn, and Tucker; two sisters and one brother; and best friend, Nancy Patrick.

Catherine Louise Holt, 93, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015. She was born in Uriah, AL to Caleb and Jessie Etheridge Turk, on November 12, 1921. She was retired from Western Union, as a telegraph operator.
Mrs. Holt spent most of her life in Mobile and Daphne and has been a resident of DeFuniak Springs for the past ten years. She was a member of Southwide Baptist Church.
She is survived by her siblings, Louquin Hendrix of Carrier MS, Rebecca Chavers and Rose Mulinax of Mobile; Jo Ann Cooke of Atlanta, GA and Billy Turk of Panama City, FL.
She is preceded in death by siblings, Sarah Senterfitt ,Charles and Mabry Turk, Irene Massingill and Doris McGahagin.
Graveside services will be held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Uriah on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. with her brother, Billy Turk officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Southwide Baptist Church DeFuniak Springs, FL or Polar Springs Baptist Church in Uriah, AL.

John Douglas Oswalt, 35, of Bartlett, TN passed away on May 4, 2015.
He is survived by his fiancée, Shawna Michelle Moore, parents, John Robert Oswalt and Carol Oswalt, sister Missy Davenport, brother-in-law, Ricky Davenport, niece, Cassidy Davenport, nephew, Mason Davenport and grandparents, Robert W. Oswalt and Marie E. Oswalt. Mr. Oswalt is now with Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.
The family would like everyone to attend his Celebration of Life service on Saturday, June 13 at 10 a.m. at Bellevue Baptist Church, 2000 Appling Rd. Cordova, TN. The burial will follow at Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Rd. After the burial the family invites everyone back to Bellevue Baptist Church for a reception.
