Linda Joiner Jordan

November 23, 2015

Linda Joiner Jordan, 72 of Bluff Springs, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015, due to complications of COPD. Linda was born and raised in Chumuckla. She was the ninth child of the late Willie and Gladys Joiner. She graduated from Chumuckla High School and worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company for 10 years. Linda was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bluff Springs.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Earl “Fred” Jordan; parents; brothers, George, Harold, Maxi and Joe; and sisters, Opal and Dula.

She is survived by her sons, Noah Dale (Jenny) Asberry and Earl Frank (Katherine) Jordan; granddaughter, Janelle Gamble; great-grandchildren, Jakob and Michelle; brothers, Jack (Kathy) and Otis (Marie); sister, Dottie (Wayne); and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Summer, Tara, Shere and Pam of Covenant Hospice for their wonderful care.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. James Hughes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice or a charity of your choice.

Sherlon Annette Thompson

Sherlon Annette Thompson, 65 of Pensacola, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her father, C.W. Thompson.

Sherlon is survived by her mother, Dorothy Thompson; brother, Claywell (Brenda) Thompson; sisters, Debbie Klaus and Julie McQuigg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Dr. Ted Traylor officiating.

Interment will follow in Almarante Cemetery in Laurel Hill.

Annie Sue Landrum Daniel

Mrs. Annie Sue Landrum Daniel, 81, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015, in Lafayette, Alabama.

Mrs. Daniel was a native of Monroe County, AL and a resident of Nokomis, AL for most of her life. Mrs. Daniel was a member of the Nokomis Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Daniel; and son, Charles Edward Daniel.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Chris Wallace of Jacksons Gap, AL; six grandchildren, Cpt. Ben E. Daniel of Fort Lee, VA, Patrick Wallace of Charlottesville, VA, Mitchell Wallace of Durham, NC, Jessica D. Allen of Bay Minette, Rebecca Daniel of Perdido and Derrick Daniel of Auburn; five great-grandchildren; and a first cousin, Therman Mills of Prattville.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 20, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. James Hill officiating.

Burial will follow at the Serenity Gardens Cemetery.

Lonnie Frank Sanders

November 17, 2015

Mr. Lonnie Frank Sanders, 77, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015, in Robertsdale.

Mr. Sanders was a native and former resident of Atmore and has resided in Roberstdale for the past 12 years. Mr. Sanders was an employee of Van Pelt Dairy for 40 years and he was of the Baptist faith. He was a caregiver for his parents and preceded in death by them, Leon and Mercy Sanders; two brothers, Clarence and Roy Sanders; and three sisters, Velma Hendrix, Luverne Jones and Barbara Wood.

He is survived by his niece-daughter, Cathy Jones Morrow of Robertsdale; four great nephews who were like sons, Curtis Jones, Kenneth Jones, Colten Jones and Josh Perez all of Robertsdale; and one sister, Elbia Wood of Berrydale, FL.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 19, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Peebles officiating.

Burial will follow at the Moyeville Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. until service time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Glenn Mardis Falkner

November 17, 2015

Glenn Mardis Falkner, 75 of Milton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 16, 2015. He was born in Leeds, AL on September 8, 1940. He was a retired auto transporter and an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ethel Falkner; his sister, Vernajean Falkner; and his son, Matthew Falkner.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Rebecca Hennington; daughters, Myra (Billy) Stevens of Clarksville, TN, Vicky (Ron) Geary of Cantonment, and Tracy (Jason) Bonifay of Cantonment; grandchildren, Amanda, Don, Jr., Michael, Christopher (Amanda), Morgan (Lake), Sarah, Colby, and Joe; and great-grandchildren, Starr, Richard and Aidan.

His daughters want to express a sincere thank you to all for the thoughts and prayers for their family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Bro. Bill Flannigan officiating.

Burial will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Teresa “Diane” Edmonson

Teresa “Diane” Edmonson of Molino passed away on November 11, 2015, at her home surrounded by family. Diane was born in Century, on October 28,1950. She was a retired housekeeper from Cross Creek Nursing Home. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Wilson Allen and Virgina “Estelle” Allen; her brothers, Raymond “Ray” Wilson Allen and Wayne Curtis Allen; and son, Joiel “JJ” Wilson Edmonson.

Diane is survived by sons, Jerry Nellums (Anita), and John Nellums (Elsie); grandchildren, Kristina Nellums, Daniel Nellums, Daniel Hiatt, Cody Nellums, Gyanna Edmonson, Torrie Edmonson, and Harley Edmonson; great-granchild, Mason Hiatt; brothers, James Robert Allen and Donald “Don” Allen; sisters, Mary Macks, Martha Sullivan, Dothery “Dot” Barrett, and Emma Clark.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 16, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Faith Chapel North Funeral Home.

Judy Annette McDonald

Judy Annette McDonald was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Judy was born February 26, 1949, to W.T. (Bud) Shehan and the late Betty Jean McDonald. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, the late Cecil and Elizabeth (Bessie) McDonald. Judy is preceded in death by one very special uncle, Billy McDonald and her twin sons, Christopher and Chandler Petty.

Judy is survived by her daughter and best friend, Lynn Petty McGhee and daughter by heart, Necole Rolin; one extra special grandson, Malcolm Troy McGhee, Jr. (TJ) and granddaughter by heart, Laura Marie Sells; two great-grandsons by heart, Keaton Lee Sells and Brylynn Lane Smedley. She is also survived by one sister, Rebecca Shehan Rolin (Doug) and one sister by heart, Ginger Troutman Caraway (Terry). Judy is survived by special niece and nephew, Teresa and Wayne Garrettson; and special great-nephew, Josiah Carter; very special friends, June, Jodie and Woodie. She also leaves behind her most precious puppy girl, Trudi J McDonald and the newest addition to our family, Sissy Pup. Judy will always be remembered for the exceptional mother, grandmother and friend she was. She will most certainly be missed. She loved and was loved by so many, too numerous to name, but each and every one of you know who you are. God bless you all.

Gerald Wayne “Doc” Dawson

Gerald Wayne “Doc” Dawson, 74, left this world on November 3, 2015, to live with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born in Escambia County, AL and grew up in Barnett Crossroads. He attended schools in Barnett Crossroads and Brewton.

He was employed at Monsanto Co. and retired with after 35 years of service.

Doc loved God and his family very much. He loved all kinds of sports; especially hunting and fishing at Ft. Morgan. He also loved Alabama football and Bear Bryant and Nick Saban. He played sports with the Monsanto Teams.

Doc was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Clara Dawson; son, Joey Dawson; stepdaughter, Debbie Clark; and brother, Bill Dawson.

Doc leaves behind his wife of 27 ½ years, Esther Dawson; son, Darin Dawson; daughter, Stephanie (Mike) McClendon; stepson, Greg (Dawn) Clark; mother of his children, Mary Dawson; grandsons, Troy Dawson, Brett Williams, Tres’ Dawson, Brendan McClendon, Mike Clark; three granddaughters, Kerry Watts, Tracy (Mike) Lolley and Holly Campbell; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 12 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home with Alston Cornelius officiating.

Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery in Seminole, AL.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. prior to services.

Peter Hubert Miller

November 11, 2015

Peter Hubert Miller, 65, of Atmore, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015, in Mobile. He worked in quality control for many years. He was born in Garmisch, Germany on August 14, 1950, to the late Hubert and Mary Louise Genoble Miller. He served in the USMC during Vietnam. He was a member of Perdido Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Donald Miller.

Survivors include one son, Tom (Nichole) Miller of Zeeland, MI; one daughter, Emily (James) Huizenga of Dorr, MI; three step-daughters, Faith Baumann of Tallahassee, Debbie (Randy) McKinley of Atmore and Lisa (Alan) Gunn of Eight Mile; one sister, Ursula (Russ) Mylenbusch of Crestview; three grandchildren, Kaelyn, Dylan, and Mason; eight step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at 11 a.m. from the Perdido Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Klotz officiating.

Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Family will receive friends, Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at the Perdido Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until service time.

Willie “Rex” Goodson

November 11, 2015

Willie “Rex” Goodson, age 89 of Jay,was welcomed home on Wednesday, November 4, 2015.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Goodson and Cora Lee (David) Noles; wife of 55 years, Leota (Peggy) Goodson; his son, Willie “Steve” Goodson and brother, Leon Goodson.

Rex Goodson was a beloved father, grandfather and brother. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Larry Rex Goodson (Dawn); grandson, Logan Rex Goodson; brothers, Ivon “Sonny” Goodson (Eloise) and Adon Goodson; and many nieces and nephews.

Rex was born December 30, 1925, in Enterprise, Alabama. He was a true southern gentleman who loved his family, friends and faith. He raised his two sons in Jay where he was the Chairman of Deacons with Cora Baptist Church. He retired from Monsanto/Solutia.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 13, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Cora Baptist Church, followed by his burial at Cora Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be the Deacons of Cora Baptist Church, Merlin Edwards, Roger Dobson, Frank Rowell, Leon Jackson, Mickey Diamond, and Jerry McGee.

The music will be provided by pianist, Susanna Dobson.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Emerald Coast Hospice.
