Stephen Allen Joiner

Stephen Allen Joiner, age 74, went to his heavenly home Saturday, September 30, 2017.

In the late 1960’s, Stephen served in the Air Force Reserves. His career was with CSX from where he retired after 33 years as a conductor. He was a member of the West Florida Lodge #210, enjoyed tending to his garden and loved riding around the neighborhood in his John Deere Gator.

Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, Minnie Foster Joiner and Oscar Joiner and his sister, Ethel Joiner Williams.

He is survived by his loving wife, Myra Ann Page Joiner; daughters, Stephanie Joiner Tenney and Heather Joiner Bryson; son-in-law, Buddy Tenney; granddaughters, Madison and Carlie Tenney; sister, Ellen Joiner Wilson and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at Dry Springs Cemetery in Walnut Hill, FL.

Pallbearers were Rick Brown, Tracy Williams, Tanner Williams, Buddy Tenney, Victor Comacho and Trey Gregory.

Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Ging, Paul Page, Bill Page, Allen Lee and Jerry Whatley.

In lieu of flowers donation can be made to West Florida Covenant Hospice Care.

Andrew Len Gibson

Mr. Andrew Len Gibson, 61, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, in Pace, Florida.

Mr. Gibson was a native of Pensacola, Florida and had resided in Pace, Florida since 1990. Mr. Gibson was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. When he married Mrs. Terryle he took on her whole family, and helped raise her grandchildren. He put his life on hold for her entire family. He was a wonderful man! They babysat their great-grandchildren as their grandchildren went through college and graduated. The children have stood by their mothers’ side during this difficult time. He was employed with Jack Matchett Construction for 27 years, and at Ellis Environmental with his brothers Clay and Joe for many years. He was a member of the Gospel Light Church.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Frances Gibson; father, Otis Gibson; and two sisters, Kathleen Anise Gibson and Jenell Farnsworth Gibson.

He is survived by his wife, Terryle Gibson of Pace, FL; three sons, Clayton Andrew Gibson of Indianapolis, IN, Alexander Hale Gibson of Indianapolis, IN and Gary Sanders of Pace, FL; two daughters, Terra Sanders of Cantonment, FL and Brookelen Gibson of Pace, FL; two brothers, Otis Clayton (Susan) Gibson of Walnut Hill, FL and Joseph David (Judy) Gibson of Pace, FL; one sister, Sandra Faye Drake of Bowling Green, KY; six grandchildren, Tia (Kenny) Frye, Toriee Nielsen, Christian Nielsen, Grant Colich, Lucy Gibson and Lilah Gibson; and three great-grandchildren, Syler Frye, Elaina Frye and Nicholas Nielsen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Gospel Light Church with Rev. Marty Gehman officiating.

Burial will follow at the Springhill Methodist Cemetery in Lennox, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Gibson, Joseph Gibson, Joey Gibson, Kenny Frye, Alexander Gibson and Clayton A. Gibson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Gibson, Ricky Gibson, Donald Gibson, Tony Gibson and Jerry Gibson.

Martha G. Cleary

October 4, 2017

Martha G. Cleary, 91, passed away on October 3, 2017. She was born in Metter, GA to Enoch William Garvin and Lonie Johnson Garvin. She met and married Rufus William Cleary in 1945, after his return from WWII as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. They lived in Savannah, GA until moving to Pensacola, FL in 1956. She retired as a bookkeeper.

Martha was a long-time member of East Brent Baptist Church and a member of the Faith Sunday School Class.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother.

Martha is survived by her two children, William R. (JoAnn) Cleary and Wanda (Doug) Mann; three grandchildren, David (Rebecca) Cleary, Jennifer (Greg) McGilton and Steven (Amanda) Mann; brothers, Jack (Marjorie) Garvin of Vidalia, GA and Glynn (Kat) Garvin of Twin City, GA; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South.

Burial will follow in Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. prior to services.

Winston B. Day

October 1, 2017

Winston B. Day, 87, of Cantonment, FL, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017. He was born on April 15, 1930, in Huxford, AL, to the late Bernard and Vera Day. He attended McCullough High School and graduated in 1948. Winston served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953 and received the Bronze Star. After serving in the United States Army, Winston worked at Monsanto and retired in 1985.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Eddis; son, Donnell Day; grandson, Nicholas Stimmell; parents; two brothers, Joel and Raymond Day; and son-in-law, Jay Pierce.

Winston was a devoted and loving father to Marilyn (Michael) Stimmell, Sandra Melton (Greg Werhan), Janet Day and Rhonda Lott; four grandsons, that he loved dearly, Clint (Alyssa) Riggan, Brandon (Jami) Melton, Nathanael Stimmell and Zach (Kala) Stimmell; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter and Hailey Riggan and Caisi Melton.

Visitation will be held on Thursday October 5, 2017, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, AL.

William Joseph Philyaw

October 1, 2017

William Joseph Philyaw, 69 of Atmore, AL, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017, in Fairhope, AL. He was a laborer with lumber. He was born on July 5, 1948, in Flomaton, AL to the late Joe Junior and Louise Odom Philyaw.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Tommy Philyaw and Joe Edward Philyaw.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Joyce Foster Philyaw of Atmore, AL; four daughters, Kimberly Mosley, Pamela (Richard Wainwright, Jr) Philyaw, Cindy (Michael) Lawson, Teresa (Jody Henderson) Hayles, and Mary (Kevin) Corbin all of Georgia; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held Friday, September 29, 2017, at Grace Fellowship Church, with Bro. Gene King and Bro. Glenn Weber officiating.

Interment was in Stapleton Cemetery.

Dewey H. Janes

October 1, 2017

Dewey H. Janes 79 of Atmore, AL, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, in Atmore, AL. He was a maintenance mechanic for Chemstrand/Monsanto. He was born on May 28, 1938, to the late Ernest and Florence Smith Janes. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deborah Janes; sisters, Addie B. Johnson, Lois Harris, Eunice Musgrove and Jewel Monie.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Margaret Jefferies Janes of Atmore, AL; two sons, Brian Keith (Tracy) Janes of Millbrook, AL and Jerry (Danna) Janes of Atmore, AL; brother-in-law, Joseph Jefferies of Atmore, AL; grandchildren, Marina Janes, Carson Janes, Anna Grace Janes and Jamison Janes; step-grandchildren, Shawn Williams and Savannah Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held Saturday, September 30, 2017, from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Jones officiating.

Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Lillian Hadley

Mrs. Lillian Hadley, 74, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017, in Perdido, Alabama.

Mrs. Hadley was a native of Uriah, AL and had resided in Perdido, AL for the past 49 years. She was retired from Vanity Fair with 40 years of service and was of the Holiness Faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Brooks; and two sons, Timmy and Myron.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Travis Hadley of Perdido, AL; four sons, Travis Dywayne (Rita Darlene) Hadley of Perdido, AL, Christopher Nolin Hadley of Perdido, AL, Lonnel (Michelle Lynn) Hadley of Perdido, AL and Kenneth Bankster of Stapleton, AL; one daughter, Vanessa Porter of Mobile, AL; one brother, Harold Brooks of Bay Minette, AL; two sisters, Mary Hadley of Fairhope, AL and Tina Stringfellow of Mississippi and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sister Helen Stewart officiating.

Burial will follow at the Hadley-Brooks Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 10 a.m. until service time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Herbert Hoover Hall

Herbert Hoover Hall, 89, of Walnut Hill, FL, passed way Thursday, September 21, 2017, in Atmore, AL. He was Owner of Hall’s Store. He was born on August 12, 1928, in Oak Grove, FL to the late James Cliffton and Burlie Buchannon Hall. He attended Presley Street Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy Janelle Hall; and six brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Jim C. (Kathy) Hall of Jackson, AL and Tim H. Hall of Seminole, AL; one daughter, Janet (David) Womack of Atmore, AL; four grandchildren, Jace (Natasha) Hall, Lana (Michael) Nelson, Shelly (Ryan) Lambert and Morgan Womack; three great-grandchildren, Ember, Samuel and Arriana.

Services were held Sunday, September 24, 2017, at 2 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Boyd officiating.

Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Maria Luise Maucher

Maria Luise Maucher, age 86, of Cantonment, FL was called home Thursday, September 21, 2017.

She was born March 27, 1931 in Zuckmantel, Romania to her parents, Michael and Maria Haydl. She and her family fled as refugees from Romania to Austria towards the end of WWII. In 1955 she came to live in America. In November of 1960 she married Helmut Maucher. They were happily married for 56 years. Maria loved to knit and cook. She especially loved baking cookies. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and the best mother to her three boys. Maria believed in God as her Lord and Savior.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Helmut Maucher; children, Paul Maucher, Michael Maucher, and Martin Maucher; grandchildren, Russel Maucher, Nathan Maucher, Stacey Maucher, Christine Marlow and Randy Maucher and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place Monday, September 25, 2017, at Faith Chapel North from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Faith Chapel North at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Christopher Glen Jenkins

September 23, 2017

Christopher Glen Jenkins, age 39, of Pensacola, was called home Thursday, September 21, 2017, with his family at his side.

He was born March 13, 1978, in Monroeville, AL to Harley Glen and Diana Jenkins. Chris will be remembered for his dedication to his family, and an undying affinity for Notre Dame Football. He was a proud member of the Showband of the South, and a graduate of Tate High School, Class of ‘96 and PJC. Chris was known as a talented salesman for Bob Tyler Toyota and had a passion for NASCAR and wrestling.

He is survived by his cherished wife Nina; children David Crosby, Evan Crosby and baby girl Juliana Jenkins; his parents; a sister Cindy (Jason) Wine; grandmother Bernice Jenkins, of South Bend, IN; nephew Charlie Wine, niece Kara Wine; and a host of close friends and colleagues.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 01, 2017, from 1:00PM until the Memorial Service begins at 2:00PM, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.
