Gloria Annette Sanspree

Mrs. Gloria Annette Sanspree, age 81, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at her home in Atmore, Alabama.
Mrs. Sanspree was a native of Mobile, AL; former resident of Choctow Beach, FL and had resided in Atmore, AL for the past 49 years. Mrs. Sanspree was a military wife serving many duty stations as she traveled around the country supporting her husband. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the West End Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Horry Daniel Sanspree; her mother and father, Ed and Gladys Brunson; grandson, LCpl. Travis Nelson USMC; son-in-law Scott Nelson; a great-granddaughter, Jenifer Elliott; and a sister, Bonnie Smith.
She is survived by her three daughters, Marty Sanspree of Atmore, AL, Debra Sanspree Fight of Atmore, AL, and Beckie Sanspree Nelson of Atmore, AL; two grandsons, Danny Elliott and Jason Elliott; one granddaughter, Anna Nelson; three great-grandchildren Michael, Jacob and Julius; and three nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Mitch Herring officiating.
Burial was at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Danny Elliott, Michael Ward, William Lovelace and Ronnie Stryker.

Warren Hart

Warren “David” Hart, 85, of Cantonment, FL, passed away on July 3, 2020. David was called home to Heaven after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
David was born in Quincy, FL, to Alger and Emmie Hart on November 4, 1934. He was to married Roberta for 68 years. She was the love of his life.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Alger and Emmie Hart; his son, David Jr, and his daughter, Barbara Ann.
He is survived by his youngest son, Daniel Hart (Betty Ann); his granddaughter, Rebecka Grice (Jacob); his great-grandchildren, Jackson Grice (Courtney) and Alyssa (Corbyn); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Faith Chapel North on Monday, July 13, 2020, with Pastor Keith Mott officiating.
Though David will be missed by many friends and family alike, this is not truly goodbye, we will see him again.

Kenneth “Kenny Ray” Jordan, 67, of Atmore, AL, passed away on July 6, 2020. He was born on July 27, 1952, in Atmore, AL, to the late Franklin Buddy Jordan and Ella Ruth Stacey. He owned and operated Kenny’s Glass Company.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Shelby Jordan; and one son, Scotty Jordan.
He is survived by one son, Casey (Jennifer) Jordan of Atmore, AL; one daughter, Brandy Short of OR; one sister, Nancy (Tim) Jernigan of Barnett Crossroads, AL; three brothers Tommy (Betty) Jordan of Nokomis, AL, Howard (Jean) Jordan of Atmore, AL and Donald Jordan of Tallassee, AL; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service were held Monday, July 13, 2020, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Pastor Alton Lister officiating.
Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Gary Smith, Cody Sanspree, D.J. Jordan, Bubba Jordan, Ridge Jordan and Bobby Ealum.
Honorary pallbearers were Matt Jernigan and Brandon Wiggins.

John Wayne Henderson, Sr., age 77, of Flomaton, AL, passed away suddenly on July 11, 2020 in Milton, FL.
Wayne was born in Flomaton to John Wesley and Katie Lee Henderson on January 27, 1943. Wayne lived in the Byrneville, FL, and Flomaton, AL communities for most of his life. He was the oldest son of nine siblings. He loved construction, and he owned his own business later in life and during his career worked on many memorable projects throughout the years from the Hancock Building in Chicago to the Cochran Africa Town Bridge in Mobile, AL. He is preceded in death by his wife, Renee Henderson; his parents; his beloved son-in-law, Delton Boswell; sisters, Geraldine Davis, and Katherine Brown; brothers-in-law, Willie Lee Davis, Jim Brown, and Ralph Hayes, Sr.; sister-in-law, Marie Henderson.
He is survived by his children, Tammy Boswell of Cantonment, FL, John (Peggy) Henderson of Jay, FL, Monica Henderson of Franklin, TN, Patty (David) Smith of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren, Wes (Kendall) Henderson of Ballston Spa, NY, Jacob Boswell of Cantonment, FL, Kendal Smith and Macie Smith of Smyrna, TN; great-grandchildren, J.W. and Colt Henderson, Brantley and Maggie Boswell; mother of his children, Pat Henderson; siblings, Glenda Hayes of Jay, FL, Mike (Cheryl) Henderson of Mobile, AL, Gayle Sheppard of Theodore, AL, Kenny Henderson of Mobile, AL, Joyce Grissett of Irvington, AL, Donald (Kristine) of Mobile, AL; uncles, Bill (Maria) Henderson and Jack Lee as well as a host of friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 8 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel at 11 A.M. with Brandon Rowell officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery, Goodway, AL.

Mrs. June Darlene Lee, age 67, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020, in a Pensacola hospital.
Mrs. Lee was born in Frost Proof, Florida and had been a longtime resident of the Brewton and Flomaton areas. She enjoyed sewing and attending church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jerry Lee; her parents, Millard Houston Lambeth and Betty June Long Lambeth; her brother, Kenny Lambeth; and her son, Clayton Lamar Lee.
She is survived by a son, Jeremy Lee of Brewton, AL; a brother, Ricky (Jodie) Lambeth of Flomaton, AL; and a sister, Charlotte Renee Smith of Brewton, AL.
Graveside funeral services were held at Lambeth Cemetery on Saturday, July 11, 2020, with Bro. Chuck Scrivener, Jr., Bro. J.J. West, and Bro. Donnis Bowman officiating.
Pallbearers were Andy Boutwell, Keith Holt, Brian Williamson, Randy Bagwell, Joseph Bagwell, and Kevin Knowles.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Allen Smith Holiness Church, or Lambeth Community Cemetery.

Brian Linden Joy, 61, of Atmore, AL, passed away on July 2, 2020, at his residence. He was born on January 28, 1959, in Rochester, NH to Stanley G. Joy and the late Dorothy Styron. He was a friend to many and would do anything to help those he called friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Godwin Joy and his mother, Dorothy Styron Bowden.
Survivors include his father, Stanley G. Joy of Silverhill; brother, Steven Joy of Atmore; two daughters, Rebecca McKinley of Albany, GA and Stefanie Kockx of Woodbridge, VA; and grandchildren, Parker, and Ally.
A graveside memorial service was held Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.

Sarah Gibbs Beyette

Sarah Gibbs Beyette, 83, of Atmore, AL, passed away on July 2, 2020. She was born on January 29, 1937, in Atmore, AL to the late Ardie D. Gibbs and Georgia Sarah Prestwood. She was an accountant for many years at Waller, Crook and Jones until her retirement and thereafter with Jerry Davis Farms. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Atmore.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ralph Gibbs and Larry Gibbs.
She is survived by one daughter, Cara Roxanne Beyette of Foley, AL; three sisters, Gloria Lovell of NC, Clara (Tommy) Burton of OR and Connie Ford of VA; and one grandson Christopher D. Beyette of VA.
A memorial service was held Friday, July 10, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Atmore with Rev. Arnold Hendrix and Bro. Kevin Garrett officiating.

Frank Ronald Stryker

Frank Ronald Stryker – “Lightnin” “Paw Paw” – passed away on June 30, 2020, at the age of 87. He was born April 29,1933, in Lutheranville, NY to Fred and Esther Stryker. The family lived in several places in NY and NJ. His favorite memories were living on a farm in upper state NY where he played baseball and football in Worcester, NY, Schenevus, NY, and in Cooperstown, NY in 1951 and was in the parade. He was very proud of that accomplishment. After graduation, he joined the Navy and was stationed at Great Lakes, IL, and Norman, OK. Paw Paw was proud of his boxing days in the Navy. His last deployment was at Whiting Field, Milton, where he met and married Virginia Mathis. They had three children, Randy, Ronnie and Susie. In 1976, he married Mary Bunch. He retired as an Aircraft Electrician Forman at NARF and served as the secretary for the Pensacola Bass Club. He enjoyed telling fish stories and remembered each and every fishing partner.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randy; two brothers, and one sister.
Dad is survived by his wife, Mary; his son, Ronnie; daughter, Susie, daughter-in-law, Lorene; step-son, Dave (Michele); step-daughter, Cheryl, ten grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Kelley (Walt), Katie, Cody (Amy), Jake, Ben, and Isaac; as well as six great-grandchildren, Christian, Brooke, Summer, Caislynn, Ryker, and Bo.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 6, 2020, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Clear Springs Cemetery, Robertsdale, AL.

Mrs. Alicia Celene Brown, 62, of Atmore, AL passed away July 1, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born in Mobile, AL on February 19, 1958. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ervie Sellers Bray.
She is survived by her children, Daniel Keith Griffith (Donna) of Huxford, AL, Shawn Edward Brown of Atmore, AL and Robby Edward (Jessica) Brown of Poarch, AL and Shaina Megan Brown of Atmore, AL; five grandchildren, Alexandria Brown, Reha Hall, Jaselyn Brown, Fonzie Price and Kara Brown; one sister ,Gina (Steve) Harrison of Atmore, AL; and one special niece, Heather (Chris) Hughes of Atmore, AL; and one special cousin, Vickie Carrier.
Graveside Services were held Monday, July 6, 2020, at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Atmore, AL with Bro. Michael Roley officiating.

Mrs. Bobbie Barlow Jones, age 84, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at her home in Atmore, Alabama.
Mrs. Jones was a native of Pineville, FL and had resided in the Atmore area for most of her life. She was a retired bookkeeper with 25 years service and was a member and director of WMU with Presley Street Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert Jones; parents, Taylor and Lena Barlow; three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 4, 2020, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Joseph Simpson officiating.
Burial was at the Pinebarren Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cole Graves, Mason Graves, Eddie Mitchell, Randy Lucas, Billy Young and Taylor Young.
