Century Election: What You Need To Know To Vote Today

Here’s what you need to know to vote in today’s Primary Election in Century:
- Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- The only precinct is located at the Century Town Hall. Only registered voters that reside within the town limits of Century are eligible to vote.
- You must present photo and signature identification. Acceptable forms of identification are: Florida Driver’s License, Florida ID card issued by the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, U.S. Passport, Debit/Credit Card, Military ID, Student ID, Retirement Center ID, Neighborhood Association ID, and Public Assistance ID. If you fail to present proper identification at the polls, you must vote a provisional ballot.
- You are not required to present your voter identification card in order to vote.
- To vote on a paper ballot, completely darken the oval to the left of the your choice.
- There is at least one touchscreen machine available. While primarily intended for persons will disabilities, any voter may choose to vote on the touchscreen. It has an audio ballot feature.
- You may vote if you are still in line at 7:00 p.m.
- You have the right to ask for assistance in voting.
- You can receive up to two replacement ballots if you make a mistake.
- If your registration or identity is questions, you have the right to cast a provisional ballot.
- You have the right to written instructions on how to vote, and, upon request, oral instructions by elections officers or any other person.

Accomplished Pianist In Concert Tonight In Oak Grove
October 3, 2010
Oak Grove Baptist Church will host accomplished pianist Jackie Beck in concert this evening.
Beck served as pianist for Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola for several years. She has also played for several citywide revivals in Pensacola and countless church services in Florida, Alabama and Georgia.
Beck will be in concert at 6 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church on North Highway 99. The public is invited.
Cheerleaders Holding Car Wash, Cookie Sale Today

Need a car wash? And a cookie?
The Northview High School cheerleaders are holding a car wash and a cookie sale today from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Advance Auto Parts in Atmore. All proceeds will help the Chiefs Cheerleaders attend competition.
Advance Auto Parts is located on South Main Street, just north of the Alabama/Florida state line.

Traffic Watch: Problems Getting To Ernest Ward Middle Today

Traffic is being delayed by road construction on Highway 97 today at Ernest Ward Middle School.
Drivers should allow about 15 minutes extra time. Or, drivers headed to the school should approach from Highway 99A off North Highway 99 (coming from behind the gym) to avoid delays.
Only Northview, Vernon Undefeated In District 1-A
October 1, 2010
Only three teams remained undefeated in District 1-A football four weeks into the 2010 season — including the Northview Chiefs.
The Chiefs are 2-0 in the district, while Vernon is 3-0. Freeport and South Walton have each lost one game.
The Chiefs (3-0, 2-0) will travel to Baker (1-3, 1-2) next Friday night in a District 1-A game. Vernon (4-0, 3-0) will be at Freeport (2-1, 2-0) in matchup of undefeateds in District 1-A — meaning one of the two teams will have their first district loss Friday night.
