Beulah Fest Continues Today

Beulah Fest will continue today at the Escambia County Equestrian Center with headliner acts  Joe Diffie, Sammy Kershaw, and John Michael Montgomery.
The festival features not only great music, but plenty of fun, rides, and of course those delicious sausages. The 25th annual Beulahfest attracts thousands each year, with proceeds benefiting the Beulah Volunteer Fire Department and other local charities.

The event takes place at the Escambia County Equestrian Center, 7750 Mobile Highway. For more info: 944-3167, or visit www.beulahfest.com. Tickets are $12 each, with free admission for children 8 and under.

Meet With Congressman Jeff Miller In Century This Morning

U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller will host a “Coffee with the Congressman” in Century this morning

The event will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the Agricultural Building on West Highway 4 in Century. All constituents are invited to come by with questions and comments about pending legislation, federal issues, or just to meet their Congressman.

Area Blood Drives Planned, Including Today In McDavid

Several blood drives are scheduled for this month in the North Escambia area, including today in McDavid.

The Northwest Florida Blood Services Bloodmobile will be at the McDavid Mini Mart at Highway 29 and Highway 164 from 1-6 p.m.

Another blood drive is planned for Sunday in Molino. The Bloodmobile will be at Aldersgate UMC from 8-11 a.m. and at Highland Baptist from noon until 3 p.m.

And, the Bloodmobile will be in Walnut Hill for a blood drive at the Walnut Hill Fire Department from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday March 31.

Little League Opening Days Planned

Opening Day events are planned for ballparks in Walnut Hill and Molino.

Northwest Escambia Little League Opening Day will be this Saturday, March 19. Opening ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. There will be activities for the kids and adults all day; the concession stand will also be open beginning at 9 a.m.. Junior and Senior League (ages 13-16) can also register before 10 a.m. A complete game scheduled is below.

Molino Recreation Association’s Opening Day will  be next Saturday, March 26. Events begin at 9 a.m. and continue all day with food, food, games and lots of ball action.

The Poarch Creek Education Department will host a combination Career and College Fair this evening.

The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 5-8 p.m. in the Poarch Creek Tribal Courtroom in Building 300.
