Church To Present Wild Game Dinner, Fish Fry

Highland Baptist Church in Molino will host a Wild Game Dinner and Fish Fry next Saturday.
Guest speaker will be Rep. Doug Broxson from the Florida House of Representatives, and there will be special music from Heaven Bound Gospel. The menu will include wild pig and venison dishes, fried fish with all the fixings, coffee and ice tea. There will also be a door prize.
The event takes place Saturday, February 23 with doors opening at 5 p.m., serving at 5:30 in the church fellowship hall of Highland Baptist Church, 6240 North Highway 95A in Molino. Flood Warning For Escambia River Extended Until Thursday

The flood warning for the Escambia River near Century has been extended until Thursday morning.
Saturday morning, the stage was 18.0 feet. Minor flooding was occurring and forecast to continue. Flood stage is 17 feet. The river will continue to rise to 18.2 feet on Tuesday morning. The Escambia River will continue to fall below flood stage early Thursday morning. Some flooding of the lowlands in the area will continue until the river level drops below 13 feet.

Teams Needed For Saturday Coed Softball Tourney

Teams are still needed for a coed softball tournament in Walnut Hill this Saturday. The tournament is sponsored by the Northview High School Diamond Club.
The coed tournament will be held Saturday at the Northwest Escambia ballpark. The entry fee has been reduced to $200 per team. Three females must play at all times.

Rain Washes Out Pine Forest Softball – Again

Mother Nature continued to wreak havoc in the Pine Forest varsity softball team’s schedule Wednesday as the rain forced the Lady Eagles to cancel their home game against Catholic.
Pine Forest also was scheduled to play Gulf Breeze on Tuesday but had to cancel because of the bad weather.
The Lady Eagles, who now will face Catholic at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 27, return to action Friday at home against Washington in their District 1-6A opener. The JV game will start at 4:30 p.m., while first pitch for the varsity game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Northview, Pine Forest Softball Games Postponed

Northview and Pine Forest high school softball games were rescheduled Tuesday due to rainy weather.
Northview
The Northview Lady Chiefs were scheduled to open their varsity season Tuesday at home against Catholic. That game has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday in Bratt.
The varsity and junior varsity Lady Chiefs will hit the road for their next three games — Friday, February 15 at Chipley; Thursday, February 21 at Baker; and Friday, February 22 at Holmes County. The next home game for the Northview Lady Chiefs will be Monday, February 25 as they host Escambia Academy in Bratt.
Pine Forest
The Pine Forest softball team’s game against Gulf Breeze, scheduled for Tuesday night at PFHS, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 20, at Pine Forest. The JV will play the Dolphins at 4:30 p.m., while the varsity is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Eagles’ varsity team returns to action Wednesday night (February 13) at home against Catholic. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Flood Warning For Escambia River

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a flood warning for the Escambia River near Century until further notice.
At 11 9.m. Tuesday, the river stage was at 15.63 feet; flood stage is 17 feet. No flooding is currently occurring. However, the river is expected to rise above flood stage Wednesday and could rise to 18.67 feet by early Friday morning.
The forecast currently calls for minor flooding in low lying areas and pastures along the river. No residential or transportation infrastructure impacts are expected at this time.
