Back To School Sales Tax Holiday Continues

Florida’s 2015 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday will continue until midnight Sunday.

No Florida sales tax will be collected on sales of clothing, footwear, and certain accessories with a selling price of $100 or less per item, on certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item, and on the first $750 of the sales price for computers and certain computer-related accessories when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.

Ready For Some Aggie Football?

The high school football regular season is just around the corner, but tonight there’s an early chance to get a look at the Tate Aggies.

The Aggies will have an open scrimmage tonight beginning at 7:00 at Pete Gindl Stadium. The freshmen will play in the first quarter, the junior varsity in the second quarter, and the varsity will play the second half.

The Aggies Kickoff Classic game will be August 21 at 7:30 at Tate against Pensacola High School

Tate Showband Spirit Night Tonight At Sonic

There will be half price cheeseburgers and a chance to help to the Tate High School Showband of the South tonight.

It’s Spirit Night from 5-8 p.m. at the Sonic Drive-In in Ensley (in front of Wal-mart). A percentage of all  sales go to directly to the Tate band.

FWC Hunter Safety Internet Completion Course Tonight In Molino

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is offering a free hunter safety Internet-completion course tonight in Escambia County.

The Escambia County course will take place at the Molino Community Center, 6450 Hwy. 95A from 6 to 10 p.m.

The range portion for the course will be August 29 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Santa Rosa Shooting Center at 6950 Quintette Road, Pace.

Students must complete the Internet course before coming to class and bring a copy of the final report from the online portion of the course. The final report form does not have to be notarized.

An adult must accompany children under the age of 16 at all times. Students should bring a pencil and paper with them to take notes.

Anyone born on or after June 1, 1975, must pass an approved hunter safety course and have a hunting license to hunt alone (unsupervised). The FWC course satisfies hunter-safety training requirements for all other states and Canadian provinces.

Traffic Note: First Day Of School In Escambia, AL

Today is the first day of school for the Escambia County (AL) school system, and that means buses will be back on the road.

Drivers are also encouraged to use extra caution in school zones.

Local law enforcement agencies say they will be on the lookout for those violating speed restrictions in school zones.
