State Offices To Close At Noon Today
September 1, 2016
Gov. Rick Scott has ordered state offices in 51 counties to close at noon today, including those in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, due to Tropical Storm Hermine.
All Escambia and Santa Rosa county offices and schools are open as usual Thursday and Friday. The First Judicial Circuit has announced that courthouses will be open and all matters will be handled as scheduled.
Other than rip currents and high surf at the coast, Hermine is expected to have little impact in Escambia or Santa Rosa counties. Click here for the latest update on the storm.
All Escambia and Santa Rosa county offices and schools are open as usual.

Open House, Chromebook Info Lab Tonight At Ernest Ward Middle

Ernest Ward Middle School will hold an Open House at 6:00 tonight.
Prior to the open house, from 5-6 p.m., and open computer lab will be available in Room 118 for parents to complete the process of registration for student Chromebooks. Parents must view a short video and complete the registration document.

Eyes remain upon the tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico today, but it appears more and more likely that it will have little or no impact on the local area. It is now forecast to remain east of Northwest Florida. The latest information is in the graphic above.
County To Spray For Mosquitoes This Evening In Gonzalez

Escambia County’s Mosquito Control Division will perform a “fogging mission” this evening in the Gonzalez area. This “mission” was originally planned for Tuesday but was rescheduled.
Mission hours vary but typically occur in the evening hours from 6-9:30 p.m. The area to be sprayed (click map above to enlarge) is generally bordered by Muscogee Road to the north, Highway 29 to the west, Kingsfield Road to the south and Chemstrand Road to the east.
