Barrineau Park Elementary School Reunion Set For Saturday
July 13, 2016
A Barrineau Park Elementary School reunion will be held at the old school on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and shareable drinks for lunch, which will begin at noon. There will be live music. Anyone that plays an instrument is invited to being it, and everyone can join in the singing.
The Barrineau Park Historical Society’s museum will be open for a stroll down memory lane.

Prison Inmate Escapes From Work Release Program

A prison inmate escaped from the Atmore Work Release program about 7:30 this morning, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
Authorities are searching for 37-year old Javarus Ridgeway. He was serving a 20-year sentence for a 1998 robbery conviction in Mobile County.
Ridgeway is described as a black male about five-feet, six-inches tall, 156 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing his state issued white shirt and pants.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call their local law enforcement agency or 911.

Escambia School District Support Services Job Fair Today

The Escambia County School District is partnering with CareerSource ESCAROSA to hold a Support Services Job Fair today until 1:00 p.m. in the J.E. Hall Center in Room 160.
Departments represented will include: Food Services, Maintenance Service, Custodial Services, Instructional Technology (IT), and Exceptional Student Education. The Transportation Department will also be represented for those interested in discussing a new career as a bus driver or for diesel mechanics.
Positions available are both full-time and part-time and can be anywhere in Escambia County.
Those offered positions will go through a background check (fingerprinting) and a drug test. All full-time positions also require passing a tobacco/nicotine screening. Those interested should bring copies of their resume and be prepared to meet possible future employers.
CareerSource ESCAROSA staff members will also be on hand to help interested parties find assistance with career hunting steps (ex. Access to help with resumes and interview skills as well as help with the finances involved in applying for positions, such as the cost of fingerprints or a specific license). So, if you have questions about job hunting, bring them with you as well.
The Escambia County School District is the second largest employer in the county.
