Fall Festival Today In Century

The Century Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Fall & Craft Festival & Car Show Saturday at Showalter Park.
The event will feature craft booths, family fun, food, a car show and entertainment featuring Grace Terry at 10 a.m., Ricky Crook and The Horseshoe Halo Band at noon and Michael Peterson at 2:30 p.m.
The festival begins at 9 am and goes on until 4 pm.

Northview Homecoming Today: What You Need To Know
October 14, 2016
Today is homecoming at Northview High School with a parade, lunch, the naming of class maids and homecoming queen, and football against the Jay Royals. And a road closure.
The parade will line up on the campus of Bratt Elementary School beginning at noon Friday. The parade will begin at Bratt Elementary at 1 p.m. and end with a pep rally in the school gym at Northview High. (The general public should not enter the Bratt Elementary campus.)
North Highway 99 from Bratt Elementary to Highway 4, and Highway 4 from North Highway 99 to Pine Barren Road, will be closed during the parade.
A homecoming meal will available Friday from 10 a.m. until from the football concession stand to support the Tommy Weaver Scholarship Fund. The $7 meal will include a BBQ pulled pork sandwich, chips, cookies and drink. To reserve lunch, call (850) 327-6681 ext. 248 or tickets are available in the Northview front office. Checks should be made payable to the NHS FFA Alumni.
Friday night homecoming festivities will begin at 6:00 Friday with presentation of the class maids and queen, with game kickoff set for 7 p.m. The class floats will be presented at halftime, and homecoming week winners will be announced.

Mike Pence To Campaign In Pensacola On Friday
October 13, 2016
Republican vice-presidential candidate Mike Pence will make an appearance Friday in Pensacola before heading to Miami and Tampa. Pence’s trip will follow a four-city campaign swing in Florida by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, as the GOP ticket tries to rally support in the critical state.
Pence is scheduled to take part in a rally at 2 p.m. Friday at the Palafox Wharf in Pensacola. Gates will open at noon. Two tickets per mobile number may be requested by clicking here. Tickets and entry are on a first come, first serve basis.
Trump campaigned Tuesday night in Panama City Beach, Wednesday in Ocala and Lakeland, and is scheduled to appear Thursday in West Palm Beach.The Republican nominee has made two previous appearances in Pensacola.
Northview Names Homecoming Court; Plans Parade And Friday Meal

Northview High School has named their homecoming court, and there are several big events planned for homecoming.
Homecoming court members are: freshmen Briana White, Payton Jackson, Teriana Redmond; sophomores Ashtyn Carnley, Madison Sherouse, Shelby Bashore, Olivia Seals; juniors Natasha Walker, Celeste North, Madison White; and seniors Peighton Dortch, Autumn Albritton, Brittany McLemore, Mallory Gibson, Morgan Myrick and Zipporah Harris.

Northview To Host Dig Pink Volleyball Today For Breast Cancer Research

Northview volleyball will host a Dig Pink Tournament beginning at 4:00 this afternoon along with Flomaton, W.S. Neal and Escambia County High (Atmore).
The tournament will be a two court set up with junior varsity and varsity participating.
All proceeds from the gate will go to the Side-Out Foundation for cancer research. Northview is also selling shirts for the event and all those proceeds will also be donated to the Side-Out Foundation. The schools will also host a hospitality room for survivors, referees, and coaches. Survivors present at the game will get in free and receive a special treat from the volleyball players.
The Side-Out Foundation funds breast cancer research and support with “cutting-edge clinical trials at renowned medical institutions. . . which has extended the lives of people with Stage 4 breast cancer.” In addition to cancer research, the Side-Out Foundation also provides support services for cancer patients and their families.

Fields of Faith: Student Led Community Worship Wednesday At Northview

Northview High School’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host their 3rd annual Fields of Faith at Northview High School on October 12, at 6:30 p.m. on the football field. Speakers will include Zach Barrow, Lauren McCall, and Seth Leonard. Free admission. Everyone is welcome.
The Northview High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is sponsoring a student led worship event, “Fields of Faith” Wednesday night at Tommy Weaver Memorial Stadium in Bratt.
Northview students, area churches, youth groups and community members will come together to worship, hear student testimonies and enjoy a brief message from speakers that include Zach Barrow, Lauren McCall, and Seth Leonard.
The public is encouraged to attend the event at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Free admission.
