Northview Quarterback Club Meets Tonight, Seeks Members

The Northview High School Quarterback Club meets tonight at 6:30 in the school gym meeting room. The Chiefs Kickoff Classic at home is August 17 against Vernon, and the regular season will open at Lighthouse Christian on August 24. The Quarterback Club is looking for members and volunteers to work toward successful season.
Shower And Thunderstorm Coverage Increases
July 16, 2018
Sunday afternoon storms brought heavy rainfall, downed a few trees and led to scattered power outages in the North Escambia area.
One Pinedale Lane off West Roberts Road, a pine tree brought down power lines, leaving 17 homes without power (pictured below). One Pineville Road west of Walnut Hill, power lines were downed. The storms also brought thousands of lightning strikes, like the Molino strike captured in the photo above. (Click here for the lightning video.)

Mosquito Fogging Tonight Around Pine Forest, Kingsfield, 95A, I-10 In District 5

Escambia County Mosquito Control Division will proceed with fogging missions today in commission District 5. Mission hours vary, but typically occur in the evening hours from 6-9:30 p.m.
When possible, pre-application and post-application surveillance is performed to ensure fogging is warranted. Methods used to determine need include dry ice-baited light traps, landing rate counts and service requests received from the public.
The spray areas are between Pine Forest Road and I-10, and between Nine Mile, Kingsfield, Pine Forest and Highway 95A. Map links are below:
