Escambia District Teacher Job Fair Today

If you have a college degree and you have considered teaching, the Escambia County School District would like to talk to you about a career in education.
Those with a four year degree may be eligible to enter the teaching profession and become temporarily certified before obtaining a permanent certification of the course of three years. Those with an associates degrees may be interested in becoming a substitute teacher.
A teacher job fair will be held today from noon until 8 p.m. at the McDaniel Building at 75 North Pace Boulevard. Drop-ins are welcome; no appointment is necessary.
Attendees should bring resumes and unofficial transcripts.
District representatives will be on hand e to address questions about the variety of available positions and to assist with the application process. Computers will be available on site for applicants to apply for positions and schedule fingerprinting to continue the application process. Applicants will be responsible for the fingerprinting fee.

Today Is Voter Registration And Party Change Deadline

Today is the deadline to register to vote in the August 28 primary elections, and the Escambia County Supervisor of Elections office will hold extended hours to allow voters to register or change their party affiliation
Florida law mandates that registration books close 29 days before an election. New registrations and party changes must be completed and received or postmarked no later than July 30 for them to be effective for the August 28 election. Authorities Seek Two For Helping Hit And Run Suspect Wallace Evade Capture
July 27, 2018
Authorities are searching for two men they say helped hit and run suspect Markquise Deshawn Wallace evade capture.
Pensacola Police are seeking the whereabouts of 37-year old Darius Brown. Brown is wanted on an accessory after the fact charge for assisting Wallace hide the Dodge Challenger Wallace was driving when he struck three pedestrians, Brown is 5’11 and weighs 175 pounds.
The State Attorney’s Office is seeking 41-year old Ricardo Mars, who also assisted in hiding the vehicle. Mars is 5’11 and weighs 190 pounds.
Three people were crossing Cervantes Street near M Street when they were hit by a Dodge Charger driven at a high rate of speed by Wallace, according to Pensacola Police. Neariaah Ikerria Williams, age 8 months, and a family friend, 28-year-old Nephateria Monique Williams, died. The child’s mother, 27-year-old Quineka Tyon Baldwin, was injured.
