Early Voting Ends Today
November 3, 2018
Today is the last day of early voting for the November 6 General Election. A total of nine sites will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the county:

- Escambia County Extension, 3740 Stefani Road, Cantonment
- Brownsville Community Center, 3200 W. DeSoto Street
- University of West Florida, Building 90, Campus Lane
On Election Day, Tuesday, November 6, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Voters must present a valid photo and signature ID and must vote at their home precinct on Election Day. Voters are encouraged to verify their Election Day polling location by checking their Voter Information Card, sample ballot, the Where Do I Vote? feature on EscambiaVotes.com, or by contacting us by phone or e-mail prior to Election Day. Any voters who need to change their address should contact the elections office prior to Election Day.
Vote-by-mail ballots must be received in the elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day. The U.S. Postal Service recommends voters mail ballots at least one week before the due date. Voters may track the status of their mail ballot at EscambiaVotes.com.

Storms Pass, But Light Rain And Drizzle Hang Around

The threat of severe weather has passed in North Escambia, but there will still be some light rain or drizzle on and off during the afternoon. Temperatures will not rise very much this afternoon – just a chilly rain.
Morning storms left behind a few downed trees, including the one pictured above on Freedom Road. Also on Freedom Road, a reader captured the photo below of a piece of wood that struck a tree.

Several Halloween and fall festival events are scheduled in the North Escambia area:
Victory Assembly of God Fall Festival
Victory Assembly of God will host their annual Fall Festival on Wednesday, October 31, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The free event includes carnival games, trunk-or-treat, chili and hot dogs, inflatables, a bull ride, and much more. The church is located at 1895 Victory Road in Cantonment.
Highland Baptist Church Trunk-or-Treat
Highland Baptist Church will hold a Trunk-or-Treat event on Wednesday, October 31, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. There will also be inflatables for the children to play on! A snack supper will be provided free of charge. In case of inclement weather, festivities will be moved indoors in the fellowship hall. This is a free event and everyone is invited. The church is located at 6240 N Highway 95A n Molino.
First Baptist Cantonment Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat at First Baptist Church of Cantonment Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. Hot dogs, candy, a hayride and the Bloodmobile.
New Life Assembly Trunk or Treat
New Life Assembly at 8450 Highway 97 in Walnut Hill will host a Fall Festival Trunk or Treat on Wednesday from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m.
Heritage Baptist Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat
Heritage Baptist Church will hold a Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
Flomaton Annual Fall Festival – Canceled
The Town of Flomaton has canceled their annual Fall Festival/Trick or Treat in the Street that was set for Thursday night.
