Mrs. Emma Jean Myles, 62, of Century, Fla. transitioned into eternal rest on Jan. 3, 2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pilgrim Lodge Baptist Church.
Her parents, Henry McCall and Lillie Mae King Corner; one son, Anthony Myles; one sister, Voncille Harris and one brother, Henry McCall preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memories are four daughters, Maretta (Linwood) Russell of Brooklyn, N.Y., Samello Myles of Century, Fla., Simone Myles of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Tyaisha Myles of Century, Fla.; two brothers, Aaron (Viteria) Madison and Nathaniel Madison of Century, Fla.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. today, Jan. 9, 2010 at Pilgrim Lodge Baptist Church with the Rev. W.M. Carter officiating. Public viewing was held at the funeral home chapel from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Jan. 8, 2010. Retirement of her remains was in the Century Cemetery.

Mr. Oliver Marshall Hanks, 84, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2010 in Bratt, Fla.
Mr. Hanks was a native and lifelong resident of Bratt, a veteran of WWII, retired from the Frisco Railroad after 41 years, a member of the Century Masonic Lodge for 50 years, a farmer and attended the Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Elizabeth Hanks.
Survivors include his son, Michael M. and Gayle Hanks Of Atmore, AL; three daughters, Frances Kay Hanks of Pensacola, FL, Betsy and Will Perkins of Oak Grove, FL, and Amy Nanette and Richard Caum Of Molino, FL; 6 Grandchildren, Tabitha Hanks (Mason) Frazier, Cory (Katrina) Hanks, Sara Perkins (Todd) Harris, Lawrence Dale Perkins, Marshall Keith Caum, and Lennie Nannette Caum; 3 Great-Grandchildren, Olivia Frazier, Anna Beth Frazier, and Naomi Hanks; a Brother, Homer Lee Hanks of Oak Grove, FL; and three Sisters, Claudia Kunert of San Diego, CA, Malveen Lang Of Pensacola, FL and Ruth Morgan Of Cantonment, FL.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Chewning officiating.
Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010, between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mason Frazier, Cory Hanks, Todd Harris, Dale Perkins, Marshall Caum, and Edward Godwin. Honorary pallbearers will be his Men’s Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Velma Odom, 74, passed away On Saturday, January 2, 2010, in Brewton, AL.
Mrs. Odom was a native of Bluff Springs, FL, a former resident of Atmore, AL, and a resident Of Range, AL, for the past eight years. Preceded in death by a Daughter, Donna Sue Odom.
Survivors include: her Husband, Orrie Odom Of Range, AL; two Sons, James Odom and Frank Odom, both Of Range, AL; 7 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; two Brothers, Wilmer Scott of Bay Minette, AL, and Billy Scott of Little River, AL; and two Sisters, Ruth Scott of Atmore, AL, and Roberta Johnson of Atmore, AL.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Thurl Pearson officiating.
Burial will follow at Hartwood Methodist Cemetery in Range, AL.

Mrs. Dora Belle Sims Ard, 93, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009 at a Pensacola hospital.
Mrs. Ard was a native and lifelong resident of McDavid, FL, and a lifelong member of Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her Husband, Charles Ard, her Parents, Conrad and Carl Sims, and two Sisters, Clara Gee and Hazel Brown.
Survivors Include: her four Daughters, Frances and Richard Townes, Joann Freeman, and Mary and Gary Graf, all of Cantonment, FL, and Connie Rigby of McDavid, FL; 7 Grandchildren, Pamela Ammerman, Cyndi Daniel, Tony Rigby, Gena Rigby, Alan Graf, Julie Cartwright, and Jason Freeman; 8 Great-Grandchildren, Angela Baker, Matthew Ammerman, Dalton Daniel, Brenden Clay, Alyssa Clay, Josie Cartwright, Tyne Freeman, Kaylee Freeman, and Madison Ammerman; and many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Dexter Truesdell and the Rev. Phil Enfinger officiating.
Burial will follow at Ray’s Chapel Cemetery.

Sheila Loretta Johnson

Sheila Loretta Johnson, age 61 of Cantonment, FL passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 24, 2009 in a local hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Athan Meacham and Voncile White Huggins.
Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Donald Johnson; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Jackie Fox; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Allen Butler and Melissa Brucker; three grandchildren, Britny, Kalynn and Kameron; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Walnut Hill, FL.
FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME SOUTH, 100 Beverly Parkway, is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 28 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mary Jean (Gulsby) Busbee

Mary Jean (Gulsby) Busbee went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2009 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born on July 10, 1937 in Barrineau Park, Fl. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Mary Gulsby; brother, Frank Gulsby, Jr; and son, Buddy Busbee. She is survived by her husband, Truman Busbee; children, Eleanor (Wayne)Myrick of Pensacola, FL, Edward (Shelly) Busbee of Cantonment, FL, and Kenneth (Wendy) Busbee of Wake Forest, N.C.; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild; sister, Joyce (Odis) Brill; and a host of other family and friends.
She was retired with 27 ½ years of employment at Barrineau Park School. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church of Pensacola and a charter member of Barrineau Park Historical Society.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at First Assembly of God Church of Pensacola. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Rev. Jerry Johnson, Rev. Avon Fowler, and Rev. Ron Carnley will officiate. Burial will follow at Pensacola Memorial Cemetery. T

Mr. Jerry Mack Kimmons, 55, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2009 in Flomaton, AL.
Mr. Kimmons was a native of Byrneville, FL, a resident of Flomaton, AL for the past 20 years and attended the Pentacostal Church. He was a former employee of CPC and Service Welding, and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors Include: his Wife, Laura Kimmons of Flomaton, AL; four Sons, James Leon Emmons, Marvin Earl Emmons, Jr., and Tony Dewayne Emmons, all of Flomaton, AL, and Clifton Eugene Emmons of East Brewton, AL; three Daughters, Tonya Renee Braswell of Ellenwood, GA, Tammy Lynn Gibson of Brewton, AL and Tonia Emmons of Robertsdale, AL; 19 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; and three Sisters, Faye Wilson of Flomaton, AL, Betty Wilson of Canoe, AL, and Estelle Buckhault of Bratt, FL.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Gay officiating.

Loretta Maudine “Dean” Glass

Loretta Maudine “Dean” Glass, a member of Sardis Baptist Church in the Wawbeek community, died Wednesday at a hospital in Florida. She was 73.
Mrs. Glass, a resident of Flomaton for the past 23 years, formerly lived in Pensacola. She was a native of Bobtown, Ky., where she was the 1954 valedictorian at Eubank High School.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, James P. “Jimmy” Glass of Flomaton; one son, James P. Glass Jr. of Conroe, Texas; two daughters, Evelyn L. Gutknecht of Pace, Fla., and Elizabeth Sutley of Pensacola; three sisters, Marie Dove of Elizabethtown, Ky., Maxine French of Science Hill, Ky., and Rose Estep of Somerset, Ky.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service at Flomaton Brown Service Funeral Home in Flomaton. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery in Wawbeek.
Clatys “Pops” Woods

Clatys “Pops” Woods, a native of Crestview, Fla., and a longtime resident of Perdido, died Monday at his home. He was 89.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Woods of Perdido; five children, Willie Woods of Ashton, Md., Kathy Welker, Tommy Woods and Anthony Barron, all of Perdido, and Johnny Barron of Camden, N.J.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral at Morning Dove Baptist Church in Perdido. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Christian Memorial Funeral Home in Atmore is handling arrangements.
Donna Aeppli

Donna Aeppli, a resident of Bluff Springs, Fla., died Sunday in Flomaton. She was 69.
Survivors include her three children, James H. Young and Lorri Williams, both of Walton, N.Y., and Rosalie Flannigan of Franklinton, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
Services will take place in Walton at a later date. Arrangements are by Hughes Cremation and Funeral Service in Daphne.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
