Gerald George “Jerry” Huelsbeck

Gerald George “Jerry” Huelsbeck passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, March 3, 2010. He was a lifelong resident of Cantonment, FL. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and was retired from NAS Pensacola after 28 years of service.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F. and Myrtle (Berg) Huelsbeck; his brothers, Charles J. “Pete” Huelsbeck, Sr. and Paul Huelsbeck.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Frances (Helms) Huelsbeck; two sons, Robert Joseph and Jason Everett Huelsbeck; three sisters, Grace Krochta, Elizabeth (Robert) Haber and Margaret Marabella; two brothers, John W. Huelsbeck, Sr., and Joseph F. (Jody) Huelsbeck; two sisters-in-law, Amy Helms Phillips and Mary E. Lowery; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Faith Chapel North Funeral Home, 1000 Hwy 29, Cantonment. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Huelsbeck Cemetery in Farm Hill with nephews serving as pallbearers.

William Donald “Don” Huie

William Donald “Don” Huie, of Wing, Alabama went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2010.
He was born in McDavid, and retired from Reichhold Chemical in 1988. He was an avid coon hunter and loved to spend time with friends in the woods. He traveled around the country to coon hunt and go to meetings to preserve the rights of dog hunters everywhere. He was on the forefront of opening Blackwater Forest for dog hunters and coon hunters. He was one of the founding members of the Jay Coon Hunting Club and the Northwest Florida Tree Hound Club, of which he was also on the Board of Directors.
Don never met a stranger and was a great storyteller. He remembered every detail and kept his listeners captivated until the end.
Don was preceded in death by his parents William Homer Huie and Pencie Ola Bass Huie. He leaves to cherish his memories sons Wayne (Jo Ann), Bruce (Myrtice), Jim (Debbie), and Tom and daughter, Sheila Bahner; and sisters: Frances Green of Old Town, Fl, Lillian Green of Century, Mavis King of McDavid, Mable Thames of Oak Grove, and Wylene (Pat) Miller of Marietta, GA; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jim Huie, Josh Huie, Steven Huie, Guy Huie, James Skinner, and Henry Langford. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Davis, Curtis Nixon, Aubrey Johnson, Dan Fike, Steve Coplen, Robert Davis, Josh Simpson, Daniel Young, and Mike Yarborough. A special thanks goes to, Charles Davis, Dr. James Brown, Dr. Kevin Jones, nurses and staff at the Medical Center Clinic, and West Florida Hospital. Burial was at Ray’s Chapel Cemetery on Saturday, February 20.
Harry Fowler

Harry Fowler, age 83, of Cantonment, Florida passed away Thursday, February 25 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 18, 1926 in Munson, Florida. He retired from Monsanto. He served the Lord faithfully for 71 years and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Rev. Riley and Virgie Fowler, son, Clyde, his sister Hazel and his brother James.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years; Geraldine, sons; Donald (Donna) and Glenn, daughter; Regina (Ronnie) Golloher, grandchildren; Riley, Jeremy and Brannon Fowler, Krista Spears, Jonathan and Nicholas Golloher, 9 great grandchildren and brothers; David, Sidney, Lloyd and Jack Fowler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 1, 2010 at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Larry McKeehan and Rev. Avon Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Serving, as pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons.
The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel North-Cantonment on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.

Gladys Wise Frazier, 91, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in Atmore, AL.
Mrs. Frazier was a native of McCullough, AL, a lifelong resident of Atmore, AL, and attended the First Baptist Church. She was an employee of Vanity Fair Mills during the war, an employee of the Tot Shop for over 35 years and a Pink Lady at Atmore Community Hospital. Preceded in death by her Husband of 69 years, Cliff Frazier, and a Daughter, Marilyn Frazier Weir.
Survivors include: two Sons, Charles and Patsy Frazier of Evergreen, AL, and Gary Michael and Paula Frazier of Weehawken, N.J.; 8 Grandchildren, Steven Weir, Sandra Yacavonne, Darren Frazier, Kimberly Newman, Charles Christopher Frazier, Mason Frazier, Martha Frazier, and Jill Mize; 14 Great-Grandchildren; and a devoted Caregiver, Toni Diane Boutwell.
Funeral services will he held Monday, March 8, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 8, 2010 from 11:00 A.M. until funeral time at the First Baptist Church.

James Edward Pearson

Mr. James Edward Pearson, 85, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at a Mobile hospital.
Mr. Pearson was a native of Range, AL, a resident of Atmore, AL, for most of his life, and attended the New Beginnings Ministries. He was a talented musician and singer and a member of SAIL. Preceded in death by his Wife, Agnes Pearson and a Son, Thomas Clyde Pearson.
Survivors include: two Sons, the Rev. Ollie and Myrle Pearson of Eight Mile, AL and the Rev. Thurl and Gayle Pearson of Atmore, AL; two Daughters, Lillian and Kenneth Nix of Brewton, AL and Frances and Al Brown of Atmore, AL; 22 Grandchildren; 55 Great-Grandchildren; and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will he held Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Thurl Pearson and the Rev. Clyde Bruley officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2010 between 6:00 and 9:00 P.M. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Morrison, Wade White, Jeff Pearson, Anthony Pearson, Michael Pearson, Michael Herrington, and Blake Pearson.

Charlotta “Lottie” Rhodes

Charlotta “Lottie” Rhodes, age 74, formerly of the Beulah community, now living in Baker, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 peacefully at home with her family and friends by her side. Charlotta was born July 18, 1935 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She graduated from Pensacola High School in 1954. She retired from the naval aviation beauty salon after 22 years. She loved to cook for her family and friends and loved horseback riding.
Lottie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lou Gafford and Thelma Romeo, and great granddaughter, Nevaeh Harvell.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Lloyd “Dusty” Rhodes, daughters, Tina (Jack) Martin, and Tammy Kagarise, grandchildren, Nicole Campbell (Damian), William (Mercedes) Kagarise, Trey Campbell (Alesha), Mariah Wright, Theresa Martin and Russell Rhodes, great grandchildren, Serenity Harvell and Kailyn Kagarise and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment Pastor Jim Vail officiating. Private burial will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
Serving, as honorary pallbearers will be, Mack Gafford, Mike Gafford, Anthony Romeo, Tal Gray, William Kagarise and Trey Campbell.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.

Floye E. Brewton, age 77 of Marianna, FL passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 in Marianna.
He was born February 9, 1933 in McDavid, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy E. Brewton and Jeanette Brewton, and his brother, Roy E. Brewton, Jr.
He is survived by his sister, Frances Brewton Edwards, his brother, Billy G Brewton, both of Pensacola, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Century High School, Century Florida. He attended Pensacola Junior College and graduated from Florida State University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was employed as a St. Joe Paper Company Plant Manager before moving to Marianna, Florida, he was partner and President of Marianna Hospitality, Inc. and Marianna Developers, Inc. He was named Jackson County Florida Citizen of the year 2006 in recognition of his restoration of a number of historical buildings in Marianna.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel, 4278 Lafayette Street, Marianna, Florida.
A funeral service will be held following the visitation at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
Interment will be at 10:30am Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in McDavid, FL with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
