Geraldine Evers Lambeth

Mrs. Geraldine Evers Lambeth, age 72, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at Jay Hospital.

Mrs. Lambeth was a native of Walnut Hill,and a lifetime resident of the Flomaton community where she was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Tommy (Donna) Lambeth and Danny (Melissa) Lambeth, both of Flomaton; a daughter, DeAnn Lambeth of Flomaton; a sister, Oddette Morris of Flomaton; brother, Leland Evers of California; grandchildren, Matt (Carrie) Lambeth, Mitch (DeAnna) Lambeth, Michelle (Jim) Boutwell, Amber Lambeth, Jessie Chavers, Hunter Chavers; great-grandchildren, Trayton Boutwell, Bryant Lambeth and Isabella Boutwell.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hogg officiating. Interment will follow in Little Escambia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Arrant, Frank Green, Jr., Greg Findley, Destry Findley and Eddie Morris.

Jerry Wayne Boatwright

November 26, 2010

Mr. Jerry Wayne Boatwright, 47, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at a Pensacola hospital.

Mr. Boatwright was a native and lifelong resident of Century and attended the Baptist church.

Survivors include his son, Matthew Boatwright of Pensacola; two daughters, Carrie Boatwright and Heather Boatwright, both of Pensacola; three grandchildren; three brothers, Billy and Diane Boatwright of Century, Charles Boatwright of Century, and Doug Boatwright of Pensacola; five sisters, Gloria Jean and Ray Lawson of Century, Judy and David Tillery of Atmore, Margie Knowles of Atmore, Sue and Charles Walston of Century, and Kathy and Donald Edward Walston of Pensacola; and a very good Friend, Rodney Grimes of Century.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Poplar Dell Cemetery with the Rev. Diane Everette officiating.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 27, 2010, from 12:30 p.m. until funeral time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Billy Boatwright, Charles Boatwright, Jeremiah Walston, Michael Walston, Rodney Grimes and Doug Boatwright.

James Richard “Jim” Carroll

James Richard “Jim” Carroll, age 53 of Pensacola, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at his home after a long and very courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family. He was a native of Pensacola; graduate of Tate High School, Class of 1975. Jim was an avid drag car racer and fishermahis CB name was Hustler and most recently “The Judge”.

He had a zest for living life.

He was employed at NES in Pensacola; he was often referred to by many as the best welder in town.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, John Carroll III and Johnny Carroll.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Teena E. Carroll; two daughters, Kristyn Carroll and Kaitlyn Carroll; parents, John and Patsy Carroll; two sisters, Linda Kelly and Ann Simmons (Mervyn); three nieces, Ginger, Heather and J.B.; six great nieces and nephews, Brandon, Cody, Bentley, Lola, Bailey and Hunter; one great-great-niece, Bree; and many extended family and loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jim’s name to Sacred Heart Medical Oncology Group, with a special thanks to Dr Thomas Sunnenberg and Dr. John Gage.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 Hwy 29S, Cantonment, FL. Interment will follow at Whitmire Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 27, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Della White Griffis

November 24, 2010

Mrs. Della White Griffis, 83, of North Century Boulevard in Century passed away Wednesday morning November 24, 2010, at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Griffis was a native and former resident of Perdido, Ala., before moving to Century 60 years ago. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include four sons, Billy Griffis, Marty Griffis, Keith Griffis and Rodney Griffis, all of Century; one sister, Estelle Hayes of Robertsdale; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday November 27, 2010, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Inc.

Funeral services for Mrs. Della White Griffis are scheduled for Sunday November 28, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Barrow and Rev. James Peacock officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Jay with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.

William Lewis Tague, Sr

November 20, 2010

William Lewis Tague, Sr. age 83 of Hollywood Drive Flomaton, Alabama passed away Sunday night November 14, 2010 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and long time resident of Flomaton, Alabama. Mr. Tague was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church and a retired Brick Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Parmentier Tague of Flomaton; a son, Bill Tague (friend, Jayne Johnson) of Flomaton; and a sister, Sarah McNaul of of Bellingham, Mass.

Memorial services were held Thursday, November 18, at 2 p.m. at St. Maurice Catholic Church with Father Adrian Cook officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Visitation was held Thursday afternoon November 18, 2010 at the St. Maurice Catholic Church Parish Center.

Susie Ann Allen Stewart

Susie Ann Allen Stewart, a native of Gateswood and longtime resident of Atmore, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Atmore Nursing Center at the age of 99.

As a young wife and mother of four, she was busy as a homemaker for several years. In later years, she became a successful salesperson and licensed practical nurse. Her husband pastored several Pentecostal Holiness churches for more than 45 years. Her memory will be cherished by her family, former parishioners and her many friends.

Her parents, John and Sarah Yarbrough Allen; her husband, the Rev. John Wesley Stewart; son, Curtis who died in childhood, all seven of her siblings and their spouses; son-in-law, John Boatwright (Aug. 14, 2010) and her youngest son, Robert A. “Billy” Stewart (Oct. 10, 2010), preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Leon Stewart and wife, Donna, of Atmore; daughter-in-law, Pearl Stewart of Franklinton, LA; eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Dry Springs Cemetery in Enon.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Mary Ann Branson Carnley

Mrs. Mary Ann Branson Carnley, 67, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010, in Flomaton.

Mrs. Carnley was a native of Jay, a former resident of McDavid, and a resident of Flomaton for the past five years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and attended the Calvary Deliverance Temple. She passed away after a courageous battle with cancer and is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Thelma Branson and a daughter, Belinda Lynn Carnley.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 49 years, Daniel C. Carnley; two daughters, Teresa Chavers (Kevin) Davis of Pensacola, and Pamela Carnley Baldree and fiance’, Jeff Potoczek of Century; three grandsons, Ryan K. Chavers, Lucas R. (Heather) Chavers and Joel I. Baldree; 4 great-grandsons; three brothers, Walter Branson, Jr., John Lee Branson and Paul Branson, all of Jay; his stepbrother, Bascomb E. Branson of Palatka, FL; her sister, Ella Mae Branson of Century; special family members, Tudi Stevens, Mary Branson, Randy Chavers, and Mose Baldree; her most faithful companion, R.D. Brusser; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends whom are part of our family. We know our mother has shared many precious memories with you all.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Enfinger and Sister Letha Carnley officiating.

Burial will follow at Cora Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 19, 2010, from 6-9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Randy Chavers, Mose Bauldree, Charlie Johnson, Wayne Blackmon, Tommy Havard and Jerry Gay.

Clarence Elbert “Boe” McKinley

Mr. Clarence Elbert “Boe” McKinley, 79, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, in Little Rock, AL.

Mr. McKinley was a native and resident of Atmore for the past 18 years, and a former resident of Chicago, IL. He was an employee of K-Mart and Winn Dixie for many years, a retired employee from MacLean Fogg after 30 years, and attended the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his Wife, Lucille McKinley.

Survivors include a son, Douglas McKinley of Chicago, IL; three daughters, Darlene Lott of Waveland, MS, Debbie Melcarek of Highland, IN, and Denise Cox of Little Rock, AL; six grandchildren; two brothers, James McKinley of Pensacola, and Levon McKinley of Gulfport, MS; and a sister, Margie Wasson of Pensacola.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 21, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie McGhee officiating.

Burial will follow at Serenity Garden Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010, from 6 until 9 p.m.. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Beverly Burgess Owens

Beverly Burgess Owens, 28, of Brewton passed away at home on Saturday, November 13th from and extended illness. She graduated in 2000 from T.R. Miller High School, attended Auburn University and graduated from the University of West Florida with a degree in advertising. She was a member of Century United Methodist Church and was employed by Bank Trust of Brewton.

Burgess is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jennings Lambert (Bo) Owens II and a brother, Jennings Lambert (Tripp) Owens III of Brewton. She is also survived by her grandmothers, Mrs. Jennings Lambert Owens of Brewton and Mrs. Julian Kohl Ptomey of Flomaton, aunts and uncles, Mrs. Gail Liles and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Saloom of Brewton, Mr. Julian Ptomey of Livingston, Miss Karla Ptomey of Flomaton and Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Owens of Laurel, MS and cousins, Traci Hughes of Brewton, Mary Margaret Stephenson of Birmingham, Steven Godwin of Jay, FL, Teresa Pugh of Pensacola, FL and Alexa and Avery Owens of Laurel, MS.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Mr. Jennings Lambert Owens of Brewton and Mr. Julian Kohl Ptomey of Flomaton and uncle, Dr. Robert Russell Smith of Brewton.

Visitation was held Monday, November 15, 2010 at 4:30 at Century United Methodist Church with memorial service following at 6:00. Charitable Donations can be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.

Frances Arlene Holt

Mrs. Frances Arlene Holt, age 72, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 in a Pensacola hospital.

Mrs. Holt was born in Atmore, and had lived in the Flomaton area since 1954. She was a member of the Flomaton High School graduating class of 1956, and served as a substitute teacher in the Flomaton school system. She was a member of Little Escambia Baptist Church. Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by a daughter, DeLisa Holt.

She is survived by her husband, Mr. Douglas Ray Holt of Flomaton; a son, Mike (Lisa) Holt of Flomaton; brother, Edward (Joyce) Brown of Atmore; one grandchild, Lauren Holt of Flomaton; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family and friends.

Funeral Services were scheduled for Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 2 p.m. graveside at Little Escambia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Doug Hogg Officiating.

Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or to Cancer Research.
