Johnnie Henry Burkett

Mr. Johnnie Henry Burkett, 83, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011, in Pensacola.
Mr. Burkett was a native of Repton, AL, a former longtime resident of Gonzalez and a resident of Byrneville for the past six years. He was a retired employee from St. Regis Paper Company after 38 years of service, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He attended Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Burkett; a sibling; a daughter, Amanda Carroll Reese; and a grandson, Shannon Steudlein.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Childress of Byrneville; a daughter, Wanda Steudlein of Pensacola; a stepson, Michael and Nichole Childress of Byrneville; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; his cat, Bobbie; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore with the Rev. Chris Hawkins officiating.
Burial will follow at Christian Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2011, from 6-9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Jimmy Allen

Jimmy Allen, 74, of Pensacola, died Thursday, March 31, 2011.
Mr. Allen was born October 11, 1936, in McDavid to Henry Allen and Louise Kendall Allen. He worked in construction most of his life and was an avid gardener who loved working with his flowers. Mr. Allen attended Hickory Hammock Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and three brothers.
Survivors include his sisters and brothers, Edna Bell of Flomaton, Hazel Gibbs of Pensacola, John Allen of Bonifay, Bobby Allen of Bonifay, Billy Allen of Tennessee, Barbara Raughton of Pensacola, Larry Allen of Pensacola, Linda Baker of Pensacola and Sherry Kutch of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 05, 2011, at National Cremation and Burial Society in Milton.
Interment will follow at Memory Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. National Cremation and Burial Society, 5641 Highway 90 West, is in charge of arrangements.
Mavis Jean Huie King

Mavis Jean Huie King, 77, went home to the Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2011. A member of the Methodist faith, Mavis was a lifetime resident of McDavid.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Homer and Pencie Ola Bass Huie; husband: Felton Claudell King; daughter Deborah; brother Don Huie; and grandchildren Thomas White and James Michael White.
She is survived by daughters Vanessa King Walker, Arleen (Gregory) Bush and Darleen (Bobby) Jernigan; sisters, Frances Green, Lillian Green, Wylene (Pat) and twin Mable Thames, Marjorie; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North in Cantonment.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Joelle Carmon Riley lived a beautiful life from July 24, 1986 until March 31, 2011.
She grew up in Barrineau Park but currently lived in Pensacola. She graduated from Tate H.S. in 2004. She received her license in aesthetics in 2006 from George Stone and in January graduated with a Pharmaceutical Technician license from Virginia College. She loved and surrounded herself by family and friends.
Joelle is preceded in death by her dad, Joe Riley, Jr. and her grandparents, Mama Neil and Papa Neil.
She is survived by her fiancé, Donald Russell; her mom, Dee Riley; her sisters, Deidre Riley and Romona Parsons; her brother-in-law, Brian Parsons; her niece, J.C. Parsons; her nephew, Jackson Parsons; her grandparents, Rachel and Joe Riley, Sr.; and numerous other family members.
Visitation will be on Monday April 4, 2011 between 5-7pm at Trahan Family Funeral Home. Memorial service will be Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 3 p.m. also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, her family would like donations made to Regions Bank Joelle Riley Scholarship Fund.

Ronald Jesse “Ron” Graves, Jr.

Mr. Ronald Jesse “Ron” Graves, Jr., 40, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2011, in Flomaton.
Mr. Graves was a native and resident of Flomaton for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grover and Cassie Graves of Pineview, V.T. Thomas of Century, and Irene Hollingshead of Greenville, AL.
Survivors include his parents, Ronald and Lula Graves of Flomaton; a brother, Denver and Ronda Graves of Flomaton; three nephews, Tanner Graves, Cole Graves and Mason Graves, all of Pineview; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Jesse Lough officiating.
Burial will follow at Flomaton Cemetery.

Robert Monroe Womack

Mr. Robert Monroe Womack, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011, in Atmore.
Mr. Womack was a native of Goodway, AL, and a resident of Atmore for most of his life. He retired from Solutia after 29 years of service and worked at Builder’s Hardware and Bondurant’s Hardware. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion and the Judson Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Robert and Alice Sybil Womack.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lillie “Tiny” Womack of Atmore; two daughters, Debbie Dean of Atmore and Tammie and Ricky Davis of West Lake, LA; four grandchildren, Amber Partain of Lafayette, LA, Hasten Dean, Jr. of Atmore, Adam Davis of Baton Rouge, LA, and Kevin Dean of Atmore; three great-grandchildren, Hasten Dean, III, of Atmore, Brandon Dean of Atmore, and Ainslie Partain of Lafayette, LA; a brother, John and Sandra Womack of Gonzalez; and a sister, Dorothy Smith of Atmore.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 4, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Wilson and the Rev. Mike Grindle officiating.
Burial followed Serenity Garden Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ernie Ziemke, Keith White, Gerald Stacey, Bill Robinson, David Matheny and Robert Brantley.

Elvin (Papa) McDonald, age 63, and a lifelong resident of Cantonment went to join the Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. He was surrounded by his family and friends.
Elvin was born May 25, 1947, in Pensacola. He was an amazing husband, daddy, papa, brother and friend to so many.
Elvin was preceded in death by his mother, Nettie McDonald, his father, John McDonald and brothers Wilburn McDonald, Wilmer McDonald and Carl McDonald. Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Becky Mar tin McDonald; his children, Chris McDonald, Ronnie McDonald and Laurie Dove; his son-in-law Patrick Dove and daughter-in-law; Tiffany McDonald and Lynne McDonald; his grandchildren, Shelton Adkinson, Garrett McDonald, Levi McDonald, Hunter McDonald, Kendra McDonald, Allyson Bullard, Ryan Dove and Jacob Dove; brothers; Herman McDonald, Charlie McDonald and Don McDonald; his sisters, Marie Powell, Mary Brooks, Dorothy Diemer, Vivian Lambeth, Bertha Comans, Vera Volovecky and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, April 1, 2011, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Ron Carnley, Rev. Michael Tadlock and Rev. Gene Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Harold Mar tin, Shelton Adkinson, Garrett McDonald, Levi McDonald, Robert Glover, Charles (Junior) McDonald and Robert Weekley.

Geraldine “Gerry” Henderson Davis

Geraldine “Gerry” Henderson Davis, 71, went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2011,at a local hospital.
She was a native of Flomaton and longtime resident of Century. She retired from the Escambia County School District after 23 years of service. She was a devoted member of Faith Bible Baptist Church and taught the “Dorcus” Sunday school class for many years until her illness inhibited her. She also loved to travel, spend time with grandchildren and help her neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Katie Henderson; sister Catherine Chessher Brown; son-in-law Jim Rice; and granddaughter Jeri Denise Davis.
She is survived by devoted and loving husband of 55 years, Willie Lee Davis; children: Marilyn Rice, Billy (Karen) Davis, Keith Davis all of Century, Jackie (Jason) Thomas of Jay, Susan (Daniel) Macks, of McKenzie, AL; 12 grandchildren;11 great grandchildren; special sister-in-law Charlotte Toop; siblings Wayne Henderson of Flomaton, Glenda Hayes of Jay, Mike Henderson of Mobile, Kenny (Maria) Henderson of Theodore, AL, Gale Shepherd of Theodore, AL, Joyce Grissett of Irvington, AL, Donald (Kristine)

Billy Ray Stafford, 72 of Atmore,died Monday March 28, 2011, at his residence. He was retired from Scott Paper Co. (Kimberly Clark).
He was born in Monroe County, on December 05, 1938, to the late Calvin Howard and Sallie Mae Bell Stafford. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin LaDon Stafford and William Howard Stafford.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Mae Conway Stafford; one son, Kelvin Julius Stewart and wife, Anne; one daughter, Karen Julia Clements and husband Michael all of Atmore; one brother, Julian Robert Stafford of Frisco City, Ala.; three grandchildren, Brett Clements, Lauren Stewart and Rachel Stewart, and many friends.
Services will be Thursday March 31, 2011, at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore with Bro. Mike Grindle officiating. Interment will follow in Conway Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be LaDon “Scooter” Stafford, Daryl Singleton, Bobby Wooten, Shane Stafford, Eric Stafford, and Melvin Byrd.

Allen Earl Cash

Mr. Allen Earl Cash, “The Music Man”, died Saturday, March 26, 2011. He was 65.
He was born in Brewton on December 1, 1945, to Willard and Cora Cash. Allen attended Pollard-McCall Jr. High School and Flomaton High School. Allen was a talented artist and after high school he moved to Chicago to play music with two of his brothers where they played in lounges, theaters, and banquet halls. He moved to Nashville where he became a record producer and worked with many top artists in the country music industry and he started his own record label that produced many great songs. He moved to Salinas, CA where he became sales manager at a major automobile complex.
Allen was diagnosed with heart failure and received a heart transplant at the age of 50 at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. Allen’s heart was touched by Sarah Riley. He moved back to Creola, AL to be close to his family roots and his love of music. He continued to promote artists and produce records and recording sessions until his health deteriorated. Even with all of the major health problems, aches, pains and frustrations, he never complained. His positive attitude wil be admired by family and friends forever. He established a non-profit organization called “OTR” Organ Transplant Recipients to help recipients and their families cope with the obstacles involved with such a procedure.
Allen leaves behind five children, Allen Cash, Jr., and wife Sandi of Vail, AZ, Erin May of Nashville, TN, Adam cash and wife Dawn of Nashville, TN, Ryan and Matthew Cash of Salinas, CA; brothers, Barney and wife Irene Cash of Century, FL, O.D. and wife Betty Cash of Flomaton, AL, George and wife Ann Cash of Bay Minette, AL, Gene and wife Aggie Cash of Franklin, TN, Odell and wife Linda Cash of Huntsville, AL, William Cash of Mobile, AL, Milford Cash of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Dorothy McCurdy of Century, FL, Bobbie and husband Clifford Frazier of Flomaton, AL, Joyce and husband Al Erskin of Chattory, WA, Shirley and husband Wayne Owens of Flomaton, AL, Rebecca “Becky” Cash of Pensacola, FL, Linda and husband, Roy Batie of Brewton, AL, Wanda Cash of Brewton, AL; grandchildren, Adam, Jr., Tyler, Kylie, Alexa, Colby, Joseph, and David; Great-grandson, Thomas.
