Judy Cartwright Macks

Judy Cartwright Macks, 62 of Century, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 6, 2011.  Mrs. Macks was a member of New Covenant Holiness Church at Bluff Springs.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Milton W. Cartwright and brother, Robert LaVaughn Cartwright.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Reverend Joe E. Macks; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Randall Musgrove; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Deanna Macks and Daniel and Susie Macks; daughter-in-law, Wendy Macks; eleven grandchildren, her mother, Cora Lee Cartwright; special children, Dustin Smith and Tiffany Wiggins; four sisters, Wyvonne Pantermuehl, Eloise Rushing, Mavis Johnson and Helen Morris; three brothers, Eugene Cartwright, Jerry Cartwright and Rufus Cartwright; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends; and a special friend, Elaine.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church with Reverend Ray Hudson officiating.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home, 100 Beverly Parkway, is in charge of arrangements.

Leon “Jimbo” Tolin

Leon “Jimbo” Tolin, 72, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at a Mobile hospital. He was a native and resident of McCullough, Ala. He was an avid gardener, football and baseball fan, constable of McCullough, and retired owner/operator of the McCullough Grocery Store and the American Service Station at I-65. He attended the Baptist church.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Tolin.

Mr. Tolin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Tolin of McCullough; two sons, Tony Scott of Flomaton and James Scott of McCullough; two daughters, Sonja Tolin and Shannon Norton of Lubbock, Texas and Diane Chapman of Atmore; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Otis Thames officiating. Burial will follow in McCullough Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 4, 2011, between 6 and 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tony Scott, James Scott, II, Jimmy Dale Boyington, Danny Boyington, Lou Thrower, and Shannon Norton.

Alfred Bruce Hall, Sr.

Alfred Bruce Hall, Sr., 52, of Oak Grove, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011. He was born in Oak Grove to Mildred Marie Hadley and Earnest Jerry Hall. He loved the outdoors, and spent most of his life as a wildlife hunting guide with a successful business (Boar Busters) in Villa Platte, LA. He wrote articles for wildlife magazines, and appeared on wildlife TV shows in Louisiana.

Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Brenda Hall of Oak Grove; his father, Earnest Jerry (Judy) Hall of Oak Grove; his mother, Mildred Marie Hadley Hall of Atmore, Ala.; his children, Jennifer Hall Guidry of Oxford, Mass., Katie Hall (Brian) Toy of Va., Alfred Bruce Hall, II of Byrneville, Windy Hall (Jared) Hudson of Gautier, Miss., Brandon Hall of Pensacola, and Megan Hall McMillin of Pensacola; his step-children, Scott (Jana) Bartley of Oak Grove, Johnathon Frost of Mobile, Chris Frost and April Garvin, both of Atmore; 13 grandchildren, and a brother, Marion Mark (Debra) Hall of Ocwocknee, Ga.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 31, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Welch officiating.

Pallbearers were Aaron Hall, Brian Rolin, John Hansen, Scott Bartley, Kenny Rolin, Jimmy Hadley, Bobby Hadley, Joey Brown, Alex Hansen, Thomas Qualls and Randy Thames.

Lola Griffin Beasley

Lola Griffin Beasley 82, of Walnut Hill, died at her residence on Friday January 28, 2011.

She was a beautician for 40 years and a member the Walnut Hill Baptist Church. She born in Daytona, Fla. on March 24, 1928, to the late Oswell F. and Zeffie L. Williams Driggers.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Griffin, one brother and one sister.

She is survived by her husband Irvin Beasley of Walnut Hill; a son, Frank Griffin and wife, Myra of Newberry, Fla.; one daughter, Linda Timmons of Palm Coast, Fla.; a step-son, Joseph Beasley of Stockbridge, Ga.; a step-daughter, Judy Hall of Walnut Hill; one brother, Cohen Driggers of Orange Park, Fla.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ted Bridges and Bro. James Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery at Palatka, Fla. Thursday, February 3, 2011.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2011, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore.

Jesse James Odom

Mr. Jesse James Odom, 69 passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011, at a local hospital.

Mr. Odom was a native of Pineview, AL, a former resident of Addison, IL, a resident of Atmore, AL for the past six years and a member of the Iron Worker’s Local #1. He was preceded in death by his half brother Claude Cooper.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie Odom of Atmore, AL; two sons, Jeffery and Linda Odom of Geneva, IL and Michael Odom of Daphne, AL; a daughter, Linda K. Odom of Joliet, IL; four grandchildren, Jennifer Odom, Brandon Odom, Kevin Odom and Alex Odom; a special brother-in-law, Dale Forbes of Atmore, AL; three sisters-in-law, Merlen Forbes and Ann Jones, both of Atmore, AL, and Nell Cooper of Byrneville, FL; a special cousin, Wayne and Paulette Godwin of Century, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Grindle officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 31, 2010, between 6-9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ty Forbes, Greg Forbes, Jeff Thayer, James Hare, Chris Hare, and Casey Hare.

Jeffrey Lynn Cameron

Mr. Jeffrey Lynn Cameron, 62, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2011, in Brewton, AL.

Mr. Cameron was a native of Eufaula, AL and a resident of Brewton, AL for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Norris Masonic Lodge #301, the Scottish Rite, the Abba Temple Shrine, an employee of the Grady Corporation and attended the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth N. Cameron of Brewton, AL; two sons, James Authur Cameron and Robert Woodrow Cameron, both of Brewton, AL; a daughter, Tina Lynn McCoy of Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three brothers, Clinton Cameron of Coco, FL, James Cameron of Range, AL and Jerome Cameron of Pensacola, FL; two Sisters, Carol Cook of Blaine, WA and Barbara Boutwell of Pollard, AL.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2011, between 6:00 and 9:00 P.M. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be his Brother Masons.

Marjorie Oliver Overstreet

Mrs. Marjorie Oliver Overstreet, age 78, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 in a local heathcare facility.

Mrs. Overstreet was born in Houlka, MS and had been a resident of Flomaton since 1959, coming from Camden, AL. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide in Dr. Thomas J. Stuart’s Office for a number of years, and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Overstreet was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. W.E. Overstreet; a daughter, Jane Oliver Merchant; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Fore; a sister, Gertrude James; and a brother, Conway Lowrey.

She is survived by two sons, Roger (Donna) Oliver of Grand Bay, AL and William Trent Oliver of Grand Bay, AL; one daughter, Cheryl (Darryl) Fore of Flomaton, AL; one sister, Jean (Alton) Ricks of Wesson, MS; eleven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hogg officiating. Interment will follow in Mason Cemetery in Dixie, Alabama.

Visitation will be held at Flomaton Funeral Home on Friday from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

George Anthony “Andy” Hollingsworth

George Anthony “Andy” Hollingsworth, 58 of Walnut Hill died Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at his residence. He was a hydraulic mechanic with Ingalls Shipyard. He was born in Atmore on December 20, 1952,to the late Grady and Agnes Albritton Hollingsworth.

He was preceded in death by a son, Chris Hollingsworth.

Survivors are one son, Scott Hollingsworth and wife, Melissa of Walnut Hill; four brothers, Dewey Hollingsworth of Nokomis, Ala., Martin Hollingsworth of Bratt, Winston Hollingsworth of Huntsville, Ala., Marvin Hollingsworth of Atmore, Ala; three sisters, Dorothy McKenzie of Nokomis, Ala., Donna Godwin of Huntsville, Ala., Melba Cook of Walnut Hill; two grandchildren Jacob and Alexies Hollingsworth.

Memorial Services will be Saturday January 29, 2011, at 11 a.m. from the Antioch Church in Nokomis, Fla. with Bro. Dal Hollingsworth officiating. Family will receive friends, Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the Antioch Church one hour prior to service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Antioch Building Fund. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of all arrangements.

Marilyn Michelle McNabb of Calhoun, GA, was born into this life December 2, 1952. The sun set on her journey, January 25, 2011, as she went to her Heavenly home to join her parents Bill and Estelle Thortis, previously of Christian Home Community.

Leaving to celebrate her life, her devoted husband Lester McNabb of Calhoun, GA; one brother, Ervin Thortis and wife Carolyn of Christian Home, FL; two sisters, Diann Stewart and husband Robert of Bratt, FL; Shelia Lambert and husband Mike of Robertsdale, AL; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of cousins and friends.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011, in Christian Home Cemetery at 1:00 pm.

Anton F. Rimpf, Sr.

Anton F. Rimpf, Sr. went home to be with his Lord on January 20th, 2011.

“Tony” to those who knew him, and “Pop” to his family, grew up in Barrineau Park, FL. He served in the USMC and retired from Monsanto Corporation after 35 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cantonment, FL.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 56 years, Carrie B. Rimpf. One son, Anton F. Rimpf, Jr. & wife Cindy and three step-children, Jeannie Rutherford & husband Jim of Molino, John Barbaric of Pensacola, Randy Barbaric of Seminary, MS. Grandchildren, Angela Neal, Andrea Ontiveros, Scott Barbaric, Brian Rimpf, Bridget Rimpf, Nathan Rimpf, & Kevin Rimpf. Six great-grandchildren, April, Brian, Rachel, Bailey, Carter & Greyson. A seventh great-grandchild is due on Jan 31st. Also survived by one sister, Helen Clark and one brother, Steve Rimpf & wife Carol.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Anothony Rimpf and Julia Engle, 2 sisters; Theresa Martin & Agnes Freeman, 2 brothers; Frankie & Joey and grandson, Shane Barbaric.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, January 23, 20100 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 24, 2010 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment. Interment will follow the service at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Barrineau Park, FL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to First Baptist Church Cantonment and Covenant Hospice.
