Debra Joyce “Debbie” Ganey

Debra Joyce “Debbie” Ganey, age 55 of Cantonment, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Ganey was a member at Olive Baptist Church.
Debra is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Donald W. Ganey; two daughters, Candice Odom and Sarah Ganey; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Troy D. and Carrie Cook and William “Check” Speed; four grandchildren, Anna, Ray, Chris and Autumn; parents, Betty and Billy Lord; her aunt, Shirley Parks; other family members and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Dr. Ted Traylor officiating. Interment will follow at Ard’s Field Cemetery, Allentown, FL.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
Joseph Hillary Shelby

Joseph Hillary Shelby, 81, of Escambia County went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Joseph was born on June 12, 1930, in Molino and spent most of his life in Escambia County,Florida. He was the oldest son of the late Joe Wheeler Shelby and late Laura Pugh Shelby.
Joseph served in the Army in Germany prior and at the start of the Korean War. He owned his own appliance business, Lewis Appliance, before retiring in 1980. He was a past Mason and Shriner. Joseph was a passionate church worker in the churches he was a member over the years. He served in the capacity of deacon, Sunday School teacher and Bible leader.
He leaves behind a loving wife of 57 years, Wilma Jean Handrop Shelby; and three lovely daughters, Virginia Shelby, of Pensacola; Myra Pinney (Andrew Pinney) of Cantonment and Barbara Keene (Joe Keene) of Pensacola; three brothers James Irvin Shelby of Molino, Theodore “Diego” Shelby of Pensacola, and Jerry Shelby of Pensacola. He also leaves behind two granddaughters, whom he loved very much, Stephanie Belue (Michael Belue) of Gonzales, Louisiana and Miranda Pinney of Pensacola and one great-granddaughter Rapunzel Belue of Gonzales, LA. He also has numerous aunts and uncles and cousins that he is leaving behind.
He will be greatly missed by many friends and family who have been very devoted to him over the years. It is comforting to know we will see him again in heaven soon.
Services will be held at Faith Chapel North-Cantonment at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2011, and burial immediately following at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, from 5-8 p.m.

Floyd A. Reamer
September 12, 2011
Floyd A. Reamer, 75, passed away September 12, 2011, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Starke City, MO on January 14, 1936 to Roy and Sylvia Reamer.
Known too many in the Molino area as “Monk”, Reamer lived in the Molino area most of his life. He was a man of many trades, farming, construction work, intarsia wood working art and pictures.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his sisters Geraldine and Patsy Ann Reamer; and brothers, Robert Earl and Harry.
He is survived by his sisters, Lucile Whitegon, Bertha Regnier, Jean Hull, Beverly Watson, Charlotte Lamb, Donna Etheridge, Arlis Stevenson, Shirley Waterman, Betty Carroll and Patsy Ann Reamer, and his brothers, Roy and Kenneth Reamer.
A memorial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment.
Memorials may be made in his memory to Highland Baptist Church in Molino or to Covenant Hospice.

Mr. Cody Matthew Brown, 19, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2011, in Atmore.
Cody was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore a member of the Phi Theta Kappa, National Honor Society, SGA, and a graduate of Escambia County High School, Class of 2010. He was the shift manager for McDonald’s. He loved sports, especially basketball, and attended the First Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather, James Edward Brown.
He is survived by his parents, Mark and Sandra Brown of Atmore; his brother, Josh and Allison Brown of Atmore; grandparents, Archie and Cleo Sellers of Atmore and Eloise Copeland of Atmore; his fiance’, Whitney Johnson of Atmore; a niece, Madison Brown of Atmore; and a number of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins..
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Charles Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with Petty Funeral Homes directing.

Benny A. McGhee, age 72 of Atmore, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011, at his residence. He was retired from AT&T with 29 years of service. He was born in Escambia County to the late Adam and Carlie Dee McGhee Daughtry, and he served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Houston Daughtry, Frank Jackson, Gerald Jackson and Lester Dalrymple; andone sister, Doris Daughtry McGhee.

Rayford D. “Ray” Womack, 64 of Huxford, died Sunday September 11, 2011, in Pensacola
He worked for Huxford Pole and Timber. He was born in Goodway, AL on September 24, 1946, to the late Ralph and Pauline Burkett Womack. He was a diehard Alabama fan and was known as “Bama Gator” and his grandchildren called him “Ray Pop”.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Womack of Huxford; four daughters, Deena Sprague and husband, Jamie of Milton, Melanie Luker and husband Jeff of Uriah, Holly Shipp and husband Michael of Brewton,and Brandi Womack of Huxford; two sisters, Anna Sue Rhodey of Mobile and Sharon Crook and husband Curtis of Atmore; two brothers, Joe Womack of Excel, AL, and Ronnie Womack of Hoover, AL; seven grandchildren, Shane Sprague, Savannah Sprague both of Milton, Shae Blackwell, Jess Blackwell both of Uriah, Landon Shipp, Cullen Shipp both of Brewton, Kendal Womack of Huxford; and one great-grandchild, Madison Sprague of Milton.
Graveside services will be Wednesday September 14, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. in Huxford Baptist Cemetery in Huxford, AL, with Pastor Richard Daniels officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Luker, Shane Sprague, Buddy Godwin, Gerald Parmer, Michael Shipp and Buster Ardis.

Raymond Diamond of Jay was born in Century, Florida on April 3, 1940, and passed away surrounded by his family on September 9, 2011.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Julia Faye (Nowling) Diamond; his daughter, Vaneica (Jimmy) Burgess of Jay; his grandchildren, Ashlynn Burgess, Chandler Burgess and Andrew Diamond, all of Jay; his sister, Elaine Golden (Roy) of Pace; his daughter-in-law, Lucinda Diamond of Jay;, his brother-law, Elton Nowling of Jay; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Diamond Jr., his father, Bernie Lee Diamond and his mother, Elise Jackson Diamond.
Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. with family gathering at 5 p.m. at the Jay Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Cora Baptist Church with Bro. A special thank you to Dr. David Smith, Dr. James Stringfield, Dr. Lance Raney and Dr. Jeff Kelley. The family would also like to thank the nursing staff of Jay Hospital and the 3 West nursing staff at Baptist Hospital, as well as the Jay Volunteer Fire Department.

Coby James Smith, 14, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2011, in Atmore.
Coby was a native of Pensacola and a lifelong resident of Atmore. He was a member of the Escambia County High School baseball team, the Escambia County Middle School basketball team, the Cal Ripkin Babe Ruth Baseball League since the age of six, and attended the First Baptist Church of Atmore.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Harold Fuller of Atmore, and his grandmother, Woodie Lou Snider of Huxford.

Ricky was a native of Lubbock, TX, a former resident of Atmore, a resident of Bay Minette for the past two years, and attended the Pentecostal church.
His survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Herrera of Bay Minette; his daughter, Andelina Nichole Herrera of Bay Minette; fiance’, Ashley Priest of Bay Minette; two brothers, Isaac “Taco” Bernal and A.J. Jeremy was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved his niece and nephews and attended the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Donny and Wanda McNeil of Atmore; his son, Joshua Alexander McNeil of Atmore; a brother, Jonathan Andrew McNeil of Atmore; grandparents, F.D. Grant of Atmore; his dear friend, Maxie Banda of Atmore; two nephews, Jaecobey McNeil and Brantley McNeil, both of Lanette, AL; and a niece, Jada McNeil of Atmore.
