Clinton Wheeler, 93, of Cottage Hill, Florida passed away Friday, August 12, 2011.
Mr. Wheeler was born in Andalusia, Alabama, but spent most of his life in Cottage Hill. Mr. Wheeler retired from BEK/Monsanto, he was an avid farmer, cattle raiser, and a hard working man. He was a member of Cottage Hill Assembly Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Verla Wheeler; daughter, Charlene Richardson (Joe) of Jackson, MS; three sons, CJ Wheeler, of Pensacola, Lamar Wheeler (Marie) of Cantonment, Tim Wheeler(Nancy), of Molino; grandchildren Jeff Wheeler, Steven Wheeler, Tonia Boyett, Chris Wheeler, Christie Richardson, Kim Usry, Jessica Broom Joseph Richardson, Katie Wheeler, Laura Wheeler, Michael Wheeler; 15 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Barrow, Ledon Bozeman, Joseph Richardson, Chris Wheeler, Gary Wheeler and Michael Wheeler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rex Barrow, T. J. Barrow, Grady Wheeler and Steven Wheeler.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 14, 2011, 7-9 p.m at Faith Chapel North. A funeral service will be held Monday August 15, 2011, 2-4 p.m. at the Faith Chapel North-Cantonment with Pastor Ronnie McGlothren officiating. Graveside Service will be at the Cottage Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Barrow, Ledon Bozeman, Joseph Richardson, Chris Wheeler, Gary Wheeler and Michael Wheeler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rex Barrow, T. J. Barrow, Grady Wheeler and Steven Wheeler.

Joyce Ann Whaley

Joyce Ann Whaley, 78, of Pensacola went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 11, 2011.
Joyce was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and was employed by Mitchell Motors for 25 years. She also was a faithful member of the Eastern Star. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She had many friends and never met a stranger.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Whaley, Sr.; her sister, Rose Elizabeth Peterson; and her parents, Rosalee and James Ferguson.
She is survived by her three children, Deborah (David) Roberts of Pensacola, Jim (Joy) Whaley of Dothan, AL, and Kim Whaley of Pensacola. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Jonathan Roberts, Alison Roberts Nosie, Logan Roberts, Cal Whaley, Emmalee Odom, Abigail Odom and Nate Odom.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment with Pastor Jeff Howard officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice.

Lois Gulsby Boyington, 83, of Loranger, Louisiana, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at North Oaks Medial Center in Hammond, Louisiana.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky Boyington of Semmes, AL, and Ronald Boyington of Sterret, AL; three daughters, Marilyn Campbell of Loranger, LA, Bertha Patterson of Mandeville, LA, and Ena Humphries of Savannah, GA; brother, Clarence Gulsby of Molino; sister Wanda Henderson of Cantonment; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert R. Boyington.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011, until time of funeral service to be held at 1 p.m. in the Crain Funeral Home Chapel in Franklinton, LA, with Rev. Stan Statham and Rev. Michael Starkey officiating. Burial will follow in the San Pedro Church Cemetery.
Joe F. Dixon

Joe F. Dixon, 72, of Pensacola, loving husband, father, grandfather, was called home August 6, 2011.
Joe was born in Panama City in 1939 to Robert and Wilma Dixon. Joe graduated from Bay High School in 1957. Joe then joined the United States Navy where he served until 1961. In 1961, Joe joined the ranks of the Florida Highway Patrol as a state trooper. Joe served Florida for over 39 years and retired at the rank of captain. Joe graduated in 1976 with a bachelor of arts degree from the University of West Florida. Joe was a 40-year member of Gulf Breeze Lodge # 347.
Joe is survived by his wife of 49 years, Georgetta, son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Melody Dixon; grandchildren Jennifer and Wesley; brother Calvin Dixon and wife Sandy; niece Becky Bolton and husband Jeff, their children Cassidy and Natalie; nephew Scott Dixon and wife Lisa; sister-in-law Elaine Tilson, Highlands, North Carolina; and nephew and nieces David, Gabrielle and Jessica Tilson.
Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, Nascar and Five Flags racing, and he especially loved spending time with his family. “Paw Paw’s” heart and soul were his grandchildren Jennifer and Wesley, or His Honey and Little Buddy.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home. Procession followed to Barrancas National Cemetery. Joe was laid to rest with full military honors.
Serving as pallbearers were Jeff Dixon, Wesley Dixon, Scott Dixon, Robert Hendrix, Mike Kirby and Mark Cotton.
Ellafaire Luker Sasser

Ellafaire Luker Sasser, 86 of Atmore, died Saturday, August 6, 2011, in Chatom, Alabama, at the Washington County Nursing Care Center. She was a native of Freemanville, born on April 3, 1925, to the late Robert S. and Lucinda Elizabeth Digmon Luker.
Ms. Ellafaire was a devout Christian woman, a loving mother and grandmother. She demonstrated in her daily life the depth of her love for family and especially for children. She was a charter member of the Presley Street Baptist church of Atmore. She taught many Sunday school classes and was very involved in vacation bible schools. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss her. She was an excellent cook and an artist producing many beautiful oil paintings.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Ralph Gordon Sasser, who served as a Baptist minister and a psychologist. He was the director of the Mental Health Center in Crestview. Ms. Ellafaire was a dedicated wife, and set an example for the role of a pastor’s wife. She is also preceded in death by a Sister Lucille Centanni.
Survivors include three sons: Ray G. Sasser and wife, Joyce Elaine of Orange Beach; Rev. James Wayne Sasser and wife, Patricia Louise of Pensacola and Ronald Mitchell Sasser of Milton; one daughter, Martha Sue Townsend and husband Marty of Chatom; twelve grandchildren, Karen Davis, Kathy Jackson, James Sasser, Charles Sasser, Scott Ellis, Christy Sasser, Amy Given, Mindy Bobe, Brit Sasser, Carrie Phillips, Emily Townsend and Jenny Beech; 15 great-grandchildren, Ashley Davis, Shannon Davis, Tara Davis, Kevin Jackson, Sean Jackson, Julie Jackson, Hannah Jackson, Brett Wilson, Cade Sasser, Jake Sasser, Alex Given, Tyler Giver, Kyla Given, Sam Phillips and Eli Phillips.
Services will be Saturday, August 13, 2011, at 2:oo p.m. from the Presley Street Baptist Chruch in Atmore. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday, August 13, 2011, at the Presley Street Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Jerry Randell Powell, 61 of Atmore passed away August 5, 2011. He loved boating, fishing, camping and four wheeling. His prize possessions included his grandson Jakob, the electrical business and his many friends that he met on a daily basis.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Jennifer D. Powell; grandson, Jakob Elliott Powell; one brother, Wendell Powell, and one sister, Lendell Parker, both of Crestview; and many other family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the funeral home.

Mable C. Johnson, 83, of Atmore died Friday, August 05, 2011, at her daughter’ss residence. She was retired from Vanity Fair Mills as a machine operator.
She was born in Escambia County, Florida, on December 11, 1927, to the late Beadit Edward and Annie Belle Singleton Conway.
She is preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Johnson, three sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Woodlou Harville and husband D.L. of Perdido, Alabama, Linda Sue Boutwell and husband, Andy R. of Flomaton; two brothers, Winston Conway and Ray Conway both of Pensacola, three sisters, Leatrece Stacey of McCullough, Joyce Neal of Excel, and Catherine Drew of Atmore, three grandchildren, Allison Cooper and husband, Shawn, Andrea Morse and husband, Justin, Kaci Boutwell; and one great-grandchild, Ryley Cooper.
Services will be Monday August 08, 2011, at 2 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Andy R. Boutwell and Bro. Danny L. Harville officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Miss Christina Marie “Nellie” Sneary age 14 of Molino passed away Wednesday night, August 3, 2011, in a Pensacola hospital.
She was a native of Miami-Dade, FL, and a long time resident of Molino. Miss Sneary was of the Mormon faith and a graduate of Ernest Ward Middle School.
She is survived by her father and mother, Mike and Troyce Sneary of Pensacola; maternal grandparents William and Bessie Brantley of Brooklyn, Alabama; paternal grandparents LaVerna Michael Leach of Virginia Beach, Virginia; paternal grandfather Gary Sneary of Jackson, Mississippi, brother- Sgt. Jason (Linda Braswell) Rendell of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; sisters Brandi Sneary of Milton and Elena Rendell of Pensacola; and a number of cousins and other relatives.
Visitation will be held Monday August 8, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday August 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with President Douglas Potter and Bro. Grover Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Dixonville Cemetery in Brewton at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Ricky Dale Wood, 37 of Milton passed away Thursday, August 04, 2011. He loved hunting, fishing and running dogs with his girls. He enjoyed coaching and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar & Bertha Wood and Hillary and Louise Thompson.
Ricky leaves to cherish his memories his father, Richard Wood; mother Linda Wood; two daughters, Mary Leighann Wood and Melissa Anne Wood; two brothers Richie Brian (Jeanie) Wood of Milton, Eric Shane (Kristina) Wood of Flomaton; two nieces, Montana Marie Wood and Leslie Nicole Wood; and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Katie Ruth Norris Darby, 62, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011, at a Pensacola hospital.
Mrs. Darby was a native and resident of Bratt for most of her life and she was the pianist for the Pine Barren Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Kitty, and her parents, Neva and Clarence Norris.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ralph Darby of Bratt; her son, James and Shelley Darby of Louisville, KY; her mother and father, Raymond and Ruth Norris of Bratt; and five grandchildren, Amanda Darby, Keri Darby, Cody Darby, Dylan Williams and Austin Williams.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 7, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Harper and the Rev. Kevin Stott officiating.
Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery.
