George Bernard Price

George Bernard Price, age 85, of Pensacola passed away February 13, 2012. George’s first love was his Lord and Savior. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He loved his North Carolina heritage and he loved to travel and see new places. George was dedicated to his work and the Cantonment Masonic Lodge # 322, where he served as Past Master in 1979 and Chaplin in 1982. He took early retirement as an engineer from Monsanto and went on to work with John Brown Construction Firm until the age of 73. George has 13 U.S. registered patients.
He served in the army and was a proud WWII veteran.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Jobe J. Price and Margaret L. Roberts Price, his wife Elzona Price and his daughter Shanda Lynn Price, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his three children, Janice Poolson (Jules), Stephen M. Price, Darren Price (Melissa), and one step-son Brant Webb (Cheryl), four grandchildren, Darren Price, Jr., William Moody (Lee Ann), Sherry Livingston (Jeremiah), Kevin Moody (Misty), six great grandchildren, Allie and Davis Warren, Courtney and Kelsy Moody, Addison and Fisher Moody, one sister Mary Nichols and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the staff, doctors and nurses of Baptist Hospital for the loving care given to their father. Thanks also to the Health Center of Pensacola “A” wing, and Covenant Hospice especially Father John Conrad and Jessie Adelamn for their comfort and support at the end.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Brent French officiating.
Serving, as pallbearers will be William and Kevin Moody, Ben and Sam Poolson, Jeremiah Livingston and Jules Poolson.
Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.

Nettie Elizabeth Bell

Mrs. Nettie Elizabeth Bell, 74, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012, in Atmore.
Mrs. Bell was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore and attended the Nokomis Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Ola Mae Dulaney, two brothers, Jim Kirby and Rayford Kirby, and three sisters, Virgie May Taylor, Hazel Gorum and Mary Lou McDonald.
Survivors include her husband, Russell F. Bell of Atmore; her daughter, Charlene and Ron Moxness of Walnut Hill; two grandchildren, Lindsey Moxness and Ronald Dawayne “Bubba” Moxness, Jr., both of Walnut Hill; a great-granddaughter, Lakelynn Grace Moxness Ikner of Walnut Hill; a special nephew, Doodle McDonald; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much .
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore with the Rev. Henry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday February 14, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mark McDonald, Jason McDonald, Nathan Bell, Brenton Bell, Dennis Bell and Andrew Gorum, Jr.
Van Ike Sells

Mr. Van Ike Sells, 65, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012, in Atmore.
Mr. Sells was a native of Hillsborough, FL, a former resident of Tampa, and a resident of Atmore for the past two years. He attended the Baptist church.
He was preceded in death by his sife of 12 years, Shirley Sells, his mother, Millicent Sawyer, his father, Milton Sells, and a brother, Melvin Sells.
He is survived by his brothers, Billy Glenn and Betty Sells of Cantonment, and Darrell and Mary Jane Sells of McCullough; four sisters, Hattie and Glenn Knowles of Poarch, Pandora and Frank Andrews of Atmore, Vicky and Doug Burns of Poarch, and Tera and Frankie Coon of McCullough; his stepmother, Anna Lucille Sells; a special nephew, Shelton and Christin Sells of Atmore; a special best friend, Jimmy Mantis; and an aunt, Dora Dinkle of CA.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at the New Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday February 14, 2012, from 10 a.m. until funeral time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore.
Pallbearers will be Shelton Sells, Eric Rolin, Jason Fayard, Ben Andrews, John Sells and David Sells.
Franklin Paul White

Franklin Paul White, of Pensacola passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012, in Pensacola. He was born in Atmore, on April 5, 1963, to the late David F. and Ruby Presley White. He was an engineer with Cellxion Corporation in Shreveport, LA.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer White Ansardi of Belle Chase, LA.; sisters; Francine Wilson of Atmore, Nancy Pace of Canton, GA, Marsha Wright of Pensacola, Connie Gibson of Pensacola, and Judy Kendrick of Pensacola; brothers Russell “Wayne” White of Atmore, David “Mike” White of Pensacola, Richard D. White of Atmore, Wendell F. White of Pensacola, Thomas A. White of Brewton, and Phillip “Terry” White of Atmore; and two grandchildren Collin Warren and Bryleigh Ansardi of Belle Chase, LA.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 13, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Presley Cemetery in Nokomis, AL.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 13, 2012, from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore.
Wanda Bevens

Wanda Bevens, 80, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 2, 2012. She was born October 20, 1931, in McDavid to Wm. C. (Clint) Rigby and Agnes Byrd Rigby. She grew up in Century; graduated from Century High School and Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Pensacola.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Colorado Springs, CO, where she has been an active member for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Maleaze Butler and her brother, Hoytte Rigby.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Grant Bevens of Colorado Springs; sisters, Jean Mayo and Dee (Roger) Enzor of Pensacola; sisters-in-law, Marie Gardner, Lucille Baughman and Myrna Bevens of Colorado Springs and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3 pm Friday, February 10, 2012, at Ray’s Chapel Cemetery in Bogia.

Jimmy Pospiech

On February 7, 2012, Jimmy Pospiech, beloved son, cherished brother, adored cousin and treasured friend passed beyond the reach of our smiles, hugs, love and good wishes. Jimmy was larger than life for all who came in contact with him. Never meeting a stranger in any of his travels; always returning to his favorite state of Florida with more friends than he left with. His laughter, dry humor, quick wit and generous spirit are part of his legacy to every life he touched and will remain with us through the rest of our lives.
Jimmy was a 1982 graduate of Jay High School. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He is much remembered as the drum major of the Jay High School Marching band from 1979-1982. Jimmy was a graduate from Florida State University and a proud member of the Florida State Marching Chiefs. He was a resident of Tallahassee from 1982 until he returned to his home town of Jay in 2010 to be closer to his family. Jimmy enjoyed the social and amiable atmosphere of The Fish House, where he had been employed since his return to Northwest Florida.
He is survived by his parents, Ted and Jean Pospiech, his sister Janet Pospiech and innumerable cousins and friends.
Jimmy will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012, at Jay Funeral Home with Rev. Earle Green and Rev.Wayne Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Coldwater Cemetery. A visitation will be one hour prior from 1-2 p.m.. The family would like to thank the community and friends for their compassion and love giving to our family during this time.

Keith Alan Fleger was called to his eternal home with the Lord on February 6, 2012. Keith was a lifelong resident of Pensacola, Florida. Keith was a 35 year employee of International Paper Company. Some of his favorite pass times were golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Marjorie Fleger, and his sister, Sue Schnarr.
Keith is survived by his wife of 15 years, Debra Willis Fleger; stepdaughter, Angela Bouzios (Nick); stepson, Johnny Jones (Andrea); a sister, Joy Mitchell; six grandchildren; a very special nephew, Duerwood A. Willis, as well as many other special family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mark Nettles, Jeffrey Ginwright, David Smallwood, Lamar Wiggins, Jim Hual, and Phil Nix.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

Ricky L. Davidson, Sr.

Ricky L. Davidson, Sr., passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012. Ricky was born in Pensacola on October 7, 1960, and has been a lifelong resident. He was owner of Davidson Wrecker Service since 1979 and co-owner of Davidson Racing. His favorite pastime and love of his life was NASCAR Racing and local short track at Five Flags Speedway with his loving wife Tina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Sarah F. Davidson.
He leaves behind to celebrate his loving memory his wife of 13 years, Tina; son, Ricky Jr., son and daughter- in- law, Timothy and Samantha; daughters and sons-in-law, Camey and Michael, Marilyn and Arthur; daughter, Tiffany, eight grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, Rodney and Debbie, Steve and Sharrone, and John and Emily, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Faith Chapel North with Rev. Mark Torres officiating. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday February 8, 2012, from 5-8 p.m.

Paul Edgar Mason, Jr.

Paul Edgar Mason, Jr., 76, of Alpharetta, GA, died Monday February 6, 2012, at his residence. He was a former resident of Atmore until he moved to Alpharetta with his wife and daughters in 2004.
He was owner of Sam’s Place with his father Ed for close to 50 years. During this time he also farmed soybeans, corn and wheat with his best friend Jimmy Mason. He also worked for the Escambia Grain elevator with his life-long friend Jim VanPelt.
He was born in Atmore on June 14, 1935, to the late Edgar and Lola Troutman Mason.
He retired with The Army National Guard and served during the Korean and Gulf Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce C. Mason of Alpharetta, GA; two daughters, Shayne Mason Lee and Missy Mason Kindig, both of Atlanta; two sisters, Betty Ann Mason and Lanell Mason, both of Atmore; two grandchildren, Garrett Mason Lee and Colby Kyle Kindig, both of Atlanta.
Services will be Thursday February 09, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church of Atmore, with Rev. Leon Stewart and Rev. Jim Reece officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Mason, Luther James, Wendall Eicher, Steve Drew, Butch Watson and Gary Welch. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Jackson, Jim VanPelt, George VanPelt, Ed Nolan and Wendall James.
Family will receive friends, Wednesday evening February 8, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church from 7 until 8:30 p.m.

John Douglas “Doug” Godwin, age 71 of Bratt, died Sunday, February 5, 2012, in Century. He was retired from Lance, Inc. He was born at Bratt on July 22, 1940 to the late Clyde Edward and Myrtle Agnes Ledkins Godwin.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Kenneth Godwin and Clyde Edward Godwin,Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Brooks Godwin of Bratt; one son, Michael Douglas Godwin and wife Angie of Newton; two daughters, Marsha Phillips and husband, Brandon, Julie McDonald all of Atmore; one brother, William Raymond Godwin and wife, June of Stockton; two sisters, Ruby Ellon Lowrey of Atmore, Judy Agnes Godwin of Gulf Shores; two grandchildren, Dustin and Megan; and many friends.
Services will be Tuesday February 7, 2012, at 2 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Janet Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery in Bratt.
