Thomas Edwin Floyd, Jr.

Thomas Edwin Floyd, Jr. age 69 passed away from his earthly home in Molino on February 18, 2012 under the tender care of Covenant Hospice. Tommy was affectionately known as the Mayor of Dogwood Park. Mr. Floyd was born in Clio, AL, August 22, 1942.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Ruth Cunningham Floyd, and his first wife Barbara Chancellor Floyd.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years Patricia McGahey Floyd of Molino, sons Michael (Shannon), Matthew and daughter Melissa (Anthony) and “adopted” daughter Sara Teymorzadeh all of Pensacola. Tommy also has eight grandchildren Jacob, Tyler, Samantha, Ally, Isabella, Heila, Anthony, and Noah. Other survivors include sister Ellen (James) Baker, brother Bobby (Donna Sue) Floyd, Uncle Alex Brock, and sister-in-law Brenda (James) Coston all of AL, several nieces, nephews and cousins including Jimmy and Jacky (Sharon) Cunningham of Molino. Mr. Floyd also is survived by a brother-in-law Sam (Liz) McGahey of Clinton MS.

Active pall bearers will by Mark Baker, Michael McGahey, Scott Cunningham, Arnold “Dink” Kennedy, Carlos Ted Hassebrock and Mike Spinks.

Mr. Floyd had a successful career with Chemstrand/Monsanto Company starting in 1965 and was medically retired in 1991. Asked to serve as honorary pall bearers are those who worked with Tommy “Wildwood” in the 708 Lab, the Diagnostics Group and Intermediates Maintenance.

Tommy enjoyed fishing, “junking” and a good practical joke. He was a member of Woodbine United Methodist Church, was a Mason, and served in the US Army Reserve.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 am at the funeral home with burial at Aldersgate Cemetery in Molino. Joseph Hobson Huff

February 16, 2012

Joe Huff, age 64 of Pensacola, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012.

Mr. Huff was born in Millport, AL, on August 23, 1947. Mr. Huff was a volunteer firefighter in Escambia County for 48 years. He was also a decorated Marine. Mr. Huff worked at Five Flags Speedway for many years. He was a loving and loyal husband and father.

He is survived by his wife Charlotte; his daughters Vivian Huff of Pensacola, Wendy Wedgwood and Tammy Hester of Grand Bay, AL; his father and mother Clyde and Frances Huff; his brother and sister-in-law Larry and Susan Huff of Pensacola; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild, mother and father-in-law Ester and Alex Cutts of Pensacola; and a sister and brother-in-law Gail and Ernie Craycraft; numerous nephews and nieces; and great nephews and nieces. He had several special girls that were like daughters to him, Elizabeth Peavy of Pensacola, Shannon Neal of Morristown, TN, Talesha Grev of Pensacola, and Mari Grimes of Pensacola.

He was preceded in death by his sister Brenda Huff and a special young man that was like a son Labo Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on February 19, 2012, at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church with the Reverend Bill Flannigan officiating. Interment will follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens on Nine Mile Road.

Serving as pallbearers will be Beulah Fire & Rescue. Honorary pallbearers will be Escambia County Fire & Rescue.

The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment on Saturday, February 18, 2012, from 5-8 p.m.

George Irvin Hanks

February 16, 2012

George Irvin Hanks, age 88, of Cantonment, passed away Wednesday February 8, 2012. He was born September 21, 1923 in McDavid to the late Elijah E. Hanks and Arcora Roach Hanks.

He was a United States Navy Veteran having served in WWII. He retired from Champion Paper and was a life long member of the First Baptist Church of Cantonment.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Estelle O’Farrell Hanks; and a son, Randall G. Hanks.

Survivors include two daughters, Victoria (Mark) Hanks Staples and Karen (Brett) Hanks Shaw; five grandchildren, Heather (Jay) Staples Lucey, Ginger (Troy) Staples Reeder, Christopher Staples, Alexandra Shaw and Austin Shaw; four great grandchildren, Andrew Rohler, Meredith Lucey, Jeremiah Lucey and Nathanial Lucey.

Funeral services were held Monday February 13, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Cantonment. The family received friends at the church before the servicer. Interment followed in Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society . D. C. Daughtry

Mr. D. C. Daughtry, 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, in Poarch, AL.

Mr. Daughtry was a native of McCullough, AL, a lifelong resident of Poarch, a member of the Poarch Creek Indians and attended the Friendly Holiness Church.

He is survived by hi wife, Ernestine McGhee Daughtry of Poarch; two sons, Douglas and Keysha Daughtry of Poarch and Jack Allen and Charlotte McGhee of Pensacola; two daughters, Jackie Smith and Charlotte and Martin Meckel, both of Poarch; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three sisters, Luverne Ward , Savannah Lee Daughtry and Bernice Qualls, all of Poarch.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Friendly Holiness Church with the Rev. Ray Ward and the Rev. Trevor Daughtry officiating

Burial will follow at the Judson/Creek Indian Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday February 17, 2012, from 5 p.m. until funeral time at the Friendly Holiness Church.

Lloyd “Eddie” Phillippi, Jr.

Mr. Lloyd “Eddie” Phillippi, Jr., 56, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, in Atmore.

Mr. Phillippi was a native of Pensacola, a resident of Atmore, AL for the past 42 years and attended the Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Mason Phillippi of Atmore.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 19, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Thurl Pearson officiating.

Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Evergreen, AL.

Visitation will be Friday February 17, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Carolyn Ingram

Carolyn Ingram passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012m at Covenant Hospice at West Florida Hospital.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leroy Ingram of Molino; son, Ron Ingram of Pensacola; daughters, Donna (Andy) Lashley of Molino and Janet (Doug) Pridgeon of Prattville; brothers, Olen (Marie) Davis, Adolph (Sandra) Davis; sister, Margaret Crawford; grandchildren, April Ingram, Whitney Allen, Josh Pridgeon and Adam Pridgeon; great-grandchildren, Cade, Macy, Caleb and Trenton.

She will be remembered as dedicated wife and mother. She was known for her generosity, hospitality, and love of people. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A special thanks to Covenant Hospice at West Florida Hospital, 6th Floor nurses at West Florida Hospital, Dr. Dissanyake, Dr.Boatright, Dr. Scott, Dr. Krentel and staff, and a special family Dave Sanford.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 17, 2012m at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, Florida from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Eastern Gate at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012.

The service will be officiated by Missionary Steve Farmer from Memphis, Tennessee.

George Bernard Price

George Bernard Price, age 85, of Pensacola passed away February 13, 2012. George’s first love was his Lord and Savior. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He loved his North Carolina heritage and he loved to travel and see new places. George was dedicated to his work and the Cantonment Masonic Lodge # 322, where he served as Past Master in 1979 and Chaplin in 1982. He took early retirement as an engineer from Monsanto and went on to work with John Brown Construction Firm until the age of 73. George has 13 U.S. registered patients.

He served in the army and was a proud WWII veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Jobe J. Price and Margaret L. Roberts Price, his wife Elzona Price and his daughter Shanda Lynn Price, two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his three children, Janice Poolson (Jules), Stephen M. Price, Darren Price (Melissa), and one step-son Brant Webb (Cheryl), four grandchildren, Darren Price, Jr., William Moody (Lee Ann), Sherry Livingston (Jeremiah), Kevin Moody (Misty), six great grandchildren, Allie and Davis Warren, Courtney and Kelsy Moody, Addison and Fisher Moody, one sister Mary Nichols and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of the staff, doctors and nurses of Baptist Hospital for the loving care given to their father. Thanks also to the Health Center of Pensacola “A” wing, and Covenant Hospice especially Father John Conrad and Jessie Adelamn for their comfort and support at the end.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Brent French officiating.

Serving, as pallbearers will be William and Kevin Moody, Ben and Sam Poolson, Jeremiah Livingston and Jules Poolson.

Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.

Nettie Elizabeth Bell

Mrs. Nettie Elizabeth Bell, 74, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012, in Atmore.

Mrs. Bell was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore and attended the Nokomis Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Ola Mae Dulaney, two brothers, Jim Kirby and Rayford Kirby, and three sisters, Virgie May Taylor, Hazel Gorum and Mary Lou McDonald.

Survivors include  her husband, Russell F. Bell of Atmore; her daughter, Charlene and Ron Moxness of Walnut Hill; two grandchildren, Lindsey Moxness and Ronald Dawayne “Bubba” Moxness, Jr., both of Walnut Hill; a great-granddaughter, Lakelynn Grace Moxness Ikner of Walnut Hill; a special nephew, Doodle McDonald; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much .

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore with the Rev. Henry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday February 14, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mark McDonald, Jason McDonald, Nathan Bell, Brenton Bell, Dennis Bell and Andrew Gorum, Jr.

Van Ike Sells

Mr. Van Ike Sells, 65, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012, in Atmore.

Mr. Sells was a native of Hillsborough, FL, a former resident of Tampa, and a resident of Atmore for the past two years. He attended the Baptist church.

He was preceded in death by his sife of 12 years, Shirley Sells, his mother, Millicent Sawyer, his father, Milton Sells, and a brother, Melvin Sells.

He is survived by his brothers, Billy Glenn and Betty Sells of Cantonment, and Darrell and Mary Jane Sells of McCullough; four sisters, Hattie and Glenn Knowles of Poarch, Pandora and Frank Andrews of Atmore, Vicky and Doug Burns of Poarch, and Tera and Frankie Coon of McCullough; his stepmother, Anna Lucille Sells; a special nephew, Shelton and Christin Sells of Atmore; a special best friend, Jimmy Mantis; and an aunt, Dora Dinkle of CA.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Daniels officiating.  Burial will follow at the New Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday February 14, 2012, from 10 a.m. until funeral time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore.

Franklin Paul White

Franklin Paul White, of Pensacola passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012, in Pensacola. He was born in Atmore, on April 5, 1963, to the late David F. and Ruby Presley White. He was an engineer with Cellxion Corporation in Shreveport, LA.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer White Ansardi of Belle Chase, LA.; sisters; Francine Wilson of Atmore, Nancy Pace of Canton, GA, Marsha Wright of Pensacola, Connie Gibson of Pensacola, and Judy Kendrick of Pensacola; brothers Russell “Wayne” White of Atmore, David “Mike” White of Pensacola, Richard D. White of Atmore, Wendell F. White of Pensacola, Thomas A. White of Brewton, and Phillip “Terry” White of Atmore;  and two grandchildren Collin Warren and Bryleigh Ansardi of Belle Chase, LA.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 13, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Presley Cemetery in Nokomis, AL.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 13, 2012, from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore.
