Gary Clevon “Pops” James, Sr.

Gary Clevon James Sr., of McDavid passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014.
Gary was born in Pensacola and was a lifelong resident of Escambia County. He was a member of Flomaton Pentecostal Holiness Church and was retired from Armstrong World Industries.
Preceding Gary in death are his parents, Eugene and Edna Lou James; grandson, Timothy Clyston James; three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Barbara Jane James; three sons, Gary, Larry (Sherry), and Wade; two daughters, Barbara (Scotty) and Cassie; five sisters; 15 grandchildren, Trey, Christy, Janey, Brianna, Boo (Sarah), Yogi, B-B (Logan), Tiger, Casey (Brandon), Noah, Spud, Brooke, Logan, and Luke; and six great-grandchildren, Jackson, Bryson, Atticus, Levi, Lizzie, and Maddie.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 4, 2014, from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
The family wishes to express their heart felt appreciation to Covenant Hospice for their excellent care of Gary.
B. Vonette “Bonnie” Boutwell Crawley

Mrs. B. Vonette “Bonnie” Boutwell Crawley, age 85 of East Brewton passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at her home.
Mrs. Crawley was a native of Flomaton and a member of the Brewton community for the past thirteen years coming from Century. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church of East Brewton and a former member of Little Escambia Baptist Church of Flomaton. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Crawley; son, Donald Crawley; two brothers, Robert Boutwell and her twin, Dewitt Boutwell; sisters, Lula Dole, Teenie Johnson, Jean Ross, Agaline Hendrix, Essie Calloway, Dessie Mauldin, and Doris Tarpley.
Mrs. Crawley is survived by her daughter, Mary Jean (Mike) Goolsby of East Brewton; sisters-in-laws, Marilyn Boutwell of VA, Betty (Oria) Stuckey of Byrneville, adn Hazel (Bill) Crawley of Century; grandchildren, Missi (Harrison) Smith of Central, SC and Brad Crawley and Carolyn Antoniono of Simpsonville, SC, Scott (Amber) Goolsby and Ashley (Danny) McInnish, both of Auburn; great-grandchildren, Courtney and Allison Smith, Collin and Mary Carlton McInnish and Gracey Lynn Goolsby; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Watts officiating.
Interment was in Flomaton Cemetery in Flomaton.
Pallbearers were Michael Goolsby, Brad Crawley, Scott Goolsby, Harrison Smith, Danny McInnish and Collin McInnish.
Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Crawley’s nephews.

Vivian Genene Bailey Baggett, 74 of Canoe passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014, in Atmore. She was a License Practical Nurse, born in Frisco City on October 13, 1939, to the late James Robert and Mazie Jewell Harrison Bailey.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, Det Hanks and Kent Hanks and one sister, Mary Griffis.
Survivors include two sons, Robin (Dianne) Baggett of Huxford and Jimmy (Lyn) Baggett of Atmore; three sisters, Glenda (Arnold) Averett of Citronelle, Elizabeth Johnson of Atmore and Sara (James Earl) Waters of Century; and seven grandchildren, Heather,Maranda, Brittany, Brandon, Noah, Emma and Ava.
Services will be Monday, March 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kip Barbars officiating.
Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Monday, March 3, 2014, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Ethan David Warden, 21, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014, in Atmore.
Mr. Warden was a native of Nokomis, Ala., and a resident of Atmore for most of his life. Mr. Warden is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth D. Warden of Atmore; his grandfathers, Harold Warden of McHenry, MS, Clarence Lee Rolin and Melvin J. Sells both of Atmore; great-grandfather, Milton Sells of Atmore; great-grandparents, Woodrow and Estell Rolin of Atmore; step-brother, Lee Rabon of Petterman, AL; and step-grandmother, Gloyce Rabon.
He is survived by his mother, Janet Welch (Tommy Ashcraft) of Atmore; wife, Shea Warden of Atmore; daughter, Halyn Grace Warden of Atmore; step-brother, Wesley Rabon of Petterman, AL; sister, Whitney Warden of Atmore; nieces, Kylin Marshall and Lillie Byrd; nephew, Kaiden Marshall; grandmothers, Hattie (Glenn) Knowles of Poarch, Lucille Sells of Atmore, Janet (Harold) Allen of Atmore, and LaVelle Franklin of Bay Minette; and grandfather, Harry Bryant of Lottie.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sister Helen Stewart officiating.
Burial will follow at the Sullivan Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, March 3, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Claude Howard Weaver

Claude Howard Weaver, 83 of Atmore,. passed away on Wednesday February 26, 2014, at his residence. He worked for Truckers Association and retired from the City of Atmore, also from the Army National Guard with 25 years of service, and was a member of the McCullough Christian Center. He was born in Escambia County, AL, on April 18, 1930, to the late Stiner and Grace Phillips Weaver.
He is preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Mack Weaver, a brother, Cecil Weaver, and a sister, Louise Wilson.
Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Frances Goodson Weaver of Atmore; three sons, Howard (Jeanette) Weaver, Ricky (Cathy) Weaver all of Atmore, Rodney (Anna) Weaver of Pace; one daughter, Cindy (Allen) Cobb of Atmore; two brothers, Clarence Weaver and Donald Ray (Peggy) Weaver all of Atmore ; two sisters, Earline (James) Burkett of Atmore, Alice (Dick) Walsh of Pensacola; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday March 1, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.C.P. Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in McCullough Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Earl Weaver, Cameron Cobb, Blake Weaver, Don Wooten, Scott Drew and Carl Ward.

Ken Repine

Ken Repine, born November 24, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio was healed of his cancer at 4 p.m. on February 25, 2014, when he entered the Gates of Heaven.
He was met at the Gates by his father and mother, Frank and Ruby Repine and his sister, Joyce, who passed away as an infant and his father-in-law, Johnnie Kinsley.
Loved ones left to cherish Ken’s memories include his wife of 45 years, Wanda Kinsley Repine; his two children Michelle Repine Bond (Peter) and Mike Repine (Jennifer) along with the “magnificent seven”; Jackson and Jenna Bond, Brenn, Kira, Zane, Cole and Reid Repine. Ken had many roles in life; son, brother, husband and daddy but the role he cherished the most was that of Papa to his seven grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters; Pam Repine Elmore (Floyd) and Pat Repine Kieft (Bob) and by Wanda’s family: Harry Kinsley (Gayle), Donna Phillips (Bruce) and Dora Thomley (Wayne) and his mother-in-law, Virginia Kinsley.
Ken retired from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department in 2003 after 30 years. He truly enjoyed serving and protecting the people of this county. Ken’s retirement gave him many opportunities to cheer on his grandchildren at their many sporting events. He also greatly enjoyed bass fishing.
Ken was a member of First Baptist of Cottage Hill and Pensacola Hawg Hunters Bass Club and a former member of Panhandle Bass Club.
The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 S. Hwy 29, Cantonment, on Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 2-4 p.m.
The family has asked that anyone wishing to pay respects attend the visitation. Ken will be cremated and there will be no funeral service. The family requests that instead of sympathy cards you bring a letter with a fond memory of Ken to place in his fishing basket. -
Dean Anthony Lindberg

Dean Anthony Lindberg, 54 of Bay Minette, passed away February 26, 2014, in Mobile.
He was born June 23, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles and Theresa Mills Lindberg. He was a retired Army Ranger and attended Grace Valley Baptist Church in Cantonmen. He was currently a police officer with the Atmore Police Department and had worked for the Kent Washington Police Department and the NAS Police Department. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Lindberg and his brother Daniel Lindberg.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Mary Ann Lindberg of Bay Minette, his mother Theresa Grzesiowski; two sons Terry (Kate) Lindberg and Adam Lindberg both of Kent, Washington; a daughter, HunterRose Lindberg of Bay Minette; one brother Thomas Lindberg of Milford, Michigan; three sisters Nancy Kearny of Romeo, MI; Elizabeth Gorka of Las Vegas, NV, and Mary Ann Gilben of Fayetteville, N.C. and a grandson Luke Lindberg.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Bro. Don Neese officiating. Burial will follow in Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors.
Active pallbearers will be the Atmore Police Department.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. until an 11 a.m. service time from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ann Marie Hanks, 72, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Mrs. Hanks was a native of Hazel Park, Michigan, and a resident of Bratta for the past 20 years. Mrs. Hanks attended the Bratt Baptist Church. Her husband, Horace Hanks, precedes her in death.
She is survived by her two daughters, Danielle (Byron) Mosley of Lottie, AL, and Michelle Hockett (Michael Long) of Gulfport, MS; four brothers, Donald Cates of Lake Stewart, FL, Mark Cates of Lake Stewart, FL, Edward Cates of Michigan and Tom Cates of Lake Stewart, FL; one sister, Christina Johnson of Lake Stewart, FL and five grandchildren, Jacob (Day) Harrison, Cian Mosley, Mollie Hockett, Abbie Hockett and Lauren Long.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 4 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Patterson officiating.

Frederick A. Lambert

Frederick A. Lambert, MSgt, USAF (Retired), born October 14, 1938, in Oneonta, New York, passed away in a peaceful setting holding his wife’s hand and is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Frederick is a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church of Pensacola. He is survived by his wife of 52 years. Marian Lambert, his son Rick Lambert of Pensacola, and daughter DeAndre’ Brown of Delhi, New York. Frederick has nine siblings and is survived by his sisters Lillian SaSanno of Moorehead City, NC; Marie Giambalvo of Binghamton, NY; Dorothy Shaw of Strawberry, AR; Rosanne Garrison of Davenport, NY; and Priscilla Stubbins of Tucson, AZ.
Frederick was a proud member of the United States Air Force. He started his military career in 1956 as a jet engine mechanic in the United States Navy. After three tours aboard aircraft carriers in Vietnam, he moved to the US Air Force while remaining in the same career field. He concluded his 21 year career serving as First Sergeant of the 5th Munitions Maintenance Squadron in Minot North Dakota and retired in 1977.
Frederick was a loving grandfather to his granddaughters Leighann, Lindsey, Dana, and Kaéla and grandsons Alex and Jeffrey. He is also a great-grandfather to Jeannette, Keeria, and Devon. Frederick never failed to help someone in need and was always willing to help, never asking for anything in return. You were blessed to have him as a friend.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2014, at Hillcrest Baptist Church from 10-11 a.m. with funeral services immediately following. Interment will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Samuel Joseph “Joe” Irwin

Former Cantonment resident Samuel Joseph “Joe” Irwin, 80, died February 25,2014, at his home in Sparta, TN.
Joe was born February 8, 1934, in Atmore to the late John Calvin and Lillie (Hardy) Irwin. He graduated from J.M. Tate High School in 1952. He married Mary Joyce Smith on
August 30, 1952, in Cottage Hill. He retired from St. Regis/Champion Paper Mill in 1997. Mr. Irwin was active in the community including membership of the First Baptist Church of Cantonment, a former chief of the volunteer fire department, a current member of Masonic Lodge #322, and the York Rite of Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Diane Dunaway of Milton, FL; daughter, Joanne Irwin of Algood, TN; sister, Eunice Trescott of Virginia Beach; brother Leroy Irwin of Tallahassee; grandchildren, Lesley & Stevyn of TN, and Angela, Amy and Amanda of Florida; great-grandsons Ethan, Trace, Trent and Parker.
Mr. Irwin was also preceded in death by his brother, Dennis.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Faith Chapel North in Cantonment. Burial will take place at Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
